While nice info, many have immediately pointed out one character's age doesn't make sense.

You can take a guess which...

I can't believe they would call Illari the youngest characters with Hammond and Orisa running around.

Also like, so many of these characters dont look their age. Like you get the clear vibe the age was an afterthought.

Like, Ashe is 41? Get out. She's clearly that age because Cassidy is in that range so they figured she must be too. But like no one in the design process clearly ever thought "We're designing a 40 year old"

How is Kiriko 16 years younger than Genji if they trained togheter?

Low Key, Soldier 76 is younger than I imagined? I thought there was some sort of delayed aging going on but no he's basically the guy in his late 50s he appears to be.

Everyone is 2 years older than the last game. However, Zen got retconned to 33 because it didnt make sense with the awakening plotline.

The omnic ages suggest those are the dates they were manufactured, not awakened. Makes sense for Ramattra as he was created during the crisis

My thought about Kiriko and Genji is the opposite, I thought Genji was much younger than that, around her age.

Genji's age makes sense with his older brother being a greying older man. The tone between them never implies there's that big of an age gap between Hanzo and Genji. And Hanzo doesn't look like a man in his 30s.

The one I find surprising is Bastion being in his 30s. Like logically he has to be since Stugart takes place around the same time as Eichenwald so to have young still blonde Reinhardt, it'd have to be that long.

It's just that Bastion, even in his own short, doesn't look like a robot that's been left in the woods for _32_ years.

You think the story mode thing would have gone down better if they did what league of legends did.

And released individual games and works like Arcane and The Mageseeker ?

That'd imply there was any desire to do such things and not just release a new monetization scheme.

EDIT: On the Kiriko thing, to be fair I dont think the age is wrong, I think the events as written just never made sense. Like Kiriko's short is all about how she's young and spunky and her convincing her mom she's grown up. She can't be older than her early 20s coz the short makes no sense is she's 30. But at the same time, Hanzo has always looked like a man in his 40s. So her first meeting him while Hanzo looks like a Twink still 2/3 the height of his own dad never made sense◊ coz it's clear their age gap is _way_ wider than her origin video pretends it is. Hanzo looks like a man 2 decades older than she is, so their first meeting can't happen without Hanzo being an adult. And if Hanzo's that old, Genji couldn't be far behind him.

Its the same for Pharah who was supposed to have grown up around this previous generation of heroes and was presented as a child when the original strike team was in their prime but she's around the same age as Genji.

That part makes sense, she's slightly older than the omnics. She'd have been 6 when Ramattra was made, and that was during the Omnic war. She'd be 2 when Reinhart's short happened (Since that'd take place around the time of Bastion's activation), and we know that's when Overwatch was founded since that's when he gets the recruitment token and he's one of the OG members. If we assume the war ended say 2 years after Ramattra was activated (As he's the youngest Omnic to have taken part we know), that makes her 8 by that time, so a child she was indeed.

I know everyone harps on Kiriko, Sojourn is an even bigger mess.

47 implies that 30 years or so ago she was 17 and already a top officer in the Canadian Army. Not only that, her twin sister had a 5 year old daughter....did she have it at 12?

That's all info from the Sojourn novel that i don't think anyone read. So of course the writers didn't even bother.

Not to mention Mercy was the director of a major Swiss hospital before she was recruited for Overwatch and she can't have been even 20 yet.

Also everything about Tracers age, but I assume there is some woman out of time stuff going on there.

Her wiki page says she was 23 when the Omnic War started. So the Omnic war started 24 years ago, so... Bastion was 8 by the time of the war? What was he doing all this time?

32 implies he was made before the crisis, it tracks when you consider that Bastion E54 models were peacekeeping troopers. After Anubis took over, he was deployed in germany.

SOMEHOW, during a mission in the black forest, he has to have been disabled and went dormant as a result. And he laid there for decades till Ganymede woke him up.

And it's not even the most unbelievable piece of lore in the game.

And somehow Bastion only gets flashes of his like, one day of warfare and not of his 8 years of life before this.

Also means that Junker Queen is older than the destruction of the Australia Omnium

Writers Cannot Do Math is in full force here

My personal opinion is that not everything have to be explained or shown in the story. Age of the characters are the least important bit. Why makes needless announcement just to be another clown fest? Nobody would have cared if they didn't reveal this info.

New map announced for Season 7: Samoa. It's a control map.

Hmmm they are heavily telegraphing that Season 8 might finally be the time we are finally getting Mauga.

• Samoa poster shows up in Antartica alongside a Peru poster. Then we get a peruvian hero (Illari)
• Season 8 is confirmed to have a tank (Fits with Mauga gigantic frame and him being based on the Talon heavy assault unit)
• And now Samoa is a map.

I swear if he's not revealed at blizzcon i'm going to be so mad.

Hmm, the Overwatch league concluded yesterday and the casters had a very tearful farewell as the closing act.

It's not confirmed, but i think Blizzard canned OWL. I don't know how to feel about that, we knew for a while it wasn't doing well, but still sucks to see it go.

Was it not confirmed? I thought it was announced a while ago that they were closing OWL. Pretty sure I've heard about it before.

Am I the only one finds it weird that there isn't a character page for the Starwatch event?
