Wasn't red coins also limited to 5 in the last game?

Apparently this is one of those things where the universe rewrites itself to make me wrong, because I've definitely seen more than 5 in the same area before, numerous times, but supposedly that's impossible. In any case, that limit seems weirdly low, and it's even weirder to divide it between the main and sub-worlds when the total collected is shared.

Hate when that happens. It's enough to make you wonder if they really were once the Berenstein bears!

Back in the first game you could have 10 red coins but only 5 in each sub-area.

GameXplain does some more Super Mario Maker 2 experiments.

The storm has now resided, the wolf now rests.

Leftist economic policies are one thing, it's the whole killing anyone who disagrees I don't like. Granted, a lot of the comments are just jokes but... It kind of gets into Poe's Law territory.

Looks like some people have gotten their retail copies early and there is one new game mode like everyone predicted.

That game mode (under spoilers): Super Mario Land.

Well, that's disappointing. I think SMB2 would have been a lot better...

I'm actually really hyped about this, especially if they include the music. SMB2 would've been cool, but I was never realistically expecting them to make that work.

[up][up][up]What? That's pretty misleading, dude. It's just a power-up and some music, not a full mode.

Honestly from I've seen the Mario Land Power-Up makes it morel likely its not going to be another game style. A unique power-up is redudant if there's a whole game mode for it. Wouldn't surprise me if there's a SML 2 item which suggests the same thing.

A game-breaking holdover overload glitch from 1 has been discovered in 2.

tl;dw: You have to have Mario holding an item, while facing the camera, while picking up a powerup, while jumping on Yoshi.

Hopefully it's fixed during the inevitable day-one patch, or if not, really quickly.

There's one issue that doesn't seem to have been addressed from the first game; auto deletion of levels that are not popular. Remember how Nintendo made a vague announcement that levels that weren't liked enough would quietly get deleted and you couldn't upload that exact level again? Unless something had changed and we didn't notice, it seems that system is gonna make a comeback. PLEASE LIKE AND SUBSCRIBE TO MY LEVELS!

Just make semi-decent levels, and they'll naturally get some stars from the playerbase.

I never had any of my stages get deleted from unpopularity, even the crappy ones.

Playing through a bit of story mode. You can use the roll move in 3D World levels... but it doesn't break blocks like in the actual game. Why even have it, then?

It was rarely used for that to begin with.

The roll jump is gone now, that's the bigger loss.

Well, I'm a bit bummed. I tried remaking one of my levels from the first game, where you have to run away from a bunch of Boos stacked on top of a Monty Mole. But there seems to be a bug that causes Boos to break from the stack if they're going fast enough. Hopefully they'll patch that at some point.
