Sonic the Hedgehog movie

I've said it before and I'll say it again. I hate, absolutely loathe, the passive disrespect people constantly serve to voice actors. Voice actors are as much a part of their character as any actor is, but people just see them as oh so replaceable.

I can't imagine Eggman without Mike Pollock these days.

I definitely don't like how voice actors are being treated in this industry. I think that Tara Strong put it best when the industry constantly mistreats voice actors.

Yeah. Just because people only hear your voice and don't see your face doesn't mean they're any less good at acting than you. Not to mention you still have to act in the recording booth anyway. You have to take actions as you speak, do things to change your voice while recording, and other stuff like that.

Not to mention the pay.

Japan is better respecting their voice actors, but I don't know what their pay is like either.

Yeah, I'm thinking so too. They can't win.

In reference to the Amazon show Invincible but I remember one reviewer saying that while it had an all-star cast you could definitely tell the ones who had done actual, proper voice acting before (e.g. Mark Hamill, J.K. Simmons) from those who had not.

It's a very different style of acting, in the same way that some theatre/staged actors (e.g. Ian Mckellen) transition very successfully to screen but not all do. Not all "film" actors would necessarily be a huge success in a play either for that matter.

All acting is a skill, no one "type" is better but there's still differences in the individual mediums.

Looks like the movie's been wrapped, at least in Vancouver, according to Jeff Fowler.

Guess now is the time for les effectos de visual! Wonder when they'll be dropping hints on who joining Ben Schwartz in the voice acting department as well as the presence of a certain red fellow...

You bet. I know for sure Knuckles will appear in the trailer. It's a good eye catcher.

If I were directing the trailer, I'd not have any new characters show up for seemingly all of it. Then, after the logos and premiere date, just before it ends, I'd cut to Knuckles, just chuckling.

Eggman will do the hohoho laugh just because he thinks he arrived in Christmas - which it isn't.

That would be awesome if the trailer has Eggman's signature laugh!

The Stinger showed us he's on his way there.

And yet the movie set photos for the sequel shows Robotnik in his black suit and not fat. Although, maybe it's only one part of the scene and we haven't seen the rest of the scene yet.

Considering how much he prided himself on physical appearance or whatever, I imagine he had some kind of rigorous exercise treatment after getting back.

That's a possibly...

Honestly? I'm fine with that.

Right off the bat, I thought the "emerald" was in reference to one of the Chaos Emeralds, but then someone on Twitter suggested it was the Master Emerald and I'm like "d'oh!"

Tails and Knuckles are going to be DOING THINGS again. Yay!

A no-brainer, but a welcome one.

Interesting, I wonder what the significance of the Master Emerald will be without the Chaos Emeralds?
