Here comes a new challenger!

I wonder what their style will be like. I'd like to have more styles not of Asian origin, since both Tekken and Soul Calibur are heavily weighted in that way. She has some grey, and is a prime minister, so maybe we'll get a female character that looks over 35 in a Namco fighter, too.

There really no limit to what type of person you can have in a fighting game is there?

Some insight on the Polish character.

"I'm collaborating with the embassy of a country lapsing hard into far-right nonsense" and the confirmation that the lady is a PM has me... concerned that she'll be used for nefarious propagandic means. It's probably a long shot at best, but seeing as it's our first politician (let alone such a prominent one) in the series, there's a cause for concern.

They reelected two years ago, they got their president reelected a year ago, and the constitutional court is staffed with their sycophants. You might have heard of the hard abortion ban hitting us recently.

The opposition is mostly various shades of right that's not right enough for the ruling party (and mostly ineffective), one block of nazis, and one block of the Left.

...so yeah, to go back on topic, the embassy being involved in this character's creation is a red flag, if there was any.

Well shit. Less than 100 years after WWII, and Germany seems to be one of the few "Western" countries without an increasingly loud Nazi contingent.

Here's hoping this character isn't the worst. I still wonder why some people are suggesting the character could be a Nina clone.

Played online last night. Got a pretty quick 14 wins (not all in a row) with Asuka against this one opponent. Switched to Julia. Lost 9 in a row. Switched back to Asuka. Lost 3 in a row.
I've really gotta stop doing things that require me to think when I'm tired. Or just go to sleep.

Well, that's 3 minutes & 53 seconds I'm never getting back in my life again.

So I'd previously made a What If? Smash Bros moveset for Yoshimitsu, as representation for both Tekken and Soul Calibur. What do you all think? I'm hoping I conveyed the game's control scheme, multiple stances, and combo moves, well.

Also, what would make for a better Back Tilt? tilt attacks in Smash are usually combo extenders, but most characters don't have a "Back Tilt". I linked to Magatama, but that section of the movelist shows 4 good options. I'm starting to lean towards Perilous Spirit.

Sony has acquired the EVO tournament series. You may recall last year's EVO was cancelled not because of the pandemic, but because of the reveal of some sexual predatory actions by some key individuals in the FGC and Smash communities, and on EVO's board.

So what are they doing different

Another Tekken mod, although this time around it's kinda janky & a bit off. And a few whacky mods in the video as well.

I still can't believe they went out of their way to acquire not only the rights to use Negan but also having Jefferey Dean Morgan to voiced him. Or at least the right to use his voice clips. I figure someone like Kiryu would be a lot easier to negotiate in comparison. Hell, I would imagine even Tifa wouldn't be as hard either. Then again, it may not be as difficult as I imagine it to be.

Actually, I do recall Negan having more voice lines in his trailer.

Specifically, the one where he's threatening Harada. Guess that's pretty semantic overall.

Random question - I just watched a Tekken 4 TAS where the player was using Marduk, and at several points he tackled an opponent, and the opponent did a tackle escape - only for Marduk to do a counter-escape of sorts. Like, when the opponent tries to kick him off, Marduk caught the leg and it transitioned into a legbreaker. Can he still do that in more recent games, or was that removed? It looked pretty cool, but I can also understand if they removed it, I imagine it could have been hella OP in the right (wrong?) hands.
