Outside the anti-human headquarters

The elf frowned slightly and went back inside. There was about ten seconds of silence before Rex and Ben could faintly hear the naga girl yell "WHAT?!" from somewhere inside. A few seconds later the door opened again, and the repto-mammal glared at them. "You two again?! the naga muttered, and briefly leaned back into the door. "Someone keep an eye on the fire escapes! This might be another distraction!" she hollered inside.

Then she turned back, her arms folding. "I thought you'd be smarter than to come bothering us twice in the same day. Oh, but you've got some way to convince the super xenophobe to not kill us; yeah that seems likely" the naga girl said sarcastically.

Somewhere near the former rally

"Every direction!" the boy answered Gon, throwing his hands out and then starting to laugh. "You should've seen them running; it was great" he added, still laughing.

"I was being facetious. Apologies." Sawyer nodded with a small, equally apologetic smile.

"I wouldn't know how it is to have trouble being a human. I guess being born a human and staying human for my entire life made me resistant to most difficulties."

"Can anything be done about the clawing in question?" She questioned, her brows furrowing a little and back to her usual, neutral expression.

Not helpful at all.

Gon sighed when he heard the answer. He's sure that he won't get anywhere with a vague answer. But it's best if he tried.

"Well, thanks anyway kid."

He raised the neck gaiter up.

"I'll see you around."

The assassin walked down the street to see if he can spot any of these so-called monsters.

The Mad Mask looked at the stranger who was talking to him and yelled. "The Mad Mask is not a child! The Mad Mask is a teenager!"

He then put one of his hands on the bottom of his mask and started stroking it like it had a beard connected to it and spoke a little quieter. "But yet you speak the truth, the Mad Mask does not know where the Mad Mask is, so the best thing to do is ask the ones who know. Does 'the girl at the desk' know where the Mad Mask currently is?"

Ben frowned deeper at Rex, before the naga from before came out. She accused them of lying, or creating a distration. Ben shook his head.

"He's not lying. You can trust us. To prove that we're good..." He offered his wrists to the naga, holding them close as if they were cuffed. "If we pull any funny business, I'll be the insurance against that," he assured her. "It's not like I can fight back or anything. Today I'm helpless."

"Now now dear madame, do not be so hasty," Plague Knight said, taking this time to reveal himself and walk up to the naga girl in an effort to calm her. "In fact, we did indeed convince Marcus to curb his overzealous violent streak to, at the very least, attack purely in the defense of either humans or himself.

"The only condition that he require is that your group change your symbol," the knight explained. "It was apparent to us from his explanation that the upside down omega symbol is something of a religious symbol to him and his civilization, an icon to the Emperor he worships and a symbol of hope for all humanity in his universe dating back ten thousand years at least. By crossing it out, as your current symbol does," he said, pointing to the symbol paint on a nearby wall, "he considers it a deep spiritual attack on him and those he protected. Further use of that symbol will no doubtedly provoke him into attacking you group on sight, which was something he had been doing before your group organized apparently, though only now you are giving him an actual reason to if you continue using your current marker."

Cole grimaced a bit. "Yes. There are things people have struggled with explaining to me, because they have always been human. They do not know how not to be." He glanced to Sawyer. "What do you do when your stomach claws? Is that normal?"

"I'd assume I'm sick and rather worryingly so." Sawyer nodded. Cole was right: she had no experience with, well, not existing. To her, the clawing in her belly would indicate something she wasn't normally acclimated with.

Streets, with Mad Mask

"Where we are? I can explain it to you right now... not that I know much myself. As far as I understand we've been kidnapped by some god or wizard who put us all here in his dimension... for his amusement." Garrett shook his head in aggravation. "At the library they'll give you more information about the local rules. Don't get scared, some folks around here look... rather odd, but they shouldn't give you trouble."

"...And will you cut it out with 'Mad Mask this, Mad Mask that'? It gets old."

"The Mad Mask has been told that he speaks in the third person and that it is annoying. But the Mad Mask is allowed to talk however the Mad Mask wants." He said to the stranger.

"But if you are correct that some god like wizard summoned both of us then the Mad Mask shall find him and punish him for kidnapping the Mad Mask." He said angrily.

He then asked as polite as he could. "Now then. which way is the library?"

Koishi briefly shouted "GREA-", before calming down, looking over her shoulder in embarrassment and talking much more quietly. "...Great! We can't even hurt each other right now, so it'll be hard for me to decapitate someone!"

She looked at Grimlock, more importantly his relatively stubby T-Rex arms, and said, "I'd ask if you want to learn with me, but I'm not sure if you can hold a sword with those hands."

Outside the library.

Ringabel listened to most of the others standing there speak in turn, content to let them talk while he stewed in his own distress. He smiled briefly at Mary, chuckling a little at her disappointment. "But just think, my dear — you only have this to look forward to! Don't fret just yet, hm?"

Then the little blonde girl spoke, and as Ringabel turned his gaze towards her, a few emotions briefly flickered over his face; curiosity, consideration, and then finally a slightly disturbed look, which he quickly hid with one of his trademark smiles, the kind of smile that you would flash at someone you're passing on the street to reassure them of your harmlessness...which was then replaced with a frown, as Zelda mentioned this 'storyteller god.' "Ah, so my guess wasn't too far off," he muttered, folding his arms. "A trickster wizard has deigned to play with our lives, after all." He glanced towards the library, nodding. "I'll be sure to approach this librarian at some point...my curiosity grows by the minute."

The pink-haired girl — who introduced herself as Caro (and her dragon as Fried? He wasn't sure he heard her correctly) — spoke then, and he held up his hands in a dismissing gesture. "Think nothing of it! Truly, I should be the one to apologize. I never wished to disturb either of you with my wily gaze, my dear." He then grinned wider. "Ah, yes! I've also forgotten to introduce myself. How rude of me."

He suddenly bowed deeply and theatrically, letting his pompadour bounce fantastically in time with the action. "I am Ringabel, or so they call me. I have no memory of my past, you see — an unfortunate situation which I have decided to completely ignore," he lied, waving his hand in another gesture of dismissal. "It's a pleasure to meet all of you lovely strangers — and I hope that this even stranger situation doesn't ruin any potential relationships we might have." Here, Ringabel glanced at Zelda for a brief second...but then he paled a little, glancing away in...shame, almost? Something like that, it seems.

At this point, he also noticed that most of the people around were glancing curiously at the little blue girl, and this caused Ringabel to do so as well, though his gaze was filled more with confusion than anything else. Something had happened with this girl that he had apparently missed out on, and from the looks of it, he probably didn't want to know specifics.

Then the skeleton spoke again, and Ringabel's stomach took that opportune moment to loudly growl, eliciting a laugh from the young man. "Indeed I haven't! It has been a long day for me, admittedly." His smile flickered. "A...very...long day. So some food would be appreciated, if you'll allow me to eat with you, as well."

Streets near the former rally

The problem with Gon's search was that there was tons of non-humans around. About one of every two people in the city weren't human, and lots of people were just wandering about the streets enjoying their violence-free day in various ways. So there were plenty of non-humans, sometimes in groups, sometimes hanging out with humans, and sometimes alone. None were in any groups notable enough to be worth specific mention, so there was simply no way of telling who was a part of the gathering the boy mentioned and who wasn't, without going around and asking blatantly and intrusively.

Outside the anti-humans' HQ

"Oh yeah, why don't I just give you a guided tour to where all of our goodies are kept so you can rob them later" the naga girl said sarcastically to Ben. "I can't hurt you today either, so keeping you here wouldn't carry any threat" she added, shaking her head.

After Plague Knight spoke, she lowered her eyebrows and thought for a few moments. "Wait a minute, you really think we can trust a man who was going around murdering people for no other reason than what species they were?" the naga girl asked, somewhat rhetorically. "Even if we did that, I bet he'll just find some other 'reason' to kill us on sight" she continued on, folding her arms, "besides, you're really going to side with the man who's now preparing to murder people over a symbol? What, did we huwt his feewings?"

Inside the library, first floor

Miss Tairee sighed and rubbed her forehead. "Yes, I can help you here" Miss Tairee said to Mad Mask. "I should really ask my boss about enforcing a rule where I only have to help people who respect the quiet rules of a library" she thought out loud to herself.

Ben frowned, furrowing his brow and sighing. "We're trying to save you guys. We've tried to stop this guy a bunch of times and he keeps coming back, the only way we can stop him for good is to make him want to stop! Believe me. I want to beat him up as much as you do. But there's no point. As long as we're in this city he's here, and as long as he wants to keep attacking people he will. Now we're offering a way to make him stop and you shut it down. What do you want us to do?! Sit back and do nothing while he goes on a rampage again?! As a hero I can't let him do that!"

Outside the Library

Zelda caught that brief glance in her direction and frowned. Unfortunately, it looked like Ringabel was getting ideas already. He did have the courtesy to not stare, however; if anything, he seemed rather ashamed of himself. That was one thing he had over Groose, she supposed.

"My name is Zelda," she said, with her usual smile and bow of the head, "It's a pleasure to meet you, Ringabel."

She briefly wondered what kind of name that was, but then again he'd mentioned having no memories of his past. Maybe he just liked the name despite how silly it sounded? She didn't dwell on it and moved to Sans's suggestion.

"I haven't eaten since before the Wing Ceremony this morning," she explained, "And everything that's happened between now and then has almost made me forget about food. But now that you mention it I think it's a good idea. I have no idea what's good around here, though. Or what's even normal around here. This place isn't anything like Skyloft."

At that point, her eyes settled on Sadness. The emotional embodiment was obviously upset, and it wasn't much of a stretch to assume that it was because Sans refused her help. To be more exact, it was likely because Sans refused her help despite being the sort that probably needed it. Zelda doubted she'd be any more successful than Sadness was in regards to the skeleton, but maybe she could help Sadness feel a little better?

"Do you think you're going to be all right, Sadness?" she asked.

Outside the anti-human group's headquarters

The snake-girl yelled from inside the building when she heard Ben, Plague Knight, and Rex had found a way to stop Marcus from attacking the non-humans. Ben offered himself as a insurance in case she thought the group was lying but the serpent rejected his offer pointing out that she and her followers had no way of hurting him.

When she heard Plague Knight explain that the upside down Omega was a really important symbol in Mark's culture, she accused them of thievery.

"Why would we even rob you? What good is money here?"

Ben tried to change her mind by saying that the three had done everything in their power to stop the Ultramarine before but he just came back after every fight. Naturally, Snake-girl, accused them of siding with the marine instead of his victims.

"I know following his orders sucks but you have to be practical, if the only thing stopping him from killing each and everyone of you is changing your emblem, what do you have to lose? Might as well change a few graffitis in case he actually lives up to his side of the bargain"

"Besides, an upside down Omega is not the most obvious symbol for humanity. Newer people are going to be confused. How about a crossed out stickman figure? Like the ones they have on restrooms"

Outside Library

So now Zelda was wanting to comfort Sadness, instead of vice versa when the two of them first walked up and attracted people like magnets. This meeting hadn't gone as planned.

Sadness knew better than to try and hide her feelings. She looked at Zelda, silently appreciating Mary's hand on her head. "Maybe. I just want everyone here - " quick eye-cut towards Sans - "to be all right first."

As soon as there was a lull in conversation, she hastily jumped in, mostly expecting the others to talk over her (what usually happened when she tried to interrupt). "If it means anything, I'd like to see if I can eat anything? I think Miss Tairee can help us with that..." Sadness pointed feebly at the library just behind them, the thing Mary and she had spent the whole morning trying to find.

"Yes," Plague Knight answered the naga quite bluntly. "Yes you did. Man was on the verge to tears when he first laid eyes on one of your groups' discarded signs. But as Ben and Rex say, this is a matter of practically. Defeating him is a monumentous task in of itself, the resurrecting nature of this city completely invalidating any victories against him, so if he is willing to curb his violent tendencies in any way that is peaceful, it is one gift horse that cannot have its mouth examined.

"I also agree with Rex on the matter of the symbol itself being way too vague," the knight continued. "Plus I bet some of the members of your own group may question the wisdom of using the crossed out symbol of a murderous, xenophobic behemoth who could theorecticly destroy armies with his bare hands as their insignia and display it proudly like a highly visible target."

How to end a life, with Rick

"S-so lemme pose a question here, HK. A completely, 100% hypothetical" said Rick, who was now riding in the arms of a decidedly uncomfortable-looking Morty. "There's this guy wh-who's been going around... a big blue asshole, hates everything, from some backwards universe where humanity regressed into te-tech-fetishizing xenophobes. I dunno," he continued, "far as I know, he's got some, uh, some ceramic-composite suit of nuclear power armor, genetic modifications right out the ass... let's say we wanted to take him down." Rick paused and wriggled his way up onto Morty's shoulders.

"Geez, Rick, I mean, uh, maybe we should, you know, do what you said and just leave him alone." Morty tugged at his collar as he spoke, trying to sound brave. On his "list of people he never wanted to see again", Marcus rated somewhere just above that Zeep guy. "Like, uh, I dunno, Rick, could we even kill him if we wanted? Cause, y-you know, he'll just come back, and then..."

"It's a thought experiment, Morty," said Rick, his voice oozing condescension. "I mean, obviously we're not going to do this in real life. It's all on paper. See, I figure that we'd need to rig up some kind of electromagnetic pulse weapon or something, t-turn that armor into, oh, a real big old useless tin can. I dunno, what do you think?"

"A, a, electro...whatever? I dunno, Rick," said Morty as they rounded the corner and came across the library, "I dunno, Rick, I mean, t-this sounds pretty detailed for a thought experiment."
