PC Technical Alpha going on right now - mind, there IS an NDA this time around. Shugoki, Peacekeeper and Warlord trailers released.

Shugoki's narration was unexpected. My initial guess was they were talking about some sort of integration of samurai and sohei that happened, but I suppose it could have just been another race of people entirely.

We can make our own characters for various classes, right? Are male Peacekeepers an option?

I have not seen an official source on it, but I keep reading that Warlord, Lawbringer and Shugoki are male-only while Peacekeeper, Valkyrie and Nobushi are female-only.

Since the question comes up plenty and I'd figure even if I missed the statement that they are, I probably wouldn't miss the statement that they aren't if the devs were going to say it by now - which they should have by now if so - thus it's probably true. The Valkyrie is also, of course, poorly named for English-speakers probably exposed to the term's associations if it was supposed to be of either sex.

So, hang on, in that video there are vikings that are wielding long swords like Warden knights? I don't know exactly that this means, but it might be cool if you could unlock armor that makes your character look like a part of a different faction, like a knightly orochi.

What, that the best theory on their identity is that they are a woman? And that they might be Scout's mom?

I don't know about you guys, but I've never seen a Nobushi and Batman in the same room.

If the Nobushi is Batman, the Lawbringer is Judge Dredd ("Lawbringers ARE Justice!").

Could we say that Valkyrie is Daredevil?

They ain't blind but the spear is sort of a deadly walking cane, and vikings really just want to die in combat (daring!).

With the Valkyrie blowing a horn through a mask without a mouth hole, I think she's clearly a secret McNinja.

Good. This is probably one of the best games to do the Faction War multiplayer model in.
