For the entire short I was thinking "this girl is so generic and one dimensional". I mean, they got Jennifer Hale to do the voice, and she's been cast twice recently as a PARODY of the trope on both Ducktales and Rick and Morty. Way too on the nose.

So when Echo steps out of the pod at the end I'm like "ah, there's the new hero".

Nope. Gave them far too much credit.

I mean Echo is totally going to be a new hero sometime next year. That's obvious.

With Echo, I hope we get a skin for the concept art without the whole face thing. I really don't like the face. At all.

Already speculating. Her name is Echo. What if she's not an AI? What if it's a brain upload? Would be both something new and a fitting name.

Maybe she is a very unique type of Android/Omnic or even the body of a God AI that was once employed by OW? She definitely has ties with Athena and her name is greek.

Also, there is a pattern. Last Blizzcon showed Brigitte in Honor and Glory and Reunion shows Echo at the end. She is definitely hero 30.

Damage or Healer? She looks like a healer to me

The design◊ strikes me as the sort of thing I'd see from a Support character — all white, rather slender, similar sort of angel motif to Mercy but with added pristine sci-fi touches. Of course, you never know.

Has Echo been subtly referenced before or is this the first time we're seeing her?

Not too surprised to see a new hero announced. Wasn't watching the Blizzcon, only just watched the two vids — did I miss anything important about her?

The name Echo has never been dropped before now, AFAIK. She resembles an unused hero in an old piece of concept art of the hero lineup that people latched on to.

Ashe is interesting. On first glance, she hits a lot of the same gameplay beats that drew me to Hanzo: I first went to the archer because his "action sniper" gameplay reminded me of the way the repeater was used in Red Dead Redemption.

In this case, they seem to have just simply gone full out and given her a repeater (though it also has a bit of shotgun in there), but since I already use Hanzo for that function my use of her might be a bit less. Her "summon a minion to rout the enemy" ultimate is really dope, though.

Personality wise, she's about as interesting as McCree, which in my opinion isn't that much, but she might get fleshed about a bit as lore is developed.

Makes me wonder if she ever does show up as hero, whether both Shield and 'Speed boost' will make an appearance. A few of those early concepts, like Rashi, tend to land more in hybrid-y territory than the current game does. I guess introducing a speed boost, at least if that's for others and not just personal, might intrude on Lucio's bit, so maybe by the time the team revisit her — if that plan is part of what Echo spawned from — she'll feel very different to what that mini-description might have planned. Or maybe not.

I also liked that sniper Omnic.

Looks like they are becoming more diverse with the Omnic designs.

Ashe has a mobster skin. More importantly it gives B.O.B. a flat cap and overalls.

There's also a safari skin that basically turns B.O.B. into Safari Winston.
