I can't wait for Sansa Stark to burst out of the water screaming, "I AM FIRE AND LIFE INCARNATE! NOW AND FOREVER, I AM THE PHOENIX!".
It's just a rumor for now. Fox hasn't even announced the movie yet.
In actual good news!
Deadpool 2's getting written by The Martian and The Cabin in the Woods' Drew Goddard!
Sweet sister Mary Francis! Writing, executive producing and appearing as Deadpool?! Ryan Reynolds is super-committed to X-Force!
Wow I didn't think the xforce film was ever going to gain traction, considering how long it's been in the pipeline.
I'm watching Xmen Apocalypse again, and an issue my brother had with the movie is still there. I asked on the original thread, but I can't really remember what was said, so I'm asking again here:
So, how is Quicksilver able to move beyond his normal speed?
Things were already slowing down as he got there, indicating he was already moving at super speed. Then he suddenly starts moving at Super Speed...while already at Super Speed.
Now, my argument is that he's just picking up the pace. When he got there, he was likely at what for him is a leisurely jog; fast enough to get him to where he needs to go, but nothing crazy. Then, when he sees the house exploding, he says, Well, that's no good. I better pick up the pace, so he does so. What he does when he saves everyone from the explosion is him kicking it into high gear.
So what do you guys think?
One Strip! One Strip!I think it's fair to say that in the ten years since, quicksilver has become even faster. Even if in terms of narrative the difference only allows for aesthetic improvement.
Question; has Apocalypse ever been a member of the X-men? I've pretty much fallen in love with this film's take on him.
No, but his clone has.
Oh is that the kid?
So I think Days forgot the motivation for creating a new timeline. You create a new timeline so the not-dystopian yous can come save your asses.
So I'm assuming that the Sentinels, on the whole, are defeated, but off screen by a badass Cable from the Apocalypse timeline.

Yep, Apocalypse (En Sabah Nur) has a teenage clone called Kid Apocalypse or Evan Sabahnur. He's pretty adorkable. He's currently on the All-New X-Men team.

After watching Logan it feels like Apocalypse was meant to tie up lose ends from DOFP and set-up the events of LOGAN.
All three of those films are kinda a trilogy about hope/despair and plays on the idea about the future truly being set.

So I was thinking about Hank's theory on time after seeing Logan. It got me wondering if Apocalypse was playing with that idea. Because at the end of that movie the power of mutants became a political topic of controversy like in X1. Along with Charles and Erik having the same conversation they had in X1, which I don't think is just a call back.
I've read in an interview with Singer prior to the film's release saying that he wanted to show that Xavier was blindly optimistic and how he changes.
It seems to me that the reason why he changes his mind about teaching his students how to fight is because he realizes that Jean's "dreams" are not just dreams after meeting Apocalypse who was in her vision. Hence why he says "Oh my god" when he saw him. In addition to knowing the events of X3, he is now considering Hank's theory and decides to prepare for the worst.

New Mutants, Deadpool 2, and X-Men: Dark Phoenix have release dates.
Cool, what are they?

I call bullshit on the New Mutants date. Less than a year left and shooting hasn't even begun?
Children of Dievas - my webcomic about the Northern CrusadesWell... if they really haul ass, it's not entirely inexplicable.
Wait, they're calling it X-Men: Dark Phoenix?
Anyways, for the dates: New Mutants is coming out April 13th, 2018, Deadpool 2 is coming out June 1st, 2018, and X-Men: Dark Phoenix is coming out November 2nd, 2018.
Hopefully they'll do a good job and not bungle up the Phoenix saga again.

Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?
Yes.
The person who butchered the story(Tom Rothman) is no longer working at Fox.

I wish they weren't doing ''Dark Phoenix". We've had a grand total of one (crappy) movie with the new Jean, it would have more impact if they told some other stories and gave us time to get attached before they brought in the Dark Phoenix Saga. A major event geared around the death of a character works best if they audience has actually spent some time with that character.
Also, I find the comics storyline a bit of an Idiot Plot in that Jean spends anywhere from weeks to months having weird visions of herself in the past and doesn't bother to ever mention them to anyone. If she'd discussed them with someone, it would have basically gone, "Okay, you're having these weird flashbacks to 200 years ago....who do you see...oh, that guy, let's see if we can figure out who he is in real-time....okay, he's with the Hellfire Club and he's clearly trying to mess with your mind. Ignore the visions as much as you can, and let's kick his ass and sort this out."
Fox has been rushing things like Hell since DOFP. First Class succefully establishes the first team of X-Men and their role, but it's very clear it just started. DOFP proceeds to wipe them both out in a cluttered storyline that really sounds like it'd make more sense in two movies rather than one. Then comes Apocalypse who leaps out of the abject nothing to rise and be defeated within a single film, deflating all his threat and menace in the process. Logan also suffers from this to a mild extent as a few of the plotlines of the character are dropped (Sabretooth, Yukio and Mariko are all written out and get no resolution).
Now they're already rushing to the Dark Phoenix, which will also last a single movie and then they'll go to some Messiah Complex bullshit.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."
You seriously believe that Jean is going to die despite being alive in the future? And that this won't be a loose adaptation like Civil War and Logan?
Apocalypse was never a mega threat in the comics anyway. Only been a villian for the main team in two lame storylines, both in which he was defeated easily. Plus the guy has died multiple times.

I'm more nervous about how they're gonna do New Mutants, to be honest. X-Men: Apocalypse lowered my expectations for how X-Men: Dark Phoenix will turn out, but New Mutants is something completely different they're doing.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?(Age of Apocalypse screams in the distance)
"All you Fascists bound to lose."I'm calling it now: X-Men: Dark Phoenix will be about Xavier saving Jean from repeating the same fate she had in the original timeline.
Just look at the last two films. DOFP is about him changing Mystique's fate. XMA is about him saving Magneto from his fate.
You mean that event where he barely gets any panel time and just sits on his throne twirling his mustache until Magneto defeats him with ease? On top of that: it was in an alternate reality and not the 616.
Age of Apocalypse is easily the worst use of any incarnation of the character.

The man who helped ruin ''Fantastic Four'' wants to direct the next movie.
Nooooo thank you.
