I have never gotten a controller to work with PC. I mean, I haven't tried super hard, I haven't bought any of the special Steam controllers, but I've tried with various Xbox and Playstation controllers with no success.

Having a blast with it so far. I'm slightly annoyed that I can't customise the HUD and view angle the way HZD let me, but that's not exactly a deal-breaker.

I got sidetracked by Spider-Man 2 and Ghost of Tsushima. I'll reinstall it after I finish Spider-Man 2, which I'm 2/3rds through.

I always found it sufficient.
I did sometimes have to use the mouse in conjunction to do movement, but it's never been so bad I couldn't make it work.
Someone really does need to make a left-only controller stick though.
