Huniepop~!

Definitely, I hope he'll be alright after a break, I know there's a lot of pressure on the franchise, so it makes sense.

So some update. Huniepop 2 is revealed to take place 2 years after the original. Bad news? Huniepop 2 will be delay to 2019. Good news? There will more girls added to the game which also includes some girls from Huniecam Studios, returning characters from Huniepop 1 and new characters like Abia, an Arabian girl and Polly, a Hermaphrodite aka Futanari to the Japanese.

And watch as the controversy on its release day sprout up all over again. XD!

Reaction to Polly is kinda weird. Those on Twitter don't like it, accusing the game maker of adding unneeded Political correctness. But on Youtube, they love her and can't wait to... ahem "get personal" with her.

Political correctness my ass. This is literally making sure to do what humor does best. Blast through prejudices, challenges those people that say “political correctness ruined the sequel!” and have a fun time with a game like respectable adults.

On the note of Polly's mixed reaction, it seems it's taken them less than a day to decide that whether she's trans or a ciswoman will be up to the player's discretion.

So far, reaction to that's... also a little mixed, from what I'm seeing. Some people don't mind having options, other people feel like it's a bit of a slap in the face as far as including a trans character goes.

For my part, I don't really care much for Huniepop but I'm a little baffled at them backpedaling on this so quickly. Like, sure, it's a porn game with the goal of "bed as many of these lovely ladies~ as possible" so it's not going to be the glowing icon of progressiveness in the first place... but, you know, it's the principle of the matter.

Then again, the above tweet makes me feel like Polly being there's more for Transgender Fetishization in the first place so... probably wasn't too much of a loss?

So whether a woman is trans or not depends on whether the player would be willing to sleep with them? That's definitely Unfortunate Implications territory. It's basically saying "transpeople should not exist if people are think they're icky". If the devs are too scared to "force players" to sleep with a trans girl, just make dating her optional.
And if people respond to criticism with "it's a porn game, don't take it seriously", then they should be willing to accept that some people think the game is bad for being transphobic.

I know this is largely for a threesome fantasy, but I'm glad that doing this makes it feel less like the protagonist is a cheater and more that they have casual sex with absolutely everyone, and the girls know that.
