Sans reassured Rex he was happy as a clam with the outcome of the wish and even took off the pumpkin he had on his to show him the smile on his face.

The skeleton then answered his question about Silanea. Looks like she had a personal problem that he didn't feel comfortable with sharing.
"Fine, don't tell me. But keep an eye on her" he paused, trying to look for the best way to phrase his thoughts "Just, try to cheer her up I guess"
After Caro and Arcade greeted Rex, Ciri, and Seiga; Arf and Fate showed up since they had been talking together away from the main group. She didn't recognize Rex because of the suit but his voice sounded familiar to her.
"Let's just say you met me when you arrived here. I drove you to the library"
She did recognize Seiga and asked where Yoshika was. Seiga answered that she was probably in the library and not so subtly hinted at the possibility of accepting Arf as her familiar. The nature of their relationship was already unsettling when Yoshika had brought it up a few days ago but this was going too far now.
"You know, this whole 'master and familiar' thing is starting to sound really creepy. How did you get familiars in the first place, anyway?"
For the Horde!
Ben thought for a moment at Spiderbee's questions. "The City Knights? We don't really have a uniform or anything. So uh, the members. There's me, I'm the kid who turns into aliens. There's Eve, a pretty girl about my age with blonde hair and purple eyes. Thomas is a tall teenage guy with short black hair and a black robe. Louie's shorter than Thomas, but he has green hair so you really can't miss him. Caro is a girl about my age with pink hair, a white jacket and hat and a dragon. Plague Knight is a short guy with a bird mask. Sora is a teenager with spiky hair and a giant key. And I haven't seen Lune in a while so she might not still be here but Lune is a tall blonde teenager with a headband and ripped jeans," Ben explained. We're always accepting new members though, so if anyone wants to be a hero and join the City Knights and fight crime, just call us on Channel 10!" he continued.
He thought about what Spiderbee said about the Militia and the Non-Human Alliance. "No, we're not working with either the Militia or the Non-Humans. The City Knights has a rule, a big one. We don't kill people. Heroes don't kill people. I don't think the Militia likes us anyway, they probably think we're a bunch of bratty kids. But I don't care what they think about us, cause heroes do the right thing no matter what anyone else says about it!"
He sighed, putting a hand behind his head before pushing the button again. "As for the Non-Humans, I didn't have anything against them, but they have a problem with us. A lot of us are human, so when they say racist stuff against us, and say we're the enemy it just stings. I don't hate you guys, don't get me wrong, if you guys are listening I'm sorry if I'm hurting you. I think I hurt Silanea a lot and I wanna apologize to her when I get the chance. But as it stands... I'm honestly not sure what to think about them," he explained to Spiderbee.

Shinji had known his reaction was obvious, he had done a terrible job at hiding it after all. What he hadn't expect that Kamina wanted to talk to him about it—in private. To say the least, he was nervous. Why did he want it in private? Shinji couldn't understand. It wasn't like it meant much. He had shown his fear before, nobody cared about them. Well, there was Misato, she had been nice. She had told him to quit when he didn't really want to, yet he stayed. So perhaps because of that, or maybe just out of politeness, Shinji said,
"O-Okay."
Then he went with Kamina. Though not before glancing at Simon and the others with some worry. He hoped they wouldn't go too far from them, if he remembered and understood Bergree's words about the city's "shifting" earlier. Whenever Kamina stopped, he followed and after a bit said, shuffling his feet a little,
"So, um...what did you want to talk about...?"
"You said you had a dream... That dream... Make it come true! ... If anyone can, it's you!" - N (shortened) Oh, and I'm a girl.

Oh. People were talking to me. While I felt all of it wash over me, I must have processed it because I responded anyway without consciously thinking to.
"...Sorry miss. I don't...know what happened." I didn't look up, didn't inflect whatsoever.
"I don't mind leaving. I did what I came here for. I'll manage, I think..."
I stood up (when had I sat back down?), holding the edge of the table for balance...and threw it to the side, kicked the chair in a different direction, and fell to the floor, screaming in some tone between anger and anguish.

"I see, I see" Little Spiderbee said, nodding her head, though she had a fairly blank expression on her tiny face. "So what's your current opinion on Rex, and the extra challenge he agreed to? What do you think the challenge is going to be? What do you think about Rex being in jail? And what would you say to Rex right now, if you could?" the fairy then questioned him, figuring that to be the obvious next topic.
"Alright, I..." the Miss Tairee copy trailed off as Lewis started throwing a tantrum, and lifted her glasses frame up to pinch the bridge of her nose and sigh in irritation. "If you start setting stuff on fire in here, I'm going to turn you human and take away your powers" the librarian said, not bothering to speak up even though Lewis was screaming; she was more thinking out loud than actually warning him anyway.

Offeran was surprised at what happened when he touched the Omnitrix, jerking back with an apology. But, before he could ask what had happened, Ben was swept up in the interview. He turned to Jack, who was gathering the rest of the children up to leave.
Of course, not all of them were happy about it. Sarah wanted to see the fairy more, and even Mary looked a little put down by it. But one look at Ara made sure the spirit put his foot down, firmly but nicely. "I'm sorry guys, but this is important. I'll make it up to you all."
With the children collected and ready to move, the winter spirit turned his attention back to Ara and Melanie. Jack frowned when he saw the situation, irritation and dislike for the woman growing. He was tempted to throw a snowball, but held the urge. Instead, the spirit stepped up and between the two, glancing up at the harpy staring in worry at the dark-haired woman she was perched on. He smiled at Ara. "Hey, we're ready to get moving. Come on." He put his hand out for her.
Then the spirit turned a slightly frosty look on Melanie, the level of his irritation confusing him a little. "I think that's enough."
Then he moved off, most likely with Ara in hand, and the children following after him. Neither of them noticed Sarah point to the two, and nudge her sister as she giggled.

"you're kinda late to be telling me that," said Sans in response to Rex's instructions. i tried bringing her to watch a movie with me yesterday but it didn't work very well, ben throwing a fit at me didn't help either,"
Fate then chimed in asking him about Silanea being his boss. She seemed to be familiar with her, now the question was just how much.
"yeah, she's the boss of the non-human alliance, or the nha for short. i'm a member so, she's my boss. that's all, we don't come from the same world or anything," she explained.

Gon felt very pale after hearing the news.
"No... It can't be...."
The assassin had never felt this furious in his life. All this time that he was stuck in this... this stupid place. The woman he meant to protect died, most likely by the head of Ventura Holdings.
"Yes, but I'm not going to send a greeting to anything. I'm sending them a threatening message. Would... that be possible?"
Gon was very calm when he answered. His tone... appeared to be like someone who was entirely filled with hate.

Arcade snapped out of his despondency when Ciri said his name. He considered how to answer when Caro returned and mentioned someone else had vertibirds where they were from. That got him to stand up straighter and unclench his fist.
"There might be someone else from my universe?" He asked, wavering between excited and terrified. Knowing what vertibirds were was not necessarily a good sign. If someone from the Brotherhood had been brought to the City, Arcade wasn't sure how he was going to keep going. There really was nowhere he could escape.
I say that aloud too sometimes, just: "man, no life."

The librarian gave me the phone, and I pressed the button on it. I heard your number getting' dialed, and your voice came out of it. You asked me how I managed to get this number and I replied, “Jenny... You won't believe me, but I was off in another city or somethin' like that....”
And you know the rest. I told you all about my time in this here city, which was filled with all sorts of strange things. Honestly, it would like take me forever to describe all of this.
To make this easier, I'll switch to third-person for this scene.
We now turn to a simple apartment room in Greenbow, Alabama. A familiar blonde is busy waiting for Forrest Gump for like two or three days now. Did he get lost in the city?
Suddenly, the phone rings, and Jenny picks it up. She asks the first question anyone should ask in situations like this: “Hello. How did you get this number?”
The voice on the line said, “Jenny... You won't believe me, but I was off in another city or somethin' like that....”
Isn't that Forrest Gump?! Where the heck has he been?! After all, he did make that promise to visit you after that run.
Then Forrest begins telling Jenny this strange tale about this city filled with lots of strange characters and their attempts at surviving in a place made to house them. When Jenny took this all in, she couldn't shake off the weird possibility of Forrest telling a really tall tale.
Jenny asks Forrest, “Were you makin' this all up?”
“Why would I lie to you, Jenny,” replies Forrest. “Everythin' I talked 'bout happened for real! Still, I'm glad I'm talkin' to you right now, Jenny. How are you doin'?”
“Good, I was wonderin' what happened to you, Forrest. I thought you went missing.”
“Yeah, I uh guess y'all can say that. Any news from your end, Jenny?”
“Well... you have a son, Forrest. His name is Forrest Jr.”
“Wow! He shares the same name as me! Who's the father?”
“You are, Forrest.”
There is a long pause from the other end, as if Forrest is taking his sweet time realizing the truth. All of a sudden, Jenny hears joyous sobbing from the other end.
“Is he like me?”
“Nope. Doctor said he was the smartest boy he had ever seen.”
“I'm so proud... Those mean kids won't mock him.”
“I know.”
Jenny was about to say something else, but decides not to. If he heard that Jenny had this strange condition, it would break poor Forrest's heart. Fortunately, she was interrupted by Forrest saying,
“Well, I'll talk to you later, Jenny. I have some business to take of.”
Seein' as I still need to look 'round this city, I made up an excuse and hung up the phone.
“Thanks for the phone, ma'am. I liked talkin' with her.”
I handed the phone back to the librarian with a smile on my face.

Then Yoshika answered. "Oh, okay then," the alchemist responded, thankfully for her taking her explanation at face value without thinking further. "Tell her I said greetings."
Lastly towards Simon: "So camaraderie then. Such closeness between two friends is a virtue often boasted by many a knight but never truly enacted by the majority. I myself never had any siblings, being an only child." THANK GOD, the alchemist mentally added.
Then Yoshika asked about Kamina's speaking volume. "At least he's quieter than Karkat! With a less latrine birthed vocabulary as well! HEE HEE HEE!!"

"If he ever gets here, do not fight him, get me or anyone else like me. Sigma is the worst I have ever had to face, he won't die, he'll come back and kill countless people if he gets the chance, with each new body worse than the last," was X's response.
His eyes had narrowed and whatever soft features of his face had vanished, "There is no reasoning with him. He's not even a Reploid anymore, just a virus who I should have found a way to put down long ago."
"Odious is only one way to describe him," his fists clenched. He took a deep breath and calmed himself.
Ciri - Near, But Not On, the Roller Coaster
"Why hello there girls, you can call me big sis Ciri. Aren't you just precious?" Ciri said, leaning down towards the children who seemed to be dressed up in various outfits - it seems not even the youths of the city were spared the embarrassment of a wardrobe change. Still, it was a bit disturbing that they were all subjected to such a thing at such a young age - though one of the girls was quite a bit older than the other two, and the toddler."And just what are you all supposed to be?" she added, crouching down in front of Caro. She pointed at Cole. "A cute little hare, that much I can tell." Next she pointed at Arf. "And your big sister, she must be a fox." She pulled her hand back and looked at Fate and Caro. "But what about the two of you?"
"Oh..." Curly glanced aside in search of the right answer "Well... That might be because I told one of the fanboys this morning I'd see if I could get you to swing by the party for a little bit later today" she admitted a little sheepishly as she started to get up from the table. "Maybe I should have just said so instead of using my bag as an excuse."

The fairy interviewer asked him about Rex, and what he thought about Rex being in jail. Ben raised his eyebrow. So it looked like the Militia arrested him after all. About what he expected, the Militia thought with their guns rather than their heads.
"Rex is in jail?" he asked, sounding somewhat unsurprised, then sighing. 'The Militia jumped the gun. Again. Well he's not a bad guy, he probably shouldn't be in jail. He shouldn't have made a deal with the Writer though. The Writer just wants to make us suffer and fight each other and kill each other, and he tries to hurt people and make us hurt the people we care about."
He furrowed his brow. "I spoke with the Writer earlier today, he said he'd grant my request for a fight with him, but only if I fought and beat Miss Tairee! Miss Tairee didn't want any of this, she didn't do anything evil!" Ben exclaimed, his hands shaking as his anger started up again, the anger in his voice became evident. "This is exactly what I was talking about! All he wants is a good story, and he doesn't think at all about how the people in his story are real and not just his playthings to do whatever the heck he wants to do with them!''
He stopped, his breathing heavy, before looking at Spiderbee with a rather apologetic expression. "Sorry, I got a little upset there... any other questions?" he asked Spiderbee quietly.

"That's good! And maybe ... Although I'm sure that there must be other like or even better than it around," Caro replied to Sans.
So it seemed that Silanea was still feeling quite down ... She hoped that the party Sans was planning would something for her ... The talk about familiars confused her a bit. It didn't seem like that woman came from the same place as them, though it might be like with Negi and Chime, with the term having at least slightly different meaning. In anycase, she was sure that Arf wouldn't take well to that offer ...
At Arcade's question, she nodded and said, "It seems like it ... I'm sure if you would know her, but ... Her name is Lily and she ... Actually, I don't quite know what she is supposed to be. She has blue skin and is quite large ... Quite strong too, she was carrying a piece of one of those vertibirds around rather easily. She is really nice though, like a grandma to pretty much everybody ..."
She blushed quite a bit at Ciri fawning over them. She then said, " I'm Caro and this here is Fried," gesturing towards the little dragon as usual, then adding, "And I'm not at all sure either ... Arf is actually already like a wolf normally and someone said the costume is supposed to be a reindeer or something like that ... As for Fate and me, I don't have much of a clue either. I would say it was random, if it was for at least some costumes somewhat matching. It is like there is a bunch of different themes around instead of just one. Wheter there is supposed to be a common thread between all of it is something I have been puzzling over practically all day long ..."

"I see...." Fate said simply with a frown, "We had dinner with her yesterday. She got really upset about what happened, but I didn't know what I could do for her...." She glanced between Sans and Rex. "It doesn't sound like she's gotten any better since then...."
She decided to leave out the fact she was the one who knocked Silanea out of the contest in the first place. With that said, she turned her attention to the woman who introduced herself as "Ciri" and was currently fawning over them. She made a small awkward smile, but otherwise said nothing and settled for letting the others speak.
"Ah yes. Rex, wasn't it?" Arf replied, "We've heard a lot about this 'extra challenge' you accepted. Must had been something judging by that scene in the library earlier." She smirked, before shaking her head. "I don't know what she did to get hers, other than that it must have been very flawed to get somebody that dumb, but in my case my master created me out of her mana reserves. Ours is quite the open ended agreement, but I choose to stay by her side out of everything else she has done for me. I couldn't have asked for a better master."
That last statement was accompanied by a sharp glare in Yoshika's master's direction, but Arf saw no need to further address her and simply turned her attention to Ciri.
"I'll happily take 'fox' over 'dog,'" she added to Caro's statement, "You wouldn't believe how many times that mistake's been made."

As for Rex...he didn't seem as open minded as her friend, the short alchemist Plague Knight, so maybe a little bit of maneuvering would be in order. "Ah, that...it's complicated to describe to someone that doesn't have a little knowledge in the field...or speak Chinese...but I guess you could say I re-purpose dead bodies. Perhaps..."
This was going to be a definite gamble, but Seiga had a sneaking suspicion that one of these folk here were in the same field. Just to test the truth, let's make ourselves look like an idiot!
"Perhaps our friend right here," she said as she gestured to Caro, "would like to put it into her own terms. After all, she seems to be a necromancer as well!"
"Alright, Morty, let's go hit the town and-" Whatever Rick was about to say next as he helped his grandson up and ushered him over to the door was cut off by Lewis's incoherent screaming. Rick, about to push through the door, blinked and looked over at what was either the ghost equivalent of a complete nervous breakdown or some kind of crazy dance fad from his multiverse.
"Ugh, jeez, I-I-I-I was *urp* I was *urp* I was tRUUghying to share a heartwarming moment with my grandson here!" snapped the elderly man as he watched Lewis continue to carry on.
"Aw jeez, Rick, y-you think he's okay? 'Cause... 'cause... not like I was listening in or nothing but I mean i-i-it sounded like he had a, a, real, you know, a real bad phone call with his girlfriend."
There was a period of silence as the two watched him continue screaming and hollering.
"He'll be fine, Morty," shouted Rick above the din to make himself heard, "y-you just gotta let him tire himself out with these kinda things. No shame in eavesdropping, Morty, y'know? As long as it's not on me, any *urp* way."

Eve was lost. She hadn't helped at all, possibly making it worse. What was she supposed to do in this situation? How was she supposed to deal with this?
She had never been good at this type of thing.
Not for the first time, she wished Sven was here. Or Train. Or Rinslet. Or anyone better than emotions than her note . Eve just kind of stood there, utterly stuck.

Arf explained that she was a creation of Fate's mana reserves. So, basically, she created life out of thin air. Still pretty creepy but a bit more acceptable than slavery. As for Seiga, she used dead bodies to do her bidding. Rex was surprised to see that Ciri's remark wasn't the only mention to zombies in here.
"Hold on, Yoshika is a zombie?" and apparently it was too complicated for Seiga to explain it in full, for starters because you had to be fluent in Chinese "Well, turns out I know Chinese. And it's not much of a problem in the city, anyway"
And then Seiga dropped a bomb. Caro knew what she meant because she too was a necromancer!
"What? Fried is a zombie too?!"

So Fate ran into Silanea, as expected, and she wasn't happy about what happened last night, also to be expected considering Sans got everything he wanted without having to do anything while she tried so hard just to lose everything. He had to wonder if she had begun to resent him for it, it was a likely possibility if nothing else.
A discussion about familiars started again, with the difference between Arf, who was literally made by Fate, and that Yoshika girl, who was a dead body raised from the dead, being pointed out. He wasn't really sure what to think about using people's dead bodies as puppets, but he didn't think about it for too long before Seiga started implying that Caro could be a necromancer like her. Rex even fell for it which was even better, so he couldn't let the opportunity slip by.
"yeah, sis is pretty much the best necromancer around," Sans casually said, though he then seemed to get startled and tried to covers his mouth, which just made him cover some of the mask instead, he then looked at Caro, acting as if he had just said something he shouldn't. "whoops, sorry," he said in a sheepish tone.

It was good that the woman's laughter was stopping, even though it hadn't completely stopped yet. I was surprised she found the situation so amusing, and... to be fair, I had no idea of why I wasn't able to notice before. Maybe because I hadn't really been paying attention to that? Or maybe because... well, it didn't matter anymore.
Jack suddenly stepped between us, and extended his hand to me. I grabbed it without much thought; I was more focused on how much I wanted to leave. He quickly turned to say something to Melanie, and then he left, dragging me along by the hand with all the children following us in tow. I only managed to give Ben and Melanie a quick wave before we left. I could tell that she didn't really mean to upset me with that comment, even if she found the situation funny, so it was the least I could do to let her know that I wasn't angry at her or anything of the sort.
Then my eyes landed back on Jack. He also seemed to want to leave rather quickly, and he did look a bit odd earlier. It felt as if... he understood why I wanted to leave. ...oh Goddess, he didn't notice too, did he? I... well, he didn't really seem like the kind of person who paid attention to that kind of thing, so... maybe I was just overthinking things. Either way, I was very glad to finally be out of there.
"Th-thanks," I thanked Jack once we were some distance away, "and sorry for... w-well, for all of that."
Arcade listened as Caro described the other person with a neutral expression. When she mentioned that Lily was big and blue, his eyebrows shot up in shock. "Are you saying there's a nightkin here?" He asked in shock. Memories of that basement of REPCONN, all of those super mutants appearing out of nowhere to kill Arcade and the Courier replayed themselves in his mind.
He was so horrified by the prospect of a nightkin running around the city that he didn't pay attention to the conversation about necromancy. Sure, Caro stated it was friendly, but who knew what would set it off. One wrong move and a bumper sword would be stuck in the head of the little girl who could accept it as a grandma.

The Miss Tairee copy simply lowered her eyebrows when Lewis snapped at her, and her eyes narrowed a bit as she looked down at Lewis until just after his tablet disappeared. "So long as you are making a scene in my library while I'm here, it does involve me" the Miss Tairee copy said sternly, placing her hands on her hips like an angry mom.
"I've asked you politely multiple times before, and you've seen first hand what I am capable of, yet still you persist in behaving like this. I'm running out of patience for people who seem to think that my rules are just casual suggestions. So let this be clear sir" the Miss Tairee copy continued, then leaned forward a bit closer to Lewis. "You will apologize, or you will leave" the librarian copy warned him simply in a hushed tone.
