Ringabel was lost.

He didn't entirely comprehend how exactly it had happened; one moment, he was heading for the center of the city (relying on an internal compass that had been honed by years of country travel, some of which he didn't even remember), and the next, he...was here. Wherever here was. It was a street that looked exactly identical to the other streets that he had been stumbling down for the past few minutes or so, and that was precisely the problem; all of these samey, not-quite-cobblestone (for the life of him, Ringabel could not place the material used to pave these odd roads) streets blended together for him into an incoherent mess of gray mush, forcing his eyes to squint and his mind to churn.

Ringabel sighed, coming to a stop on the sidewalk he was currently plodding along on, and took a look around at his surroundings. These large, gray edifices to human achievement did nothing for the dandy; he was used to witnessing the color and vibrancy of cities filled to the brim with magic...and ladies, of course. With a shrug, Ringabel dismissed these wistful thoughts and turned his attention to something else that had caught his ear — voices on the wind, around the corner of the street he currently stood on. Tense, scared, and questioning — someone was in trouble.

With a frown, the pompadour strode towards the end of the street and around the corner, determined to investigate these goings-on...

Outside the library.

...and found himself face-to-face with what appeared to be an enormous library, the likes of which the young man had never seen before. He even felt his jaw involuntarily snap open at the sight of it, which he hastily went to correct. Standing near the entrance to the library were the ones the voices belonged to, no doubt, and a strange sight they were, indeed — an anthropomorphic skeleton, a flying pyramid, a dragon, a child coated in blue (or so it appeared), and a couple young women that caused Ringabel's left eyebrow — his "flirting eyebrow" — to shoot up...just to name a few (i.e., I don't know if that's everyone).

"Ah, so there are ladies here, then!" he said to himself, a grin that only a lifetime casanova could conjure gracing his face. "This city may not be a lost cause after all. Though," he sighed, "I suppose finding a way back should be my priority at the moment. But magic is strange like that. Time back home could still be frozen for all I know."

Musing upon his own mutterings, Ringabel shrugged. What could it hurt? If this truly were a magic realm conjured by an enemy to confound him, then the best way to beat it would be to roll with the punches and not let anything affect him. He had been doing as such for years, after all, to deal with the impending weight of his past that threatened to crush his mind; he could do it here, too.

With that in mind, the young man — still unaware that he truly looked like a teenaged version of himself (which, to be fair, doesn't look all that different) — began to cross the street to get to the library, raising a gloved hand and smiling a cheery greeting that still didn't quite reach his eyes.

"Hello, there, strangers!" he called, shaking his upraised hand a bit. "Quite the eclectic bunch, are we? I don't suppose any of you know what's going on here, either, hmmm?" He raised this question with the same singsong lilt that accompanied all of his flirting, for obvious reasons; he made sure to shoot smiling glances towards any lady that appeared to be mature in the group, accompanying said smiles with a twitch of his glorious pompadour. "Also, I do hope I'm not interrupting anything. That would be most unfortunate," he added, glancing between the distressed skeleton and the child in blue currently standing over him.

Outside Library->Inside Library

The tortilla chip thing gave Ben a stern warning. He didn’t seem to be phased by that and told Ranma and Lune to enter the library. Before she entered the library, Lune saw a dandy blond guy attempt to flirt with her and simply rolled her eyes. It almost reminded her of that Irm guy. Isn't Irm already in a committed, albeit on-and-off, relationship with the producer of the defunct Huckebein line? Does he like being yelled at by Ring?

As Lune entered the library, Ranma remarked on how the library wasn’t what she was expecting. “Yep”, whispered Lune to Ranma. She didn’t want to break the peacefulness this library has to offer. Although that dragon briefly ruined that yesterday, this library remained quiet for the two days Lune had been there. “This library really has it all. If you ask nicely, you might get something real neat.”

For now, Lune needed to do some research on the various non-human species residing in this city. After all, Sun Tzu said to know yourself and to know your friends and foes in order to achieve 1,000 victories.

Inside Library

"With the huge collection here, I'm not surprised." Ranma quipped back in a stage whisper with a barely repressed glint in her eyes, absolutely giddy at all the possible reading materials at her disposal. "Ya think they got stuff like martial arts manuals or scrolls? The really old kind written by the old masters and all?!" The neogirl all but squeed, palpable excitement roiling off of her once she realized that there might be techniques from other universes. Truth be told, Saotome Ranma was a huge martial arts nuts due to her dream of being the best. Though the fact that most martial arts she learned over the course of her life were... mixed bag to say the least. What she wouldn't give to be able to just hunker down and learn something that... not crazy. "Man, I hope they don't have anything like being thrown in a pit of cats or something like martial arts tea ceremony..."

Outside the Library

Caro smiled in relief at the fact that their combined efforts seemed to have been enough to convince Mary that wasn't dangerous and thus calm her down.

" Well, I glad that you better now, " she replied. She was about to reply to Mary's comment a huge dragon attacking them earlier, which did sound scary and was probably why the other girl had reacted the way she did to Fried, but then Mary stopped dead in her tracks and gained a really surprised look.

After she asked her question, Caro could see why Mary had acted so surprised, if she hadn't heard that particular piece of information before. " A-And yes, apparently, no one can get hurt today. I haven't got myself in any situation where I could have been hurt, so I can't confirm from personal experience, but that was what Sans told me when we meet, " she explained to the other girl.

At some point while she was talking to Mary, Caro had seen Sadness pass by her, presumably going to Sans, to fulfill his request. As she was currently with back turn towards where those two were, she didn't iniatilly notice what happened between them. However, once she heard Sans quite distressed voice, she almost immediately turned around and bound towards where her newfound companion and friend was.

Once she got there, she could see that Sans really distressed. His eyes and voice both held much more sorrow than when she had asked about his home and probably aciddently triggered bad memories. She also noticed that he was crying. She hadn't seeing the moment when Sans and Sadness had touched, but she had managed to catch from the way the skeleton had been saying it that the blue girl was somehow involved.

There was the fact that whatever had happened seemed to have startled Fried, since he taken flight again and that he seemed to be somewhat glaring at Sadness, mostly in annoyance rather than anger.

However, for time being, she was more concerned with the state that Sans was in than what may have caused. It was true that she hadn't known for that long and that he had pranked a lot when they had met, but Caro found that she cared about him already. As such, for the moment, she chose to slowly approach him, attempting to gently place her hand on his shoulder once she reached and said worryingly, " S-Sans? Are you OK? W-What happened?"

It was at this point that a newcomer, a teenaged boy, or at least what he appeared to be today, spoke to their group. When Caro briefly turned het head towards him, she couldn't help noticing that he seemed to looking rather ... intensively at Mary. She chose to ignore that for the time, since they had morr pressing matters at hand.

" Ummm ... H-Hello there. I'm s-sorry , please excuse us for a bit. We are ... preoccupied at the moment. Our friend here seems to be quite upset, " she explained to him.

The properly pranked shape, evidently not happy about the joke made on his behalf, spoke in one of the more blood-curdling voices Koishi had the displeasure of hearing. She stopped mid-step, the look of glee on her face frozen as she broke out in a cold sweat. Turning her head slowly to face her small adversary, she said, "I-I'm S-s-s-sorry?" Her next question to answer was replaced with the much more pertinent oh hell why did i do that in the first place.

Lune entered the library, and Koishi recognized her as the other Queen of England from before hand. If there was someone that would at least cover for her to run away, maybe it would be fellow royalty? She slowly walked towards her, and looking straight at Bill she said, "I was just trying to hit my friend here, see? She likes being h-hit with paper. Don't you, Ms. Lune?"

Grimlock; Dino mode

Library, 1st floor

Grimlock covered his mouth to stop his chuckle when Koishi struck the triangle...thing, but it was clear Grim found it funny with that goofy smile on his face. He was happy to see Koishi in a better mood, and what she did reminded him of Sideswipe...and Bumblebee when he was acting like a five year old human, but that was a different story.

His smile faded away at the creepy voice the triangle made. Like Koishi, he was shocked, but what followed next reminded him even more of Sideswipe as Koishi tried to pretend she meant to hit the Lune—who he was a little surprised to see so...grown up, was it?. He went to Koishi's side just in case the triangle decided to attack her.note  He didn't like the voice, it reminded him too much of the bad guys from Russel's horror movies.

Former anti-human rally

"Man, you gotta chill" the human boy said, chuckling and completely unconcerned even as Rex hoisted him up. "WHHHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!" he let out as Rex chucked him, tumbling through the air and then hitting the ground and rolling away down the street, the whole time completely unharmed and having a blast.

Speaking of blasts, the krogan boy ducked to the side to another part of the window as Plague Knight chucked his other water balloon, only getting partially splashed on his side. He then laughed as he threw a couple of full sized fireworks which immediately flew off in completely random directions and exploded harmlessly on nobody. Like his companion that just exited the scene via Rex catapult action, the krogan boy seemed to be having the time of his life, completely unconcerned about whether or not he got dirtied up by Plague Knight's balloons.

Somewhere behind Rex, Brother Marcus scoffed. "All this racket over just some childish playing?" Brother Marcus said, having been drawn to the scene by the sound of explosions. He turned to leave, but stopped as his foot stepped on one of the discarded signs, drawing his attention down to it and the crossed out Ultramar symbol it held. His eyes widened, then narrowed as he scowled, his whole body starting to shake slightly, and his eyes starting to water.

Inside the library

"Of course I know what's going on today" Miss Tairee said to Gon, putting on a slightly sly grin that wasn't entirely there due to the aforementioned bummed mood. "I assume though, that you also want me to tell you what's going on today? Because you could have worded that better. Today absolutely nobody can be harmed; no matter what happens you can't be killed or even have pain inflicted on you" she told him as well.

Then Ben came up and asked his own question. "Of course he knows. He knows about everything going on in this city" Miss Tairee answered, tilting her head just a bit. "I take it Rex hasn't passed on my message to you yet then. There are other groups forming in the city; those two are simply the most prominent right now. There's also a very small amount of people trying to form something like a police force or militia to keep the city from descending into a kill or be killed madhouse, but they aren't gaining any traction yet" she explained to him further. Then she couldn't help but overhear what Lune and Ranma were saying as they entered the library. Ranma's questions in particular caught her attention, since that was essentially her job.

"Your friend was not exaggerating miss. This library technically contains every book ever written in every universe, just most of it not physically here directly" Miss Tairee stated to Ranma. "That includes every martial arts scroll, both the conventional ones and the pits of cats ones" she added, typing a bit on her laptop, "is there anything in particular you're hoping to find?"

Ben crossed his arms as Miss Tairee explained to him about the different groups within the city. "So those guys who were egging buildings and blowing stuff up... they're part of some gang? Well, I can't let them run around and cause trouble. I'm a hero after all." He continued to listen, and his eyes lit up when Miss Tairee mentioned a militia being formed in the city. Finally, a chance to prove himself to be a true hero! He grinned. "Can you tell me where I can find whoever's in charge of this police force movement? I wanna go have a chat with them and tell them I'm all for it," he told her.

Kouta took the time to explore the city in his teen form. He had seen the gangs that had harassed the Seafood Shack, but he kept at a safe distance so as to not get spotted, recalling his recent mission of infiltrating Yggdrasil's research compound during Christmas...

Speaking of Yggdrasil, the he spotted the person he mistook for a Yggdrasil member, Marcus. Even though they were technically enemies, they were allies once... Well, not really. Kouta did jack and shit with the dragon and got knocked out, but hey, it's the thought that counts. He spotted him crying and approached him.

"Hey... Something the matter?"

"Oh, so you're one of those robots, huh?" said Rick, staring down at his project as he spoke.

"Wait, what? What do you mean, uh, o-one of those robots?"

Rick said nothing for a few seconds as he tapped some component or other into place. "Oh, you know, Morty, a, a, a, oh, what's the word, uh, one of those sociopathic robots you always hear about in the news." Morty mumbled something under his breath and scratched his head in confusion. "Look, Morty, the way he's, you know, insulting you based on your basic bi-biochemistry, that kind of thing; probably, you know, holds robotic life superior to everything else, yeah."

"Huh. I mean, uh, Rick, I dunno i-if socializing with this guy is, you know, the right idea for the, you know, situation..."

"What can I do for you, mu-cha-cho?" asked Rick.

Anti-human rally — Aftermath

Rex threw the "kid" with all his might but he didn't hurt him a bit, he was actually counting on that. The fact that the kid actually enjoyed the ride wasn't that surprising but Rex had expected him to land much further than he had, the kid was starting to get on his nerves. He could loose his cool if he got too angry, which meant temporary loss of his powers.

Out of one of the streets, he spotted a kid in a blue cardboard armor. He could recognize it, that shade of blue was the same as Brother Marcus' armor. Rex decided to ignore the kids since they had already ruined the rally anyway and crack a joke to forget a bit about the whole humans/non-humans fiasco.

"Mark? Oh man, I really should have brought my cellphone. This day is just getting better and better"

To his surprise, Marcus was affected by seeing the symbol of his army crossed out in several signs. It stroke a chord because Rex had never seen him like this.

"Are you... are you crying?" said Rex, genuinely shocked that the Ultrmarine wasn't the emotionless bastard he had faced on two occasions. Maybe, just maybe, Cole was right about him.

From stealthy murder of one person to massacres of hundreds. Right now, as I'm separated from my master, my programming demands that I seek an replacement master in here meanwhile....one that would be callous, selfish and murderous...and since you appear to be experienced with technology.."

A few seconds passed.

"Query: Perhaps you would be interested in being my master, if you have any one of these qualities? Mutualism: If you grant me protection from the...more heroic and idealistic of meatbags then I shall serve as your personal assassination droid, killing any meatbags you dislike or want killed in millions of ways, and following your every order obediently. "Good luck with that" Miss Tairee said to Gon as he left.

"Telling you where wouldn't exactly help you; besides, I don't know. But I can tell you who you should look for: Middle aged human fellow, so today about ten; he's got some kind of soldier uniform on, bright red coat and a hardened, round cap. I'm not sure where he'd be; last I knew he was looking for weapons since he's unarmed, somewhere to make into a headquarters, and recruits, none of which he's been getting a hold of yet" Miss Tairee explained to Ben. "I'm still not allowed to leave the library, but is there anything else I can help you with?" she asked, tilting her head just a little and looking at Ben expectantly.

Former rally location

Brother Marcus glanced up at Kouta and Rex, and with no doubt there were tears starting to form in his eyes; he was also far too angry to start any sort of bawling though. "Can you not see this?" Brother Marcus asked rhetorically, and motioned to the upside down omega symbol on his shoulderpad, the same as the ones on the discarded signs; only the ones on the signs were crossed out. "What do you think this is? A family crest? A personal logo? No, nothing so self centered or egotistical; this is the symbol of Ultramar. This symbol is revered across hundreds of Imperial worlds, by trillions of loyal citizens, and honored with over ten thousand years of achievement. But most of all, it is the symbol we Ultramarines wear into battle with pride; my brothers of the chapter carry it just as I do" the space marine tried to explain to them in a rough crash course.

"So this- this- DEFACEMENT-" Brother Marcus yelled, turning back to the sign on the ground and stomping one foot on it; pretty ineffectually given that he was currently both a normal human and about ten years old. "-Is a dishonor to all those citizens who hold it dear! It is a dishonor to ten thousand years of proud history! It is a dishonor to my comrades who have fallen in battle wearing it! And a dishonor to all Ultramarines and our primarch!" the space marine continued, seeming to lose track of the fact that he was even talking to anyone as he kept stomping on the sign, once with each proclamation.

Underneath the town of Borring in a giant spacious section of the sewers in his very, very evil lair the Mad Mask was working on his secret plans.

"Muhahahahah! Those pitiful fools! Do they really think that Mighty Mike bested the Mad Mask?" Yelled the Mad Mask. "Soon! Yes so very soon! Will the Mad Mask's plans come to fruition! And then all beauty will be destroyed!" He then laughed evilly again like he did everytime he was in his 'evil lair'.

Suddenly the Mad Mask stopped laughing and his vision started to go black. His only thought was, What! What is happening to the Mad Mask!, Then the Mad Mask disappeared.

City of ?????

The Mad Mask fell face first onto the balcony with a grunt. He then got up and started dusting off his shirt. "Grrrrr. What just happen?!?!?" He asked himself.

Anti-human rally — Aftermath

Mark explained that the crossed out logo was of his empire, one that had survived for ten thousand years. Rex could probably think of a joke but the marine sounded sincerely insulted. This was probably the last chance he had to change Marcus' xenophobic views.

"Look, I read a few books about you, Mark. You come from a world that has a lot of incredibly dangerous aliens and you had a ton of surgeries to be strong enough to use that armor and protect humans from them. But you gotta understand that these are not the aliens from your world. They are people, kind of, trying to survive in a strange city. Just like you"

It was weird to discuss the actions of a murderer "But thanks to your actions, now they are trying to protect themselves which is cool but we don't know how much they are going to take before every human becomes a potential target"

Rex got closer to Mark and finally sit down near him. It was kind of weird to have a heart to heart with a guy that had tried to kill him (twice!) but Rex had already met dozens of strange characters so he decided to just roll with it "If there is something I know about you is that you don't want innocent humans to die. The thing is, you are creating exactly the same enviroment that you were trying to avoid and you can't solve it by killing everyone, they will just come back. But you can help us solve it"

Mary - Sads the Skeleton note

Even though he was a skeleton and had no facial muscles, it was easy to tell that Sans was not just scared, but terrified of Sadness for some reason. What Mary could not understand was why. Sadness was a very nice girl, although she was a bit clumsy, and the tripping was surely an accident. Sure, she looked gloomy most of the time, and there were times where she gave people sad feelings by touching them, but other than that she was just-

...oh.

"I think I can explain what happened," she admitted, raising her hand. "You see, the thing about Sadness is-"

It was at that point that someone else showed up: a teenage boy with an unusual haircut, that approached them and greeted them politely. Mary couldn't help noticing that he smiled towards her rather often, which for some reason she didn't quite understand she found... cute? Still, they had to focus on Sans for the time being, but it wasn't okay to leave the teenager in the dark either.

"I can help you if you want," the fabricated woman told Ringabel with a smile, "but it'll have to wait for a bit. You don't mind waiting for a minute or two, right?"

Ringabel listened to both of the ladies talk with a look of detached amusement on his face, with a smile that still didn't quite reach his eyes. His gaze, serious and brooding despite the smile, centered briefly on the frightened skeleton, then the girl in blue next to him. Something about the way the skeleton appeared at the moment struck a powerful chord with the casanova; something deep inside him resonated with the emotions radiating out from the both of them, and that same smile that he was currently attempting to adopt faltered slightly.

It was then that Ringabel shook his head briefly, clearing his head of such thoughts, and looked back towards the ladies, grinning at them now (in order to show off his impeccable teeth, of course). "But of course! My patience knows no bounds, especially when it comes to waiting for lovely ladies such as yourselves," he said with a brief bow, taking a moment to glance at the distressed duo on the ground again. "Though, I don't suppose there is any way I could be of assistance? I know we have no prior connections, but I have an urge to help, nonetheless." That smile again, lighting up his face while leaving his eyes in the dark.

Inside the library

"A great help? I've barely done- aaand there he goes." Miss Tairee sighed after Ben left and flopped onto her back on the desk, the straw hat bumping forward to cover her face. She remained like this even as Bill Cipher spoke to her.

"You've been brought here for the same reason everyone else has; to help inspire my boss for his next project. Here, have a pamphlet if you'd like; seems to be all I'm good for around here" Miss Tairee said, reaching one hand over the back of the desk, feeling around for a few moments, eventually grabbing one of the pamphlets, then switching it to her other hand to hold out in the general direction Bill Cipher's voice had come from. "Is there anything else I can help you with? Conjure another pizza?" she asked, a bit sarcastically.

Violence begets violence, anti-human rally aftermath

Brother Marcus wiped his eyes and managed to regain some of his composure when Rex decided to sit down to get to his level; he still looked extremely upset and angry, but he was no longer tearing up. Once Rex was finished talking, Brother Marcus was silent for a time, and glanced back at the sign on the ground.

Meanwhile, Plague Knight's maneuver with the goo bombing of the fireworks store plastered the inside of the place, extinguishing most of the lit fuses and cutting down on the racket a lot. "Ah man, that hardly seems fair" the krogan boy said as he exited the store, his entire backside dripping with the goo; he was still grinning however. "Well played; if you can do that all the time, you'd be great fun in Ruckus" he told Plague Knight, then looked around and muttered to himself, "now where'd Franklin go?" With that, he simply started walking down the street to casually leave.

Finally, Brother Marcus began to speak. "There is... Some truth and wisdom to your words, heretic. But I cannot just ignore this insult. Many heroes of mankind have died saving Imperial lives while wearing this symbol; close friends of mine have died saving Imperial lives while wearing this symbol. Now these filthy xenos are using a mockery of it to specifically rally together against humans; it would be a grave dishonor of their memory if I were to simply let this go" Brother Marcus said, his tone certainly getting a bit threatening.

He turned his gaze back to Rex. "I am no fool to think that they would listen to reason from me, even if I were willing to give it. But if these filthy xenos can be convinced to cease the use of this vandalism, then I will... Consider standing down to defensive rules of engagement," Brother Marcus told him, struggling internally at the thought of not trying to murder all the aliens all the time, "take action only against those that attack myself or other humans."

Rolling around at the speed of plot, with Ben

Moving around so quickly certainly helped with seeing more of the city, but still could not escape the shifting of the streets, and Ben did find himself passing by the same places a few times; sometimes from another direction without having turned. So many people were out and about today; so many interesting characters to take in: Those catgirls from the diner, Redring the Octopode, (currently about the size of a baseball) Brother Marcus to give a wide berth, a caucasian boy in a fancy red coat and tan helmet talking to an Indian boy in fancy clothes and purple turban, the naga girl and a few others from the anti-human rally, some youngling goblins, Braston and Silnae...
