Putin's war against Russia's last independent TV channel.
No discussion regarding nuclear war. As nuclear weapons are not being used by either side, nuclear war is off-topic.

It's almost like you cannot be a political figure of any serious notice when only 55% of the people even know who you are and less than 1% say they trust you.
Also, proof that everybody uses trolls nowadays. And not only nowadays.
Everyone doing something doesn't make it right.
And I'm not sure if being poplar means someone's death is less suspicious.

I'm baaaaaaack
Should I remind you your own words? You said:
Wait a minute, you think anyone's joking about this? We're dead serious here. His political opponents have turned up dead on multiple occasions, He's invaded other countries more than once in power-grabs, and he's had the constitution changed to give him power. There's no joke here.
Why did you even mention that in your argument that "we're dead serious here" about Putin being [insert appropriate tyranically sounding tytle] if you have no proof to link Putin to that?
Was Putin also somehow guilty in Nadezhda "DEMOCRACY IS IN DANGER! KILL SOME COMMIES!" Novodvorskaya? She was a prominent critic of Putin's "regime" all the time. Oh, and super fat.
[YAWN]
And you call this news? Or do you imply that someone here on TV Tropes is "troll-for-hire"?

The Daily Telegraph? Sorry, but that is not a reliable source on any EU-related stuff. Especially given the tone they have in their links section - it's far too opinionated and reads more like a comments section.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard Feynman.*stretch*.*Scratch nose*.*wonder why we're typing our actions*.
Hey draw your own conclusions. I was just stating things that have happened. I'm not making implications just making discussion. We're clearly not agreeing over Putin so I figured "Hey, lets see what's in the news. Maybe we can discuss something else"
"remond you"
Remind you OF your own words, you mean.

I'm baaaaaaackHey, not all of us are native English speakers with polished Latin alphabet typing skills. Cut the poor guy some slack.
This is Conspiracy Theories fan's outlook on the world. First rule of it - "There is no such thing as coincidence". If such things are "suspicious" to you, then what do you think about 9/11? Or the Moon Landing? Or the Rosewell incident? Or Princess D's death?
Hey, I can make totally unbased claims and long-rangin conclusions too! See, Abraham Lincoln was born in 1809 - 9 month befor the misterious "suicide" of Meriwether Lewis! Coincidence? I don't think so!
You mean - "POPULAR"? See, two can play this "Grammar-Nazi" game here!

Just trying to help him. Lord knows I've made plenty of mistakes without knowing they were. I though "alot" was valid for years.
Though he's never said here he's from so how should anyone know he's not a native English speaker, much less a non-latin written language?
Calm down dude. I never said there are no coincidences. I just brought them up. I'm sure plenty of people are suddenly shot on the streets in Russia, it happens. Much like some people just want to know what plutonium tastes like before they go.
Also, I was just trying to help you out. There's a few words that were missing is all. I'm on a buggy school computer that likes to lag out while typing so sometimes it skips letters on me. This one paragraph I had to re-type 3 spaces and it tried to ignore half the word "computer". Almost ended up with coter.
Also, Conspiracy Theorists are usually referred to as such.

I'm baaaaaaackSo, nobody wants to talk about that sunken ship?
He knows about Novodvorskaya being a homicidal nutcase. Not many people outside of Russia know that.

I did hear of it briefly in the media, but no more than that. What is going on, exactly?
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanA Russian fishing vessel in the Okhotsk sea sunk recently, and in clear weather, no less. 56 of the crew are confirmed dead, 63 have been rescued. The most likely case of the catastrophe is theorised to be the captain's negligence of the proper safety protocols.
Got an English Version anywhere? Google translate isn't always accurate.
That sounds more like a biased opinion than fact, given there's not evidence of her ever murdering anyone, but fair enough.

I'm baaaaaaackNovodvorskaya - I mean that her rhetoric was insane and radical enough to make her, essentially, a counterpart for Zhirinovsky. For example, she advocated nuking Iraq, and justified it with an example of how Japan nowadays is so advanced, despite having A-bombs dropped on it. Oh, and she was also a huge fan of apartheid, and even invented her own concept of "class apartheid," where the rich people live in palatial skyscrapers and the poor people live underground and work in factories while being on psychotropic drugs 24/7 so that they don't rebel.

Sad, but it happens. People cut corners or take stupid risks and the result is sometimes a bodycount.
Politics is the skilled use of blunt objects. It's an indictment of the quality of the thread when the tragic death of 56 mariners produces better chat than politics.

It's a terrible tragedy. Those poor men, out to provide for their families and feed people back home, just snatched away like that. I'd be cautious about speculating about incompetence at the moment. They could have hit a rogue wave or a submerged ice hazard. Some things just can't be prevented. Of course, someone could have fucked up, but lets wait until something's confirmed. Poor, poor lads.

Schild und Schwert der Partei
Plus, Novodvorskaya is considered to be the "Icon of the Russian Liberalism" (tm) - both by the so-called Russian so called liberals and their detractors.
Anyone saying anything bad about Putin is considered an "icon" of liberalism. Which then turns into real facepalm-worthy moments when American conservatives start enjoying praise from our "liberals".
Which really puts me between a frying pan and a freezer. On one side, pro-Putin conservative "orthodox activists" enjoying total and absolute freedom to do fucking anything they please, and their so-called liberal opponents, who worship the same conservatives from far away.
Frying pan and a freezer?
Oh really when?Think of it as 'between the sword and the wall'.
Rock and a hard place?
Oh really when?Honestly, at this point, all I want is for the law applying equally to all activists. Just once.
If Dmitry Enteo ever faces the same things as Pussy Riot(ridicilous show trial, introduction of a law inhibiting future activism, nation-wide coverage of said show trial, so on) I will withdraw every single bad thing I've said about Putin. Yes, I am aware that the Pussy Riot members were eventually released and I wouldn't care if the same applied to Enteo. The nation-wide humiliation, the shift of public opinion, the death of his cause, it'd be the best present in the universe. I'd download a case documentary and watch it every day.

No one considered Eduard Limonov an "Icon of Liberalism", despite the fact that he participated in the "Initiative 31" rallies and lashed out at Putin and Ed Ro.

Do you consider yourself a "Russian Liberal"?

Or that, yeah. I used the Portuguese expression for the situation.
Eh one lady saying stupid shit doesn't change my mind about Putin and his bullshit anyway. Don't Shoot the Message and all that good stuff.
I'm baaaaaaack
Wow, only 60% of the country knew who he was! 90 million is such a small number of people.
I mean that's even less than the 63% of Americans who know which parties control congress! It's almost like not everyone follows politics.
