I've had a lot of success with this Samsung one.

Cool. Can I find that at a Best Buy?

And what about the Nintendo Memory cards? Are they no good?

And is 128 not too much? I ok with it (that'll take a long time to get filled), but I would want to be sure I'm not overdoing it.

Better to have too much! I'm not sure if you can find that particular one at Best Buy, but all the Samsung 128g micros I looked at support Switch. I was just being cheap when I bought mine. Being cheap is also why I didn't get a Nintendo one.

I've already filled up a 128GB card.

But I wouldn't worry too much. If you recognise the brand, it's probably fine.

It's a lawsuit about the Joy-Con drifting issue that both you and I experienced. Bad for Nintendo, good for the consumer. Not devastating for Nintendo, though, they could easily pay people back, replace the Joy-Cons, and recover.

To answer your question about Nintendo branded SD cards, just don't buy em. They're more expensive because of the Nintendo label.

Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order.

I do recall them being somewhat high priced.

Ok then. If they're no better than other ones but cost more, then I'll go with something else.

In general, I find the SanDisk brand a pretty good provider of SD cards, decent price for good performance.

Though, according to a Gamespot article on SD card performance (which is admittedly two years old) there really isn't that much of a difference in how well they run a game.

Oninaki, the newest RPG from the developers of I Am Setsuna and Lost Sphear (the publisher is once again Square Enix), is up for prepurchase. $50 (and it's 10% off until sometime on Monday), release date August 22, and 2.7GB, which is not much larger than Lost Sphear (or about twice as large as I Am Setsuna). Oh, and there's a demo that you can download, as well.

Well here's one that I'm sure many people will be happy about: Two Point Hospital is coming to Switch (and Xbox, and PS 4) later this year. Both the Bigfoot and... ah, the Pebberley Island DLC will be included by default.

Rumor: Vice has seemingly acquired a Nintendo internal memo suggesting free JoyCon repair, even outside warrenty, is incoming, alongside refunds for any prior JoyCon repair.

I'll have to see about that when I get some free time during the day on Friday (Yay random scheduling. ).

I never did get around to trying to replace the bad stick like I had mentioned a few months back, and have two sets of joycons sitting unused because of it.

I hope it's true, if only because it'll cause a huge ruckus if it turns out not to be. Being able to get the issue fixed is just a bonus.

I got my Switch secondhand, from a friend of a friend, so the “no longer requires proof of purchase” part of that article is important to me. I haven't had any problems yet, but this is good to know if that changes.

One other thing to add: Firaxis are planning to bring both Civilization VI expansions, era and loyalty focused Rise and Fall and natural disaster focused Gathering Storm, to the Switch sometime this year.

Double post: I'm hearing the Joy Con drift free repairs is only for North America. People in Europe have called their local Nintendo affliate and they've said it's only through No A.

Has it been officially announced anywhere yet? I thought we just have a leaked internal memo, not an official announcement. Even if they're planning on doing it, they might not actually be doing it already.

The Vice article says they had one of their employees call Nintendo to fix his personal Switch and they gave him no trouble. Even paid his shipping.

I don't think Nintendo will ever officially announce it themselves and here's why:

1. They likely don't want to pay that much for it.
2. They likely don't want their repair people to be swamped by Joy Con repair.

I fully suspect Nintendo will allow social media to spread it by word of mouth, rather than do it themselves.

Agreed. This may be a controlled leak for all we know. It's the right thing to do, anyway, but they're not going to let their staff get buried under Joy Con repairs.
