"Well, yeah. Though it turns out he didn't teleport me here to kill me after all..." Curly wasn't sure how shooting an inanimate object would make any difference for whether her gun worked or not, but she could try that later, right now she was describing and showing the mystery man what apparently was a depiction of him and his story as a fictional game in another universe. Though, with the shadows it was rather hard to tell if the character in the trailer actually was the man standing here, but he certainly seemed like the kind to sneak about in the shadows given how quiet and subtle he'd been all day already.

Hotel - i just can't stop making things sad

Seeing how he had almost brought Caro to tears again, Sans went over to her and placed a hand on her shoulder.

"well look at that, i just said i didn't want to make you cry again and then end up doing exactly that, almost," he said, letting out a chucke, "guess i must be a pretty tearable guy eh?" he asked, jokingly.

He then gave her a pat on the shoulder and began moving away from her.

"anyway, since this is a hotel there should be some storage room or something like that somewhere here right? even if nobody works here, so let's see if we can find anything like that here, or we might have to check the upper floors."

Ben looked over at Twilight Sparkle, raising his eyebrows. "You're a princess?" he asked the pony, He admitted to himself, it honestly didn't surprise him, considering the very regal demeanor she kept.

He was about to answer Grimlock's question on who King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table were, when Plague Knight stepped in. He winced a little, not sure if it was a good idea to let Plague Knight know what he was doing. He conceded though.

"I'm trying to make a group of heroes to protect people in the City from danger. I think I'm calling it the, uh, City Knights," he muttered, wondering how the bomb-toting alchemist was going to react to such a name, considering he was Plague Knight.

Though they couldn't see it given the shape of his body and his tentacles in the way, Sir Redring had opened his beak to speak after Ben spoke about knights, but closed it again as he thought for a moment. "... I think knights in your world must be different from those in mine" Sir Redring muttered as he kept thinking. He then perked up as it was mentioned that Twilight Sparkle was royalty.

"Oh!? So we do indeed have royalty? And in our direct company no less?" Sir Redring asked rhetorically, then turned to face Twilight. "My apologies madam; I was unaware of your title" the octopode told her, removing his hat and taking a deeper bow.

"I don't know if everyone in the city is going to be comfortable with the term 'knight'" Miss Tairee's voice said from the center of the desks. "Although, honestly I doubt there's any word that everyone would be okay with" she then admitted.

"Well I for one think it is an excellent idea" Sir Redring piped in, 'standing' back up straight and putting his hat back on. "Though I've still no intention as of yet to join myself" he clarified, lest anyone think his endorsement was a sign of volunteering.

Outside the cinema

While Garret was busy watching the trailer video, Miss Tairee tapped another key on the holographic keyboard, and then spoke quietly. "I don't know if everyone in the city is going to be comfortable with the term 'knight'... Although, honestly I doubt there's any word that everyone would be okay with." With that done, she hit another key and then turned her attention back to Garret.

Hotel - Finding stuff

As Sans gently patted her shoulder and made another pun, Caro gave him a small smile and said, "It's OK ... I guess I'm just really sensitive so ... Please, don't tear yourself apart over it ..." She couldn't help blushing and giving him a bigger, sheepish smile at saying that.

After he moved away and suggested where they should look, she said, "OK, let's see if we can find something like that then."

She walked around a bit, until they were closer to the reception. She soon noticed a door with a sign indicating that it was a storage room. While moving to check the door, she briefly turned around and said, "This looks promising. Let's take a look ... "

The door wasn't locked and opened easily. It was a bit dark at first but she quickly found and flipped a light switch on a wall next to the door.

Inside, there were several shelves containing cleaning and maintenence supplies. More importantly at the moment, on a low shelf, there were several toolboxes in a neat row.

She then went over to one and picked it up. It was a bit heavy, but since it was such a short distance, she managed it. After setting it down, she turned to Sans, smiling as she said, "Here. See if this has what you need, Sans."

Hotel - there we go

Sans snickered at Caro's pun and once she started looking for what he asked, she soon found what he was looking for and placed a toolbox for him to check, he looked inside it to see what was there and pretty much everything he could think of was there in a good variety of sizes. Those could be useful to have around in case something comes up and they need to fix some machine.

"nice job, that's exactly what i was looking for, now we just gotta bring it up there," said Sans, " let's go, before cole ends up flooding the room or something."

Having memorized the location of the room in relation to where they were, Sans simply held on to the toolbox and teleported himself and Caro all the way back to their hotel room. They came back right next to the bed and in fact the toolbox was now placed on top of Sans', which he soon moved to the bedside table next to it.

"'kay where is he?" he askedd as he looked around the room.

Sans and Caro hadn't been gone all that long, but Cole figured that since his hair and clothes were dripping and his hat looked like it was all cleaned out of any sand, he was probably done in the shower box. He held his hat a moment, watching it fill up with water slowly, before turning it over to dump the water over his head, mimicking what he had seen some of his companions do with cleansing buckets before. He stretched out a bit, just enjoying the inside rain for a moment. It wasn't as nice as being outside in a warm rain, sitting on the grass, but it was a lot more pleasant than a lot of things he'd been exposed to during his stay in this place.

He looked down at the amulet, taking it in his hands and just studying it for a minute, turning it over in his hands. He probably shouldn't be wearing it so much...he was missing a lot of things, and there were people out there that could use his help that he couldn't hear with it on. But...it was different right now, wasn't it? Keeping it on meant that the monsters out there that might have tried to use him to hurt people couldn't find him. That was a way of helping, right?

It was so strange for it to be so silent inside, though. There were always other people, in his head, pressing against his own thoughts, demanding his attention. Being left alone inside his own head was...weird to get used to. But it was lighter, too, less like being pummeled with a constant pressure, less...pain.

He'd probably have to give up the amulet once the demon's threat was passed, though. That would be all right. Then it would be safe to help people again. Surely.

Cole glanced around the bathroom again, before catching sight of the weird white seat on the wall again. He still wanted to know what that was. He looked up at the inside rain, blinking at it hitting his face, then scooted closer, considering a moment before turning and just carefully crawling his way out of the bathing box. He'd slipped and fallen on enough wet rocks to not want to repeat the experience.

The fact that there seemed to be water all over this floor now for some reason was all the more of a cause for caution.

Cole settled himself on the floor next to the seat, making a face at it as he did. It looked to be made of some kind of slick white stone, cold and smooth to the touch. It seemed like it would be a very uncomfortable chair, all those things considered. Especially with how thin the stone of the seat seemed to be...

Wait, what was...

Cole reached out and pulled at the thin covering, and didn't quite know what to make of the fact that this revealed some sort of bin of very clear water. There was...a hole at the bottom of it, in fact. He leaned a little closer, taking a moment to brush some drops of water from his soaked hair away, and squinted down at it.

How in the world could there be a hole in the bottom of a basin but still water sitting in it?

A quick glance all around the chair didn't reveal any solutions to this particular puzzle, leaving Cole staring curiously at the hole again. What sort of magic would there be to hold water into a hole? Some kind of spell...or perhaps a rune? He knew there were mages that had created runes to warm water for some reason, and he'd seen some that worked to create barriers for non-mages, to protect them in battle. Dorian and Solas had even made some to keep Sera out of their bedrooms after the last time the young elf had hidden dozens of lizards in each of their bedrolls. So blocking a hole to keep water from seeping out wasn't impossible.

A rune like that might actually be a very handy item to have, actually! What was the point of hiding such an artifact at the bottom of a bowl of water, then? Sans or Caro could use it to help protect themselves in any battles that would surely be coming in the next days. At the very least, it was simply too valuable to leave just keeping a broken basin from leaking out.

Now to just figure out where in the seat it was hiding, and get it out of there.

By the time Sans and Caro would arrive back in the room, the sopping wet spirit had already managed to remove the tank's lid and was currently splashing his hands around inside the back of the toilet, a puzzled expression on his face. They would also notice the shower was still running nearly full-blast with tepid water, and the bathroom floor, while not flooded, was almost completely covered in puddles.

Twilight turned and waved when Plague Knight and a new entity entered the library.

Ben then showed interest in Twilight's status. "Yep. I'm Equestria's Princess of Friendship."

Redring then made an over-elaborate bow when he learned this knowledge. Twilight turned her head in embarrassment, not being used to such gestures.

"Please, that's not necessary. I have no authority here, so you really don't need to treat me any differently than the others."

Plague Knight then expressed in interest, and asked about crests.

Hotel bedroom - Aftermath

Fortunately, the toolbox contained what Sans needed. After verifying that, he instantly brought them back to their room. However, Cole was nowhere in sight within the room itself.

"I don't know ... I hope he didn't end wandering off ..." It was then that she heard something, the sound of rushing water very nearby. Remembering Sans' joking comment, she then said, "I think I've an idea of where he is ... "

She then headed to the bathroom. With the door left open ajar, it was easy to confirm her suspision. There was Cole and he was ... Dripping wet and messing around with the tank of a toilet, for some reason. In the back of the room, the shower had been left running very strongly and the floor was looking very wet.

Caro could only stand there, staring and blinking in utter confusion at the whole scene, before recovering and carefully stepping into the bathroom, trying to avoid stepping into any puddles. Once she was closer to the spirit, he somewhat hesitantly and mostly confusedly asked, "Um, Cole ... What are you doing?"

Hotel Room - well at least i wasn't too off

Hearing the sound of water, Sans followed Caro into the bathroom just to witness the scene of a wet spirit trying to do something with the toilet, the whole scene just being such a mess that wasn't surprising in the least but still great to look at.

"i would make a joke here but i think there's enough toilet humor here already," he said, shrugging.

Cole looked up at the sound of Caro's voice, seeing she and Sans had returned, seemingly safely, and he offered a rather cheerful smile. "You're back! That is good! I'm glad you did come back!" He then turned his attention back to the toilet, peering into the tank again. "I am trying to find the barrier rune that keeps the water inside this bowl despite the hole in it, but I can't find where it is. I thought if I found it, one of you could use it to protect yourself from attacks."

He sat back down on the wet floor, almost looking as though his frown were a pout. Apparently the water everywhere, his own wet hair and clothes, and the running shower didn't seem worth explaining.

Ben frowned. "I don't think I've ever met a princess before. Now that I think about it, I met a king of monsters a while back. But I've never met a princess. It's... kinda humbling." However, Twilight asked to be treated normally and he grinned, shrugging.

"Fine by me, Twilight." Plague Knight asked about symbols. "Hold on, man. Before you jump to the cause and all, I really like how cool you are with all this, but you gotta understand. Heroes save people, they don't blow them up. If we're gonna fight evil, we're gonna stop them, not kill them. If we have to kill them it should be after every other option is tried and we don't have any other ones. Got it?" he asked, seeing if Plague Knight would follow.

Hotel Room - Attempting (water) damage control

Cole was so cheery at seeing them back that Caro couldn't help putting on a large and warm smile as she said, "We're glad to see you again too, Cole. And of course we came back. Why wouldn't we? I hope we didn't take too long though." Then her expression gained a confused frown as Cole explainec what he was trying to do with the toilet. With that in mind she added, "Um, magic has nothing to do with that ... I think that it's just a simple mechanism at the bottom that keeps the water there ... " Although she did have wonder how things like sinks, showers and toilets even worked in this city. It usually floated in the middle of a void, so normally, there was no water anywhere to draw from and into.. And today's ocean probably didn't have anything to do with, since those things presumably still worked normally on any other day. It was probably best to ignore that confusing reality for now ...

She then took another look at Cole and his wet clothes, as well as the wet floor. She quickly went over to a racket on the wall and grabbed a towel, then handed that to him. "Now come on. Get up from that wet floor and try drying yourself a bit with this. Did you try to take a shower? Because next time you do that, you should take off your clothes before you do it ... " She then took another look at the shower, which was still running. "And once you are done, you should also turn off the water."

She took off her shoes and then entered the box, being carefully not to get her robes wet and turned off the shower. She then made her way back to Cole and Sans.

Hotel Room - at least there wasn't a flood

"at least we don't have to worry about paying water bills or even having to clean this mess, we're just staying here for one night, speaking of which, i think we're done for today, right?" asked Sans, walking back to his bed now that the whole situation with Cole was being handled by Caro.

Once back to his bed he took the walkie-talkie out of the dimensional box and began taking it apart using some of the tools in the toolbox in order to have a better idea of how it worked and how to make his phone be able to get the same type of signal from it.

Cole watched Caro as she brought him a towel, then turned off the water in the bathing box, telling him to try and dry off. He considered that, then took off his hat long enough to rub at his hair a bit, somehow managing to get it even more tangled and scruffy looking than normal, sticking up every which way. He wrung out his shirt right there as well, letting the excess water go to the floor, and dutifully wiped at his shirt with the towel some more as well.

"Done for today? Oh, yes. The day will change soon. That...all right." Cole followed after Sans, offering Caro another smile, heading over to the corner where he'd stashed his things earlier and sitting down there, still trying to dry off his clothes with the towel. "Maybe tomorrow won't be too bad. The day when I got here first was nice enough. Everything was like home to me."

Viola I Resort (Viola's Room) I Checking Out

Searching for my room within the City took quite a while, with the way the City works. It almost reminded me of my former house, only instead of the ever-shifting rooms, this one extends to city blocks. Thankfully, I managed to find the hotel in due time, before the transition to the next day occur.

I got inside the room and changed back to the simple white dress that I used to wear. The room is the same as ever, with the lights on and the window showing the sea beyond it and the night sky. For a day focused on relaxation, it certainly did its intended purpose. It was great, if you ask me.

Now then, time to check the items that I'd left in the room.

My knife was still here, no surprise there. After all this time, this old thing is still with me. I should just get rid of it, truth be told, though now I actually have a legitimate excuse to carry it around as a self-defense weapon for the upcoming day challenge. Still best that I hid it with a piece of cloth and into my pocket, away from prying eyes.

And an anti-demon amulet that's still within my possession two days ago. While I saw and heard that the demon was killed just a day ago, you can never be too sure. Additionally, he may not be the only demon that I may encounter. It's safer that I wear it in the mean time.

After that's done, I guess it's time for me to return to the library. With one final look at my room, I bid it farewell and made my way there.

Viola I Library (1st Floor) I Back Here Again

I'm back here again, after spending the majority of the day in the beach. Once entering into the library, I saw a few familiar people I recognized on sight alongside other not-so-familiar faces. The one that I find most recognizable however was Ben, especially after what happened today. Wonder what he thinks of me now?

For now, I simply sat at one of the nearby couches provided, stifling a yawn. It has been quite a day and I could use some rest, but I would like be up just a bit longer, if only just to eavesdrop upon anything important going on with the group's conversation.

Outside the cinema

Garrett leaned forward to watch the trailer. Of course, he didn't know what "medieval" meant, or what the "fantasy" genre was, or what "steampunk" was, and was unfamiliar with the concept of a "trailer". Still, the short film that Miss Tairee showed him was easy to understand... it was unmistakably his home City, and the masked figure was definitely him, although the images were stylized and looked more like moving paintings than anything real. Garrett suspected they were animated by magic.

After the film finished playing, Garrett crossed his arms in front of his chest and for a while said nothing, deep in thought.

"Not sure what a 'videogame' is," he eventually said, "but there's apparently a whole series of 'em... Something like a cycle of myths, huh?" A smug smile appeared under his hood. "It sure feels good to be appreciated through something more impressive than a wanted poster."

He leaned back, stroking his chin and talking more to himself than to Tairee. "If these 'movies' really recount events as they happened, the Keepers would probably be delighted to get their hands on them... Sure beats straining your eyes trying to make sense of ancient poetry."

"Wait. Do these movies and books only relay the past, or do they contain any visions of the future?," he asked Tairee.

Jack nodded at Ara's question, that minor feeling fluttering in his gut again. "Yep. Right down to the moment, pretty much. Kind of weird, now that I think about it." A faintly pensive look crossed his face, before quickly disappearing.

The Winter Spirit's brow furrowed slightly in bemusement. What could she have gotten from his past that gave her an idea for the city? It wasn't anything bad was it? "Uh... Ok. What's-"

Before he could ask, Tairee was already up and leaving the theatre. However, Sophie spoke before he could move to follow her. He looked at the girl, smiling gently. "I suppose I have. But, you know what." His smile turned into a grin. "I think it was worth it."

Seeing most everyone already leaving with Miss Tairee, Jack rested his hand briefly on Sophie's shoulder. "Come on, kiddo. Let's go see what else is going on."

Leaving the cinema, he made his way towards where the librarian was standing with Curly and the hooded man. He added a mental note for another prank for the young blonde woman, for the bleach comment. Of course, he didn't really mind it, but it gave him an excuse.

Stepping close, Jack focused on Tairee. "So, what's this idea that you had?"

Then, he turned to Curly and lifted an eyebrow. The whole time he had seen her, she'd had her headphones on. "Isn't it uncomfortable wearing headphones that long?"

"Nonsense madam! It's not a matter of authority, it's a matter of principle! I could not live with myself if I did not show proper respect to kind hearted royalty; even those from another world! Just from the way you humbly insist that others be treated as equally as you, I can tell you are deserving of your title!" Sir Redring said to Twilight, rather boisterously. "I can only hope the opportunity comes that I may prove to you my courage and skill, just as I have to many nobles of my own world" he continued, his tone in a way that was sincere and not really bragging.

He then turned his attention towards Ben and Plague Knight, and seemed to think about something. He moved over to where the remaining art supplies were, and picked up a spare piece of paper and a silver marker. "Why restrict it to only one crest?" Sir Redring asked, though more like he was thinking out loud as he drew something; the outline of a long triangle much like the one Ben had made, but with nothing in the middle. "Is it not the desire of every true knight to have his own family crest to display? Perhaps this shape could be the symbol of your order altogether, but allow each member to fill it with their own banner" the octopode suggested, holding up the piece of paper.

Outside the cinema

Miss Tairee seemed to shuffle on her feet slightly, clearly feeling a bit awkward about the subject Garret had just brought up. "That's... Not as easy to explain, and unfortunately my boss won't allow me to get into the full details yet anyway" Miss Tairee began, sounding a little apologetic. "What I can tell you for now, since you'd be able to find out on your own if you went looking hard enough, is that yes you can find information about the future of your universe- but only of a timeline where you're no longer in it. A 'what if' if you will, about if you never came back from being taken here" the librarian explained to Garret.

With that she turned to Jack for a moment. "You can't guess? I'll be granting myself the abilities of one of your friends; and give everyone in the city a nice gift" Miss Tairee said to Jack.

Sadness gazed out at the water. She wasn't as inclined as Zelda to get her feet wet—her slippers were perfectly comfortable, thanks!—but there was something oddly peaceful about the view, considering where they were and what they had just been through.

When Zelda stopped to sit, Sadness stopped too, though she remained standing. She stood at Zelda's shoulder like a bodyguard, albeit one who was still hardly taller than her charge when she was sitting down.

"There's been a lot of talk about Old Feather Beak today," she said with a worried look. "I came across two people fighting about him in the street...well, sort of fighting, and sort of about him. I guess...it took me a while to get involved.

"I'll be okay," Sadness said decisively. "I just have a feeling..."

"I just wanna make a picture that symbolizes how we protect the people of the City." At that moment, Viola came into the room and Ben looked at her, brow furrowed, and then turned away from her as if he didn't want to see her. Hotel Room - Wrapping up for the night - End(?) of Day 10

Caro picked up her shoes and followed Sans and Cole back into the bedroom proper. Her friends were right. The day was probably about to change, in fact, she was surprised it hadn't already. Or maybe it already had but the change was not that big or just not noticable right now.

She then walk over to the bed where Fried was still resting on and dropped her shoes besides. Then as gently picked up the sheets, being carefully to not disturbing the almost asleep dragon, she turned to her friends and while smiling, said, "Yeah, you guys are right. We should try to get as much rest as we can before things get serious again. I hope tomorrow is not that bad too though," She suddenly let out a big yawn and so after placing her phone on the bedside again, next to the amulet that was still there, she carefully slipped onto the bed and then carefully the covers towards herself, as she added, "W-Well, we all really should get to bed soon, s-so ... "

She then carefully laid on the bed and placed the covers over herself. Meanwhile, Fried sleepily crawled over the sheets until he was closer to her. After laying her head on the pillow, she turned around and with a sleepy smile and another yawn, said, "G-good night, everyone ... " After getting their responses, she would then close her eyes. The day had been quite eventful, so she would soon be out like a light and resting peacefully.

Sans looked over to Cole as he decided to just sit on a corner, mildly curious, "by the way cole, you're supposed to sleep on the other bed over there, trust me it's a lot more comfortable than the floor," he said while tinkering with the walkie-talkie, "it's better if you can dry yourself a little before it"

He then looked over to Caro as she went to bed first, she sounded really tired so it's no surprise she went first.

"g'night, caro,"

Cole watched as Caro climbed onto the bed that Fried was already on, tilting his head a little, looking somewhat confused by it, but said nothing until Caro spoke, and Sans wished her good night. "S-sleep well," he said softly, looking back at Sans. He was silent for a bit to let Caro be able to fall asleep in peace, still sort of rubbing at his wet clothes with the towel, just watching the skeleton work for a bit before he spoke, still sounding a little uncertain.

"I-I always sleep on the floor...and this one is very nice, it has a warm carpet and everything. Caro and Fried don't have to share a bed if they don't want to."
