"Tails of the Squirrel Girl" was awesome.
American Red Squirrel! Squirrel Earl, genderswapped Squirrel Girl with all the powers of squirrel and earl! "You think I won't fight dinosaurs? THAT'S ALL I WANT TO DO."
I must find that.
Squirrel-Grrrl 2099 must exist immediately.
Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies.I have recently decided to backorder and follow this series. Rocket Raccoon dropping helped with that decision, I admit, but it seemed fun and probably would have followed it anyway if I caught it at #1.
Mega Man fanatic extraordinaireThere's only been five issues, so that should be easy. You can always wait for the trade, too (it's either four or five issues), but I'm not sure if the letters pages are going to be in there and those are super fun.
Letters pages are never included in trades. Though leaving it out would make #4 pretty weird, since the issue started with a joke about going straight to the letters page.
But yeah, the letters pages are pretty fun for Squirrel Girl. Lots of discussions of squirrels.
X-Men X-Pert, my blog where I talk about X-Men comics.Yeah, I'm glad I got the Ultimate Edition of Nextwave, because it included all the funny letters pages, including the last one where the letter answering robot went insane.
The recap pages from Squirrel Girl are a delight.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersIn today's issue of The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl; Dan Slott gets very ornery about Galactus.
But it's all good, because Ryan North found a way to cut up his complaints to make a good promotional blurb.
X-Men X-Pert, my blog where I talk about X-Men comics.HEY I FORGOT THIS THREAD EXISTED
SO HOW ABOUT THAT DOOM STUFF, EH, PRETTY NEAT
Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies. It's so goooooood.
Yes, yes it is. I love how Doom has learned from past failures, so he won't let Squirrel Girl defeat him.
Really, the comic's entire depiction of Doom is glorious. Like, I am not a cynical man by any means, but sometimes, an asshole's just an asshole and there's nothing you can do. And I feel like Doreen's need to find the good in everyone means more if she tries when it's not necessarily possible. It's easy to be an optimist when everything goes your way.
Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies. He's an asshole, but he does have style. It takes a lot of class to reference Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs in the middle of a fight.
This series is still one of the most delightful things in existence.
X-Men X-Pert, my blog where I talk about X-Men comics. For those who don't know about Maslow's hierarchy of needs. And yes, that was pretty awesome.
Doom has been pretty hilarious here. The referencing Maslow's hierarchy of needs was wonderful.
Trust you? The only person I can trust is myself.Y'know, I heard that Dr. Doom had been turned into a normal guy or something in the Bendis Iron Man comic. How does that tie-in with Squirrel Girl? I mean, Squirrel Girl still has plenty of references to other 616 comics (mentioning Cap is old, having Doreen be on an Avengers team, etc.). So is this just happening sometime before/after the Iron Man comic? Or is the Doom that Squirrel Girl's fighting right now just not from the present day and I forgot?
I've got fanfics for Frozen, Spectacular Spider-Man, Crash Bandicoot, and Spyro the Dragon. It's a time traveling Doom from right after Squirrel Girl beat him up the first time.
I'm disappointed the answer wasn't Doombot.
Don't worry, there are plenty of Doombots in the issues.
The actual explanation Doom gives for his loss is much more amusing.
I just found a few panels from the most recent issue online. It's one of the funniest things I've read, in terms of Marvel Comics.
