Well, I guess the EU branch of Konami seems more bearable than the main JP branch of Konami.
I shudder to imagine what if it was Konami of Japan who contacted him. They'd have probably blacklisted him or something else that's cruel and unusual...
He didn't have much since he was pretty much ripping assets from PT itself, so that's the best case scenario really. You gotta start somewhere, fills the resume at least.
So apparently Konami is working on 2 new games in Silent Hill.
......So what's happening with Pachinko over in Japan to get Konami to do this?
Sanity is the Lie, there is only Madness.I'm digging around online and apparently pachinko machines may be going on some decline ever since Japan dropped some heavy regulations on them back in 2018.
Plus, I think even Japan is less than pleased with the direction Konami has been heading, even if I can't find proof on that.
In any case, Konami better get its sh*t together. Contra: Rogue Corps turned out less than great, so that HAD to have been a wake-up call for them.
Cross-posting from the Death Stranding thread:
I didn't know whether to post it there or on the Silent Hills thread, but...
There's something VERY screwy going on at Kojima Productions...
Bullet Points:
- "Silent" is a pretty curious word, innit? Why not "quiet"?
- The notepad reads "Next Week!"
- If you look at the pencil upside down, it says "pyramid".
Plus, Masahiro Ito, a major artist on Silent Hill has been saying weird stuff.
I hesitated to drop this on the Silent Hills thread because a lot of this could be red herrings, but I guess we'll have to watch out for next week...

Konami isn't going to give up the rights for anything decent to happen with Silent Hill, though.
Yeah, part of me is thinking it's too easy to assume Silent Hills is rising from its grave.
Whatever KojiPro is revealing next week, it's probably NOT a new Silent Hill game, but something VERY similar to it.
Again, it's too easy to assume it's Silent Hills.
I know it's been a long time since the cancellation of Silent Hills, but the one thing that still hurts for me the most is not being able to see Del Toro create a horror video game. I love his takes on monsters and would've loved to see his creativity take video game form.
I hope he does get a chance to do a video game in the future, though I also recall him saying he's not going to after being burned one too many times. Well, one can always dream, I suppose.
He said he wouldn't do one unless Kojima was on board.
Found another clue from the tweet that leans closer to it being a Silent Hill tease. (Even if it's 95.5% likely to be a coincidence.)
Not only does the notepad foreshadow something coming next week, but the notepad itself is its own clue since in Silent Hill 1, notepads were what Harry used to save his progress in that game.
I mean, I remember people citing the goddamn hexagonal floor tiles in The Phantom Pain's accouncement trailer as evidence for it being Metal Gear and Moby Dick Studio being a front for Kojima shenanigans.
PSN ID: FateSeraph | Switch friendcode: SW-0145-8835-0610 Congratulations! She/TheyYou jest, but I speak the truth:
They say notebook, but tell me this doesn't look like a note pad.
And...yeah, they turned out to be right when The Phantom Pain turned out to Metal Gear Sold V, but hang on. Hexagonal floor tiles? You'll have to show us what you're talking about because I never paid attention to any floor tiles...
The only problem I'm having with these kinda spitballs is that Kojima has no claim or rights to the Silent Hill franchise and Konami would never let him make a game using their IP.
Oh really when?Dude, Silent Hill is one of my favorite series, I'm well aware of the save points being notepads in the first game. I just don't get how "Notepads exist" = "Silent Hills is back in development!"
Now, if they had tweeted a picture of the Halo of the Sun, then this theory would have a little more credibility.
I actually didn't realize you already knew that. My bad...
What's important is that something is coming next week, right?

How credible is Rely on Horror? Because twitter just led me to this: https://www.relyonhorror.com/latest-news/sources-playstation-backs-silent-hill-series-reboot-silent-hills-revival/
Open question: why exactly was everyone hyped about Silent Hills? Did they all just like PT that much, or was it because of Kojima's involvement?
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!I can't speak for anyone else, but I was definitely curious to see what a horror collaboration between Kojima and Del Toro would look like. Del Toro's name showing up got me more excited than anything else in PT.
A little of column A, a little of column B.

I'm pretty sure Itô Junji was supposed to be involved too.
There's nothing stopping those two from just making their own horror IP anyway. Nothing about Silent Hills had anything to do with Silent Hill.
A fan had been datamining the original graphical assets from P.T.'s files in an attempt to produce a remake of his own - P.T. for PC, basically. He'd only recreated the house so far, but then... well, Konami happened.
He received a Cease and Desist order from Konami via a phone call. Now, normally, you'd expect this to be nothing but doom and gloom, but... apparently the dude may have at least scored a job out of the situation. Turns out the office that contacted him - namely, Konami's EU branch - was actually monitoring his progress and excited about what he had currently accomplished, and decided to give him an offer of hooking him up with a potential entry-level job. Granted, I'm not sure as to what kind of career that would lead to (I can only imagine the EU branch working on stuff like Soccer games), but hey, a job designing video games at 17 years old? Not bad!
