The ocean — Fighting the Krakeyen

Ripjaws hissed as one of the tentacles came in his direction after he attacked the first tentacle. When the tentacle came in his direction he spun, slashing in its direction to keep it at bay, then he dove underwater to swim around the creature. He swam straight for the second tentacle, trying to get between the tentacle and its Zbornak target. He leapt out of the water again, biting at the tentacle and shredding at it as much he could to keep it away.

I can still hail the Horde even though the company has shamed us. Strength and Honor even if Blizzard has neither.

Flying over the city — Water, water, and more water

Flying over the giant ocean wasn't as interesting as Rex had expecteed since it was just that: An empty ocean with just a few buildings floating on its surface. Rex took a while to reach one of the buildings and landed just outside. Entering revealed it was mostly made of wood and it seemed to be some sort of small warehouse. There was also a hole in the ground, presumably some sort of elevator given the panel it was connected to, that lead underground.

It should be easy, go underwater, look for the Ruckus, try to reason with them (or kick their asses), and problem solved. On second thought, maybe he should have asked for a scuba gear, just to be on the safe side.

Before he could actually call the elevator, though, it started working by itself. Rex waited patiently for the machine to stop moving he kept his distance. He didn't know what could come out of it and he wasn't in the mood to be punched by surprise.

A boardwalk, somewhere.

Sophie turned her head to and fro as the woman paced around. "We can try finding a place here for you to practice some more," she said with a faint smile. "It can be something to help you relax."

Eve|Boat|Or is it Kraken?

Eve rolled her eyes at Morty's misnaming of her nanoblades. There was only one kind of projectile she could create, and that was the feather bullets.

"They're not guns. They're blades."

She moved towards Rick, cutting the tentacle that was holding him. This squid was unusually persistent, since most animals would have retreated after encountering this amount of resistance. Then again, the fact that it's tentacles were covered in eyes was a sign that this was not an ordinary squid.

KRAKEN SLASH EYE PUN

"Hey, I appreciate your help, but—" Sylvia shouldered past Ben—"I don't need protection from a dumb yellow tentacle! If you really want to assist someone else, keep that joker from getting himself killed." She grabbed the eye on the tip of the tentacle in one hand and used the other to jab a thumb at Wander, who was stuck halfway inside his hat, headfirst, clearly trying to decipher where all the stuff inside had gone. "Otherwise, feel free to help. If it's you and me against this thing, we're sure to take 'im."

She tried to put as much Inspirational Speech into her voice as she could. "Oh, yeah, and there's Rick too," she realized, noticing that he was helping, mostly. "And Morty. And also Knife Girl over there. And that...triangle guy up there. Grop, this is a lot of people."

Ara Haan (Deep Underwater) - Yet Another Introduction

"My name is Ara Haan," Ara replied in turn, bowing deeply to Seiga, Yoshika and Plague Knight. "Pleased to meet you all... although I have already met Mister Karkat before."

She replied to Plague Knight's offer with an enthusiastic nod. After all, she had spent most of her time awake looking for others, so there really was no reason for her to give any answer other than yes.

"Oh, of course! Unfortunately, I don't know from where we can head to the surface, so... we will have to wander around for some time, I suppose."

Ocean surrounded boardwalk

"P-practice, cooking? Relax..?" Kelsey muttered, and glanced around, thinking. "But... There's going to be more of those, pirate guys around today, isn't there? People are going to be getting hurt and killed while I..." she trailed off, then shook her head vigorously.

"No! No! I can't hide away from a fight like that. Not after everything that..." Kelsey continued, going silent for a moment before shifting the subject with, "and Khorne would be very displeased with me." Kelsey looked at Sophie for a moment, her expression still a tad sorrowful, but convicted. "I have to- you... Thanks for trying to help, but I have to do this" she managed to say after tripping up because she wasn't sure what she should say. With that she turned and started to walk away, looking back and forth at the nearby buildings in thought.

Underwater tunnels near the docking structure

One of the various doors at the edge of the rectangular room started to open; the wheel at the center of the door turned around as someone turned the opposite one on the other side. After a moment, it swung open, and a couple militia members looked in from the left and right of the doorway, guns in hand. When they saw the group in the room and the remains of the robots on the floor, they looked a bit surprised and lowered their guns. "Oh, sorry. We heard gunfire" one of the two militia members said to them as he stepped through the door, eying Sans and Lewis with a bit of a confused expression for a moment.

The other turned around, presumably to somebody out of view, and said loudly, "it's all clear this way!" He then followed the other militia member, and soon behind him came along a group of some civilians.

The first militia member through the door was quick to spot the docking station on the other side of the room. "Oh thank goodness, it looks like we might be able to grab a sub here!" he announced to the others with them.

There was four people in the civilian group, none of whom were remarkable except for one that Cole would certainly recognize. It's hard to forget the face of a man who had blasted your head off with a shotgun.

On the airwaves
for whoever's listening, mainly Zelda

The militia's channel was busy with chatter; nothing particularly stood out, but the overall picture was clearly not good. Various squads were spread out all over the place, mostly in the underwater tunnels, and dealing with various hostiles that had spawned in on the day. Their main concern right now seemed to be trying to protect civilians.

The anti-humans' channel had much less going on, and mainly they were just trying to get their members all regrouped to any of their buildings for safety. From listening, Zelda would be able to piece together that their main headquarters was somewhere in the underwater tunnels, though not terribly deep down. They also had that diner run by the catgirls somewhere on the surface with an access hatch to the underwater tunnels in a back room; they said something about keeping said hatch sealed off unless they needed to open it though, just in case anything hostile tried to wander up from the tunnels below.

Middling Depth - Aw Man, Straight to the Awkward

As soon as he'd called out to her, Curly communicated that she'd been wondering about his possible presence, and teased him about the current submerged state of their location, as a stout skeleton-looking figure (was he dead too? Were skeletons just a normal thing where he was? He supposed for all he knew this guy was an automaton made to look like some cheap prop skeleton you'd find at a Halloween store) asked if the two of them were familiar with each other.

"It's really impressive to look at..." he said, looking at the nearest view outside, where a weird cuttlefish could be seen zooming off aimlessly in the distance. "It's not as if I can really drown as far as I know, either, so, what's the worst I could happen...?"

Marvelously, Cole vanished from sight as he began to clarify that "But, I also, might have...well, it was mean and uncomfortable. I—"

Caro interrupted him with exactly the information he had been dancing around.

"Yeah...that...I'm really, sorry about that." He was hoping to look at Cole but he had no way of knowing if the kid had moved under the cloak of invisibility. Still he leaned in the general direction of where the kid had been. "I was worked up and that's no excuse, but. No...hard feelings? Please?"

A number of people then entered through a door in the corner of the room, saying they'd heard gunfire and deeming it safe to pass through. Apparently they were seeking a submarine. "A submarine sounds nice."

The others were distracted, either by Lewis or the newcomers, so with the amount of people moving around it would be easy to miss the faintest sound of a dagger being drawn, just seconds before Cole practically burst out of his invisibility in a swirl of green smoke, lunging for one of the four civilians with every intent to bring the man to the ground and keep a knife pressed to his throat, not yet cutting but with the threat imminent.

"You killed me!" he yelled, sounding furious and frightened all at once. "You're one of them and you killed me!"

Topside, in a building

The elevator reached the top floor, bringing Garrett to what looked like a small warehouse with wooden boards covering the floor around the steel-lined shaft. At the sight of someone standing there, Garrett flinched back, but then he recognized the person in question.

"Ah. It's you. Say, I've been looking for the library... don't you have any idea where it might be?" He walked up to the exit and cast a frowning look over the ocean's expanse. There were a few rowboats tethered to the pier, but he didn't relish the prospect of paddling across this entire sea.

Underwater tunnels

"Yeah, a submarine seems like the quickest way to the surface" one of the militia members said after Lewis' comment, and then hell broke loose.

Cole suddenly appeared and tackled the man who'd killed him down to the ground, the man letting out a pained "oof!" as he hit the metal flooring. "Wh-what the heck?!" the man then yelled, sounding scared witless.

At the same time, one of the militia members was quick to react after his eyes went wide, and he aimed his submachinegun right at Cole. "Woah man! Calm down and back off! Right now!" the militia member yelled, from his tone clear that he didn't want to shoot Cole, but was ready to if he felt he had to. "You got three seconds! Get off him!" he continued insistently.

The other militia member watched Cole tackle the guy, then turned to look at Sans, Caro, Curly, and Lewis, and pretty quickly realized there could be a big problem here. He lifted his own submachinegun up a bit, not aimed directly at any of them, but at the ready. He was a bit shaky, his expression slightly afraid.

The three civilians just panicked, two going for nearby cover while the third ran back out the door they had initially come through.

Underwater Tunnels - Sudden tension

Curly was surprised to hear the others had already heard of Lewis, and not in a good way. "Lewis, what did you do" her words were intended to be stern, but after hearing him stumble around an apology they were more exasperated than anything.

Before she could try to put words to any of their interactions yesterday to answer Sans' question a door opened, and a soldier of some sort announced to the group just entering the room that they could get a submarine to get to the surface. Curly had been about to ask who they were, or make some comment about planning the same thing, but Cole's sudden attack on the unarmed man threw everything into chaos. Curly dropped her red machine gun onto her free hand from where it had been resting against her shoulder to point at a spot on the floor between where the two soldiers stood where it would be easy to shift her aim to either of them.

Gon's boat just got done.

The next cannon shot landed very, very close to Gon's rowboat as he got closer and closer to the library's location. The force of the impact forced the boat to overturn, making him fall out.

The pirates nodded, satisfied that their target was done. They watched the overturned boat and floating oars for a few seconds before they off their way.

Underwater Tunnels - welp

Caro pointed out what Lewis had done which instantly made Sans remember where he knew him from. The flaming skeleton confirmed their suspicions afterwards, but he sounded sincere in how he apologized for it.

Sans didn't have much time to think about it because new people showed up and one of them apparently killed Cole before which led to the spirit to try to stab him in the neck which of course didn't go well with the militia who began pointing guns at him, which led to Curly pointing guns at them, if nobody did anything, there would be another shoot-out there really soon.

"all right, all right, time out," he said, using his blue magic to lift Cole off from the man he was attacking, "let's try talking things through first, ok? let's not shoot..." he said, glancing at Curly and the militia members, then back at Cole, "... or stab anyone. Cole, an explanation before acting would be nice."

Underwater Tunnels - Descalation

Lewis' words confirmed her suspicion, but his overall demeanor and the awkward but apparently sincere way he said them caused her to relent and her features to soften.

She had no time to comment on it however, because next arrived two militia soldiers with a bunch civillians, who were also happy to find the docking bay. She hoped that there enough vehicles for all of them. If not, she for one would let the civillians take priority

She had no time to dwell on that either, since Cole suddenly reappeared and attacked one of the civillians, saying that person had killed him and was one of them, which she took as meaning a member of Ruckus.

This obviously did not go well with the two soldiers present, who got ready to attack if necessary and Curly in turn got ready to respond in kind. Thankfully Sans then try to break the whole thing off before it got any worse by grabbing Cole with his power and trying to get every to calm down.

Caro lifted up her hands to show that she meant no harm and pleaded, "Yeah, please, let's not fight. I'm sorry for the rash action of our friend here. We don't mean to harm you. We just want to get out of this place safely, the same as you" then turning to Cole, who hopefully was still visible and held by Sans she said, "Cole, I understand that you are furious that this man killed you, but killing him back in revenge won't solve anything, specially here and now. Just please explain something. What did you mean by them? Do you mean that he is from Ruckus?"

The Maze, Moving Up
Yoshika certainly didn't take Plague Knight's explanation of the nature of deep oceans very well, looking at him worriedly. All she knew was that water was wet and you can walk through it, the idea of it having cumulative weight was something entirely new. The idea of magic being able to get around this was something she wanted to look into, but bringing it up counted as complaining, right? Yes, she concluded, yes it did. These are the days she wish she knew how to swim.

Seiga, unaware of her servant's great turmoil, nodded to the newcomer. "Then that's what we shall do, Ara." Karkat was already escaping to one of the side hatches, so she followed him forward and pulled Yoshika along. She figured that having another meatshield was advantageous in these tunnels, so she was fine with the troll leading the group for the moment.

After a little bit of walking down tubes, climbing up a couple of ladders, having Yoshika pry open heavy bulkheads and not making much progress, they came onto something promising.

The room before them was spacious, the ceiling extending far above their heads unlike the cramped tunnels beforehand. The floor was slick with some black oily substance, and the walls were covered in various blinking lights and a few panels, worn out and flickering. At the end of the room were three doors, each looking like they would slide open with the touch of a button.

While all of this was interesting, those in the group with a discerning eye would note the giant mass of wires and metal hanging from above them, leaking the black oil down onto the floor and looking quite menacing. A single blue light passed over them in turn, and then a speaker hidden somewhere within the mass weakly crackled "Oh this is just terrific! Hi there! I am the Perfect Operating System, and I am assigned to watch over this room for the time being, and while I am currently unable to physically interact with you I am requesting any and all available machines to arrive at this location to kill you! I'm sure they'll be here any moment now!"

A tense pause, and after a while the machine continued with "Aaaaany moment now!"

A few more moments, and sheer nothingness seemed to be coming at the group from all angles. "...Well, okay! I'm afraid there are no machines within my service range! Please wait warmly while I attempt to rectify this!"

The Library — Just another Tuesday

The elevator finally reached the floor Rex was in and it was carrying a hooded man. Rex recognized him, it was Garrett.

"Oh, hey. Haven't seen you in a while. I thought you got lucky and managed to escape the city"

The guy asked Rex if he knew where the library was. In other circumstances, Rex would have flown him to the building but he was running late on his appointment with the Ruckus.

"Well, you can row, row, row your boat all the way" he pointed at the docks and then walked to the elevator

"...or you can go with me and stop a demon from getting resurrected. Take your pick"

A boardwalk, somewhere.

Sophie blinked, staying where she was for a moment. She then began walking after the woman, who rounded a corner. "No, I don't mean right now... you can - "

When she rounded the corner herself, the woman was nowhere in sight, the City's shifting having moved either one of them. Instead a different boardwalk extension lay before the lilac-haired girl, with fewer wooden shanties lining the sides. Sophie frowned. ...Did I say something wrong? I probably did...... If I run into her again, I should talk to her again. I should ask who or what this 'Corn' is, too.

The sounds of someone talking coming from the nearest shack to her caught Sophie's attention. She walked over to it and, placing a hand on the door, tried to open it slowly. This being a wooden door with metal hinges rusty from (simulated) seawater, it creaked much, much louder than if it had been opened normally. "...Hello?" she asked softly, as if the creaking had not occurred.

Definition of Perfect?

"Tis an eternal trifle for all in this city," Plague Knight poetically said. He then followed along with the group, staying in the front with Yoshika by virtue of him being the most battle capable of the group, as he knew it. When the group arrived in the spacious, slick covered room, the knight's first reaction was pulling out an empty vial and collecting some of the indiscernable black liquid. He than looked up upon hearing the voice coming from the giant mass of metal and wires hanging from the ceiling, as it cheerfully greeted them and said he was sending robots to kill them all.

Luckily for the group, none came.

"I would pelt this crazed construct with explosives, but I do not wish to risk killing us all in the process if this black substance is flammable," Plague Knight said the rest of the group. "Let us leave this murderous moron before he actually makes good on his promise." He then went over to one of the doors.

At this point, a girl came in, announcing her entrance with an ear-rending creak of the door. Garrett recognized her from yesterday. He acknowledged her arrival with a noncommittal grunt before turning back to Rex. "They're trying to resurrect him? How?"

The Maze, Assuming Direct Control!
Seiga didn't seem to want anything to do with this robot either, walking forward with Plague Knight. A sole, very thin cable extended from the ceiling and lightly whapped her in the head. She grabbed at it as it tried to make a second strike, and obstinately said "Stop that" as it wiggled in her grasp.

As soon as Plague Knight tried to reach for a door, a deafeningly loud siren played for an instant from the AI's speakers. P.O.S. turned on some mildly-threatening red lighting, bathing the room in a deep scarlet tone in a surely-effective gambit of psychological warfare.

"Good, then! You appear to have taken my previous lie at face value!" the computer shouted, its tone still exceedingly cheerful. Its supports creaked and groaned as it wiggled its frame about up in the air, obviously delighted. "You see, I am actually in command of a total of four robots, all equipped with the best anti-human equipment available available in today's market! I believe they all share my same sentiment on your continued existence!"

As if on cue, the door opened and revealed three robots, each of them incredibly deadly and trundling threateningly at the alchemist. One appeared to be a blue mop bucket on wheels, filled to the brim with undoubtedly effective soapy water and stopping every few inches to clean away at the pooled oily substance underneath it. The second was obviously a repurposed toolbox, using its mechanical arms to sloppily place floor tiles on the ground beneath it, and it only seemed to be mildly interested in killing despite its fearsome appearance. The third wasn't focused on continued maintenance of the floors; it was here only to kill!

It was a little more robust in stature than the other two, its sturdy frame appearing to consist of a repurposed helmet of some kind. It waved a glowing baton in the air with its sole arm, a crack of electricity sparking from its end. As soon as it spotted Plague Knight it moved at him with considerable speed, playing an extremely lo-fi clip of a text-to-speech engine saying "Prepare for Justice!"

The computer added to this potent torrent of terror by saying "I'm afraid that while one of my said robots is very tardy as of right now, your current likelihood of survival is still decreasing by the second! Please hold still, and we will ensure that you die in the most painless way physically possible! I assure you that nothing you can do will make this room any more escapable for the duration of my existence!"

Cole struggled against Sans's grip on his soul before just clutching at his dagger tight, baring his teeth as he glared down the man he had attacked. He did raise his head enough to take in the situation around him, but he didn't let go of his blade.

"On the day that the colors left the world, when the giant mouse was in the store, this man was the one who I felt the demon inside first! He used his gun to kill me and he was one of the Ruckus men!"

He looked quickly to the militia members. "You can speak to your friends on those things, th-those walkie...talkies, you can ask Lieutenant Wells about me, about my powers! I have told him that I can see inside of people, that I can know what hurts them! I saw the demon inside this man when he killed me!"

Library - I am Sitting at this Table and Contemplating My Life Choices up to This Moment

Zelda had hoped she'd be able to make some progress towards her goal today. However, the more she listened to the walkie-talkie, the more she got the impression that this was not a good day to leave the library. Miss Tairee had mentioned "hostiles," and by the sounds of things she wasn't lying. The good news was that she finally knew how to get to the other parts of the city, but the fact that the other parts of the city were a pain to navigate weren't helping matters at all.

So, what else could she do today? She had been reading this book for a while just to have a good idea on how to deal with the Lord of Change should it be revived, but she really didn't feel like she'd been learning anything she didn't already know. The part she was reading right now didn't even have anything to do with the Lords of Change, Tzeentch, or even anything useful. It just seemed to be rules about the game all this was supposedly a part of, and to say they were complicated was putting it mildly.

She sighed, before finishing off the last of her sandwich. The bright side was that there wasn't much to be asked of her today, and that today didn't seem to be nearly as harsh as that wasteland from a couple days ago. However, now that she had something to work towards she wanted to be working towards it, but she just couldn't because the day wasn't conductive to it.

Well, at least she could get an idea of how to make a good impression for future days. With that thought in mind, she turned her walkie-talkie back to the anti-humans' channel before flipping through her book again for information that was actually useful and relevant, while desperately trying to think of something more productive she could do today.

Underwater tunnels

The two militia members paused, lowering their weapons a bit more and glancing at each other. The one who had been aiming at Cole looked a bit relieved though still annoyed, but the other just looked scared for the most part.

"Well uh, we..." the scared one trailed off and looked over at his comrade. "You know who these guys are, right? They're probably telling the truth, so, why don't we just let them have the guy?" he said to the other in a hushed tone that was presumably meant to not be heard by the group, but the nature of the room they were in made it basically impossible that they wouldn't, albeit a bit difficultly.

The one who had been aiming at Cole looked his way and frowned angrily. "Fuck that shit. You know what Wells said about them; like hell we just let them do as they please" the militia member said back to the other, likewise in that attempt to be a private, hushed tone. Then he looked at each person in the group in turn for a moment, settling his gaze on Cole finally. "Look, whether he killed you or not, you need to calm the hell down. We'll look into the situation, and if we find out he is with Ruckus we'll deal with him our way. You come at him again and I'll give you some lead acupuncture, capiche?" he told Cole.

Meanwhile, the other militia man turned around to face the killer in question, then gently prodded the guy with his foot. "Come on, get up. You've got some explaining to do" the militia member muttered to him.

"Oh come on, that guy attacked me and I'm the bad guy?!" the man said, scrambling to get to his feet. After seeing the way the militia member was holding his submachinegun ready to shoot him, the man raised his hands up a bit. "Okay look, fine, I was in Ruckus- was. I joined them because this place is fucked up and it was safer that way; I don't even remember most of what happened while I was with them" he confessed; his tone sounded sincere, but who could say for sure if he was lying?

Library

Before Grimlock could respond, there was a beep from the computer at Miss Tairee's desk, which made her look over at it. "Oh, um, terribly sorry. I'll be able to help you in just a bit; pardon me" Miss Tairee said to Grimlock, then walked over there and looked at the screen for a moment. After reading whatever was there, she glanced up at the opaque bubble in the air, and sighed, lifting her glasses frame up to pinch the bridge of her nose.

"Alright, listen up for a moment please" Miss Tairee announced to the room, turning and looking around at those still in it. "I need to let mister Marcus out of his bubble. For your own safety I would recommend you stay clear of the center of this room for a bit. In fact, it would be best if you went upstairs until this is resolved" she informed them, then turned back to her computer and started typing in commands in preparation for this.
