I named my Fox Amiibo Delphox.
My Link is simply HeroOfTime. Again, probably not the most original name I could have given him, but still better than Sam.
I'll probably get Mario, Luigi, or Bowser if I get another one.
My Link is named Fierce Deos because Fierce Deity wouldn't fit.
Funnily enough, the guy who bought tons of Rosalina amiibo actually showed up in Smashboards at some point.
That guy's a nut. Even if his youtube schtick is just a "persona" the dude has a real problem handling reality based on my (admittedly brief) encounters with him.
In more Amiibo related shenanigans, named my Shulk Chuggaa and gave him the Riki color scheme. It seemed right since I only preordered it because I was getting into the Chuggaaconroy LP of Xenoblade.

I managed to land a Shulk. Won't ship until May, but hey, no rush. I didn't need him urgently, I just wanted him at all.
Also ordered a Mega Man and a Sonic from Target. Separate orders, so I'm paying twice as much for shipping, but hell, I had to act fast and didn't know they were both available, so sucks for me, I guess.
You need to put two curly braces around single-word links for them to work. Also wouldn't hurt to namespace it by putting "LetsPlay/" before it, too. Like this: LetsPlay/{{Chuggaaconroy}} -> Chuggaaconroy

Moon◊He's pure evil. Someone should rob him.
I've got Fox coming in the mail from Amazon.
Should I get more money in the mail, then maybe I'll check about Link, Falcon, Samus, Marth, Mega Man, Sonic, or Little Mac. Maybe Shulk if I can find him on Amazon (which is a low chance)
You know, I have to wonder why Pit is obsessed with this site. It’s gonna ruin his life!Very low chance, since you'd be relying entirely on the aftermarket (and the aftermarket prices associated with it). If you want it at MSRP, you'd have to go through GameStop - somehow. Importing it from, say, Europe, where Shulk isn't retailer-exclusive, would be marginally more expensive (currency exchange rates, shipping fees, etc), but not too much more.

Moon◊What do you mean by "somehow"? I do have a Gamestop near where I live, I'd just need someone to drive me to it.
You know, I have to wonder why Pit is obsessed with this site. It’s gonna ruin his life! It's very unlikely the Gamestop will have any in stock.
Ah.
I wasn't planning on getting Shulk until my birthday at the earliest.
I don't get why Nintendo is doing retail exclusive in the US. I feel like they've made a lot of bad decisions recently amongst their great games.
You know, I have to wonder why Pit is obsessed with this site. It’s gonna ruin his life!Looks like Gold Mario is going to be Walmart exclusive. At least it's just a Mario variant, and not an entire character this time.
Amiibo, otherwise known as even more Smash related proof that it's a really bad time to be a nearly broke college student without transportation. I can do little more than stare at the things on Amazon and convulse at the sight of those ridiculous prices as well as Nintendo's insane mismanagement with them. MAKE ENOUGH TO MEET DEMAND FOR ONCE.
What is a fandom? A miserable little pile of flame wars! 3DS FC: 0387-9377-7408 PSN ID: Raven King SageThat Mario amiibo is going to go for ridiculously insane prices whenever it releases.
More reasons why I don't even want to bother buying any.
Even with these awkward wings, dyed with images that seem to stay. I'm sure we can fly, on my love! 3DS Friend Code: 2809-9138-8756I'm tempting to buy one just so I can resell it. Collecting these things isn't cheap and it's not like I'd be keeping a person from having a complete set.
Why is Nintendo making so few? Someone needs to hit them with the common sense stick so that they hopefully realize to meet demand.
Also, why release some Amiibos exclusive? That makes no sense from a business standpoint as it won't maximize profits.
You know, I have to wonder why Pit is obsessed with this site. It’s gonna ruin his life! Not all Amiibos/characters are equal. No matter how much noise we make, characters like Shulk and Meta Knight are niche and don't have much sway with the general public. Making them store exclusive minimizes risk that they'll be overshadowed by Mario and Link, ensures they have enough shelf space for everyone, and improves their relationship with retailers. It makes sense, even if it's annoying for us. Now why popular characters like Rosalina and Lucario are store exclusive is a mystery to me. Those two are mass market, especially Lucario.
As for overall shipments, Nintendo has been extremely conservative on production as of late with regards to everything. Probably came from the Wii U situation. So niche ones like Marth and Wii Fit Trainer only get 1 figure for every Mario at best. Though the likes of Villager really ought to be made more available.
It doesn't guarantee shelf space. These things are never even making it to the shelves because they sell out months in advance. All exclusives do is create artificial scarcity.
Wait a sec, Meta Knight is niche? I thought Kirby was a juggernaut for Nintendo. It would make more sense to use Pit, Marth, Mac, Fox, and Captain Falcon as examples.
A big part of me just wants to see lesser known Nintendo franchises get similar treatment to the big names. What kinda helps this thinking is that a lot of protagonists from Nintendo's b-tier franchises actually have personalities to them.
I'll applaud Smash Bros for Wii U for this, they pretty much balance overall representation of major and minor franchises. Yes, individual franchise representation is awful (two new Mario reps? I only wanted Paper Mario to be playable), but just going by Major franchises vs. B and C-Tier franchises? It's kinda fair.

You know, I have to wonder why Pit is obsessed with this site. It’s gonna ruin his life!Kirby (both the character and franchise) is big. Meta Knight the character however, not so much. He's bigger than the likes of Ike, but to the mainstream he's fairly far down on the list of recognizable characters.
A golden Mario that's exclusive to the store I work at?
...welp, guess it's time for me to start my amiibo collection.
Honestly, I'm more interested in the idea of having my favorite Nintendo characters lining a shelf as decoration than I am the game features (case in point: my living room has non-amiibo figurines of Mario, Wario, and Kirby on the entertainment center)
What's the status on Little Mac, Captain Falcon, and Mega Man?
Weird in a Can (updated M-F)
Yes, name Samus Bartholomew.
Insert witty 'n clever quip here.
