Senran Kagura

It finally happened: Senran Kagura is coming to BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle, with Yumi being confirmed as one of upcoming nine characters.

Happy 8th anniversary. Even if there isn't much to celebrate.

Almost a year with no new information about 7even... seems pretty typical because of non-disclosure agreements and all that jazz, but it also poses a risk that it might end up going the way of the dodo and never leave the development phase.

I think the whole Sony censorship fiasco really demoralized the more than it should have. I recall one interview where someone says that recent events might cause an upcoming game perform less than expected due to how it might affect the game, which is really easy to guess what they might be talking about.

You guys didn't know? Takaki has completely washed his hands from SK 7 or any other future SK game. And going by his comments, SK 7 has effectively stopped development.

So, I decided to get my first game in this series: Estival Versus. I’m enjoying it so far.

I did hear of 7even’s current Development Hell, and I have to say I wish anime game devs would just move to Switch, but I understand that PS 4 is where the money is at, and a lot of anime games are niche.

Hmm... interesting information... I guess that I would be correct to say that SK 7 is essentially Vaporware now much like Sonic Xtreme...

Senran Kagura is getting a full-on crossover game with Neptunia.

I assume this is probably gonna be a hack and slash spin-off for Neptunia?

I also look forward to any voice actor jokes between Noire/Ikaruga and Uni/Homura.

Tamsoft does Senran and they did the Hyperdimension Neptunia U: Action Unleashed series of action games. This does not come as a huge surprise tbh.

Both series are kinda dying as well.

Huh... I haven't heard much of Senran Kagura then. I thought the series was officially dead once Sony's policies hit the final nail in the coffin.

The series has been on life support thanks to New Link. There really hasn't been any major news for a long time (if you don't count New Wave being discontinued).

I dont think Neptunia is dead, it is just that we haven’t been getting a new mainline game since VII.

We’ve been getting mostly spin-offs or remakes since then, so I think it’s alive just stagnant.

When its big news is a the 4th remake of the first game with randomization elements added to it... its on its last legs.

That I’ll concede with you on.

There is also the third-person shooter spin-off game.

Man, Neptunia really does need a brand new mainline game. I’ll agree that they’ve been really stagnant over the past few years.

Let's try to keep this on-topic with the crossover game, ok? Any discussions on the Neptunia franchise in general and why it's declining can go on its own thread.

To be fair I was responding to the claim that both series are dying.

Anywho, I hope this gets localized to the West.

I wish I can say it's guaranteed like the other games but, considering Senran Kagura's decline in relevancy in the west, this one is a big "if". Also, forgive me if my memory is being terrible again but, is Senran Kagura no longer Marvelous' property? Because Marvelous was a key factor in the series' prior success in the west.

So I do indeed get to play the crossover between two of my favorite game franchises? YES!!!

So I just found out that the crossover is coming out on Switch next year…in Japan. Hopefully we get it in the west as well. And hopefully a physical release at that.
