It looks to be an actual trope, but the tone and the title need some serious clean up.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickAnd the description needs a bit more trope sap and less complaining and disambiguating. And inferring from the latter, a better name.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard Feynman...seriously, as written this is just a complaint. You could make a trope out of this, but as is it just reads as bashing. The examples are, of course, following suit at this.
And as said, we'd need more than a three line description for what this is if we're going to actually make something out of this, which quite frankly, I don't think is worth the effort. I'd say cut
Given that the trope has terrible name, description and examples, I would agree if it doesn't have 215 inbounds.
Offhand, I think the fact we have such a defining lampshade of this trope from Scrubs means that it is a legitimate trope with legitimate examples. And "prone to complaining" does not equal "unsalvageable" or that it deserves to be cut just because no one feels like fixing it.
A better name is obvious, Sappy Music Cue, and it is certainly not nearly as widespread that fixing the wicks would be a problem.
Sappy Music Cue is not a good name, nor is anything with "sappy" in the title. "Sappy" is an inherently negative adjective, and it will encourage the very sort of complaining the page currently suffers from.
How about Sentimental then? It means about the same thing without the negative connotations.
Then we have the definition as:
The sentimental synthesized, clarinet heavy music used to underscore poignant moments in sitcoms.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. Dickx4 ...whoops didn't notice the inbound number. Yeah, this ain't getting cut then. I agree with Shimaspawn that sentimental carries MUCH less connotations that sappy, so that might work as a starting point.
Well, looking back I can't find evidence of a YKTTW, which might explain how it got away with being so complainy and whining(though it might just be my search was weak).
Edit: I was bored, so I perused the inbound referrals, and it turns out most of those are webcrawlers or pages that don't actually reference the trope at all(when they aren't 404 pages that is). I've only spotted a couple that actually refer to the trope(one of those being the Minimates forum, which I did not know were a thing until now). I was wondering if this affects anything, or if we still need those inbounds...

Sentimental Music Cue is absopositively a much better name.
That is a good one, and we could probably also add in versions with strings.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickWorks for me.
"Polite life will fill you full of cancer." - Iggy Pop "I've seen the future, brother, it is murder." -Leonard CohenSame for me. Also, the example section needs the complaining and ZCE rooted out.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanTruthfully, I still kind of prefer my Sappy Music Cue from earlier. Yes, it may not be a completely neutral term but the trope is about having a stock musical cue to punctuate the big sappy scenes. Sentimental Music Cue doesn't quite have the same connotation, and in fact kind of suggests the music itself has sentimental value rather than punctuating a sentimental scene.
I also prefer Sappy Music Cue. "Sappy" is mildly derogatory where "sentimental" is not, and IMO that is a better tone.
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.Your argument does not make sense. You essentially just said that you prefer the negative name because it's negative. Negativity is not a good trait in a trope name. At all.

Sometimes you go with the name that is most useful for the trope, and while any trope can be used positively there are many tropes that inherently have a negative connotation and you can't get around it. For some tropes I cannot think of a name that is accurate AND neutral, like Dull Surprise.
Some tropes are naturally positive while some tropes are naturally negative. Since this trope is about using a stock musical cue to highlight the big, sappy, sentimental Golden Moments, it attracts a lot of cynicism.
Mmm, well sentimental can have a touch of a negative spin as well. IDK though, we do not want it to turn into some sort of awesome music meets moment of heartwarming thing either. It is a tough line to walk, a negative-sounding trope attracts complaining, a positive-sounding trope attracts shoehorning...
I've been putting this off too long. Here's a page-action crowner. There's only one option right now, but feel free to add more.
The crowner's hooked.
Needs more votes.
Crown Description:
What would be the best way to fix the page?
This poorly-written "trope" with a stubby description appears to exist solely to complain about the usage of emotional-sounding music during appropriate moments. I see no reason for it to continue existing unless we can de-complainify it.
