The realm of Norwegia was once ruled by the proud viking peoples. Until Loki tricked the other gods, locked them up, sealed away their power, and seized control of the world. The frost giants now rule the land, with mankind reduced to being their servants. Numerous fortresses litter the world, keeping the gods and other enemies of Loki imprisoned. However, by channeling the powers of Ragnarök, and forcing parts of their spirits to return to the world, some of the gods have managed to elect champions to fight to free the world. Now these heroes, summoned to the Pillar of Skrrgn - the mountain said to be the original home of mankind - located in the center of the viking world, must fight to free Norwegia.
If you are hoping for a completely accurate portrayal of Norse mythology, turn back now. RUN! NOW! If you are hoping for badass over-the-top non-stop viking-themed action, adventure, and 'diplomacy', with a healthy dosage of being very angry and shouting at things until they die, then by all means, continue.

The gist of it is that you're heroes appointed by the gods to save Norwegia from Loki. To do this, you need to liberate villages to acquire men and maidens to fight for you or defend your lands from attack, and mead and metal to support your economy. You'll start out with just the things on your back and the other player characters by your side. There will be several small villages which you can decide to target, each with its own particular benefits, and as you go along, you'll have to learn the location of other villages, legendary weapons, magical artifacts and areas, prisons of the gods, and more. There will also be some time progression as well, which will occur when you guys do things like walk to new villages, take a week off to celebrate and drink, sail on a ship, etc. During that time, your assets will work away to further your goals, or might have situations come up that need to be dealt with.

This is a made-up world of virtually endless ice, snow, and oceans that has the Norse gods and goddesses hanging around, but it is not Earth. It's a place where men and women know how to fight, magic and mead are parts of everyday life, and there's other viking-related things going down. I have worldbuilding stuff that I can use if need be, but I want to make the existing stuff minimal so that if you guys come up with ideas "Oh man, there should be a place that..." I can roll with it.

Also note that your characters are not going to be weaklings. This is the rather high end of Super Weight 3, and as the game goes on you'll find weapons, armor, and items that can make you even stronger. Likewise, your enemies will be tough bastards. And you are now immortal, so if your character somehow dies in battle, they can punch Hel or the Viking Devil in the face and come back.

The rules are pretty simple. Aside from the default forum rules and roleplaying rules, I just ask that you play nice and respect each other. Oh, and I guess even though I really should hope I don't have to say it, I'm going to say it anyway: I know we're playing vikings, but for the love of Jesus, no rape bullshit, and I will kick you out without any second chances if you try pulling that shit. And on top of that, I'd bet there's a good chance you might just get outright banned from the site since the mods will probably not think you're worth keeping around.

Character Sheet
  • Name:
  • Age: Minimum age is 21, maximum is, well, whatever. 120?
  • Sex:
  • Power Ballad: The song that we can imagine playing in the background whenever your character is doing some serious ass-kicking.
  • Appearance: Just because everyone's a viking doesn't mean that you have to have dudes with bare chests and wolf pelts, or chicks with chainmail bikinis and horned helms. There's all sorts of other viking types, like armored types and shield maidens to name a couple. Tropes Are Flexible, so as long as it's sorta viking-ish, it's cool. But no loli bullshit. Tropes aren't that flexible. And a really important thing is that you don't have to be white like real-world vikings, this isn't Earth so you can have vikings of any race you want. It's not the color of your skin that matters, but the size of your beard.
  • Personality: A lot of this RP is going to be driven by how your characters interact with each other, with enemies, with neutral parties, and with the gods. So while you can have a wide range of personalities, I'm not gonna accept any really anti-social types, because that will just wind up being a burden to support.
  • Patron: The Norse god your character serves. You can use this list (but ignore Loki and Hel, of course). This actually doesn't really do anything now. (At least it doesn't have to, if you want to put it in your backstory, you could say that your person was feeling old/tired/injured etc. and being made a hero boosted them to what they are now, or it gave them a desire to HAMMER EVERYTHING, but that's not needed.) Mainly it'll be used by me to try and make things more relevant to your characters. And it'll probably affect who you refer to when your character swears. Also there's no exclusivity, there can totally be three people serving the same god. Just... please... not everyone be appointed by Thor, okay? Please.
  • Stats: Don't think too hard about this, I'm not using a dice system or anything, so exactly what this entails isn't too important. This is really just my way of gauging what you think your character is good and bad at. Each stat will also be used to determine if you are worthy or capable of using magical items you find in the game, while Muscles, MADNESS, and Magicks also affect some starting stuff defined below. For a reference, most generic NPC soldiers will be roughly E in every category, and still be the equivalent of 1980's Arnold Schwarzenegger in terms of physical might. Each letter higher is roughly twice as good as the previous letter.
    You get an A, B, C, D, and E rank to distribute.
    • Muscles: How strong you are and how hard you hit with your weapons. Also adds a slight bit of power to your SHOUTS.
    • Machoness: How tough you are. How much damage your skin and muscles can resist, and being more macho lets you ignore increasingly life-threatening injuries while still being able to fight. Being a magical stat means that your armor is already magically factored into this stat. Magically.
    • Movement: How fast you are, both in speed and attack/reaction times, and how accurate you are when throwing weapons (or people), using ranged SHOUTS, or using ranged weapons.
    • MADNESS: How MAD you can get. Lets you know more, better, stronger SHOUTS.
    • Magicks: Your skill in using and understanding the magicks. Lets you know and carry around more powerful spells.
  • Spirit Axe: Everyone gets to have an axe. For free! It's okay if you don't ever use it, you still get to have it. But if you don't want to even have an axe... I'm going to have to politely, yet firmly, ask you to leave. Cause axes will be required when you die, since they allow you to axe the viking-devil. Anyway, when you got empowered, some of your spirit kind of spilled out and formed an axe. A spirit axe. By the way, your spirit is made out of metal and wood. The style of axe is up to you (one or two handed, double-headed, etc. Name it and design your own for maximum badass!). Every axe has the ability to be hidden away in hammerspace... err... axespace. If you ever lose your axe, you can perform a special ritual (You spend a minute yelling its name) and it will return to you. Additionally, only you can lift up your axe, and for all others who try to pick it up off the ground, it feels impossibly heavy.
    • Spirit Axe Ability: This is the money, right here. You can give your axe one special innate power. This could be pretty much anything (within reason, of course), like being able to shift into a twenty-foot-long form, or being on fire, or cold, or slightly magnetic, or electric - whatever. Just don't make it really broad.
  • SHOUTS: You get one SHOUT for every letter/point/thing you have in MADNESS (E gives one, D gives two... and A gives five), and each one also gets to be a bit more powerful in effect than the previous one, with A rank shouts being some seriously sweet shit. These are like are kind of like magic spells, but way more macho. Shouts allow you to physically manifest your willpower by channeling energy through YELLING REALLY LOUD, and these must relate to battle in some way. They come in two types: Offense, such as punching someone with your voice, shooting a fireball at them, or creating a small fissure; and defense, such as setting yourself on fire. The key thing is that they all have a physical aspect. Try not to go crazy with what you make up. Scratch that, feel free to go crazy - hell, I encourage you to make up crazy stuff - just keep the scale pretty low.
    • E rank SHOUT: (Everyone gets an E rank, at the very least. You get another for every point of MADNESS)
  • Spells: You get a spell for every Magicks you have, similar to how SHOUTS and MADNESS work. The are more for utility, and do things not directly related to attack and defense. While SHOUTS must have physical aspects, these don't, so this is the place for your bard and White Mage and healing spells.
    • E rank spell: (And another increasing-letter-rank spell for every point of Magicks)
  • Weapons: In addition to your axe, you are strong enough to carry another weapon (or shield, I guess) for every point of Muscles you have. Well it's more like one other set per point. If it's something tiny, like a dozen throwing axes, or a pair of small one-handed weapons, or a sword-and-shield combo, just count the group as one weapon. Each of your weapons has a weight rank, much like spells and SHOUTS have ranks. How it's implemented is that they are so heavy that only someone who meets the Muscles requirement can carry or use it.
    • E weight weapon: (And another increasing-letter-rank weapon for every point of Muscles)
  • History: Loki took over really recently, about a month ago, so you don't have to worry about having a character who's spent their life under oppression. If you want to be from a place that actually exists instead of a handwaved generic village, and actually want the possibility of freeing it during the game, please make sure to list its relative size (or more accurately, the number of people it has, which could be around 40 or so on the low end, and 1,000 or more on the high end), and maybe if it's known for anything special (mines, stables, mead, archery, shipwrights, etc.) The more people and resources it has, then the harder it will be to liberate, and thus the longer it will be until you can feasibly go there.

This looks so awesome. I'd also like to mention that horned helmets were never an actual thing, and chainmail underwear was even less of a thing, so if I see anyone with those I will absolutely use the horns as the handholds they are and never forget to ask you why your character is not being tortured by a combination of frostbite, chafing, and being stabbed in the exposed stomach.

(I'm sorry I just utterly hate the chainmail bikini trope.)

I think I'll whip up a lady warrior-mage who follows Freya.

Ah, very nice. Yeah, those are the more stereotypical media portrayals, like what you'll find on the first page of Google Image Search, and I wanted to make it clear that you don't have to follow the pop culture zeitgeist when it comes to their attire. You can if you want, though. Perhaps play it up as two different ideologies which your characters can "discuss" in the game: "What sort of coward hides in a fancy shield suit!?" vs "What sort of fool fights in his pajamas!"

Are the antlers still attached? If so then you have some giant, unwieldy handholds right on your skull.

Okay. This concept be awesome. Makin a char.

•Name: Ogard Corpse Eater •Age: 89 years, two months, and five days

•Sex: Male

•Power Ballad: DOOOOOOOOOM!

•Appearance: A pale man, wrapped in furs. His face horrifically wounded, held together only by the sewing of his hand, his eyes glowing a bright, burning green. His teeth, all pointy, sharp, serrated, perfect for ripping flesh off of his victims

•Personality: A blood thirsty savage, who enjoys four things, in this order: 4. regaling others with tales of his past conquests. 3. Scaring the piss out of people. He oft claims he is empowered by others fright. This is not true, he just says it to screw with people. 2. Fighting. This was the primary reason he joined the quest. So he could slay many, many foes. 1. Beer. Mead. Wine. Ale. Alcohol in general. He loves the stuff, and is fairly easily bribed by it. Otherwise, he has a rather morbid sense of humor, and frequently tries to gross other people out, claiming their discomfort to be 'THE GREATEST SOURCE OF HUMOR IN ALL THE NINE REALMS!'. He also has a very, very greedy personality. Which is exemplified by his desire to overthrow Hel and take over her realm. Or bed her and make her his wife. He hasn't really decided, and doesn't really care.

•Patron: Villi •Stats: ◦Muscles: C ◦Machoness: B ◦Movement: E ◦MADNESS: D ◦Magicks: A

•Spirit Axe: Rustbringer, a two handed axe, dirty, and covered in reddish rust from handle to blade. Litterally, almost all of the surface is rusted, and a cloud of redish air follows it around. Somehow it is still sharp, however ◦Spirit Axe Ability: Rustbringer, as its name implies, causes severe rusting on whatever it touches, weakening armor, and making weapons brittle

•SHOUTS: Terrifying presence, which, as the name implies, makes Ogard the scariest person in the room(Or immediate area) , and Energy Drain, which , as the name implies, drains a foes stamina, making them tired, while reinvigorating Ogard

•Spells:

◦E rank spell: Command undead - Gives Ogard control over a low to mid level undead

  • D rank spell: Shell - Improves the defense of the target
  • C rank spell: Enthrall - The targets will is removed, making them subservient to Ogard. Only works on those with a weaker will
  • B rank spell: Raise undead - Raises the targets corpse as a undead. How stronger/smarter/more willfull the target was in life will determine how powerful the target is undead. Targets raised this way will USUALLY be subservient to Ogard
  • A rank spell: Bind soul - Removes a persons soul and binds it to a non-living object of Ogards choice. May be used to strengthen undead, enchant weapons and armor, or simply be put into a block of wood or miscellaneous object for whatever reason.

•Weapons:

◦E weight weapon: 10 throwing hatchets

  • D: Spear
  • C: Big ass shield he normally uses alongside his Spirit Axe

•History: Born in the village of Gammurdang, located in the dark marshes, Ogard was always a morbid young boy. Fascinated with the supernatural, while his neighbor children were out wrestling, or, much more likely due to the fact that the dark marshes were, obviously, very , very cursed, cowering in their homes, he was out exploring the marshes, cutting up the various creatures that lived there, in order to find out what makes them tick. Eventually, he was accosted by a group of draugr, and, fleeing, he riecived a grievous wound. Falling somewhere in the swamp, he would have died had he not been found by the hermit. Taking him to his shack and healing him, the hermit began to teach him magics, and in return, Ogard would cook and clean for the hermit. Eventually, the hermit passed away, whereapon Ogard moved back home, still continuing his study of magic. Eventually, it was discovered that the town was a magic nexus, simply brimming with the energies required to perform magic, and the marshes surrounding it had many plants nessesary for potioncraft. Thus a small magic school opened up there, which increased the traffic to the town, but not by much. However, as traffic increased, so did the number of undead. Resolving to get rid of the curse on the marsh, Ogard began study at the magic school. There, his ability at magecraft increased. Eventually, he stumbled upon a dark tome of eldritch lore. Warping his mind, it gave him the ability to command the undead roaming the swamps. He no longer wished to destroy them. He would RULE them! However, his plans for dominion over the undead have been sidetracted by Loki's ascention. He knew that with Loki in charge, the best he could play is third fiddle, behind even Hel. So, he decided, why not try and overthrow them? With that, he began looking for ways to increase his power in order to overthrow Loki. Then? Then he was made a champion. Now, his goals are different. With the gods apparently backing him, he might have a chance of overthrowing Hel, and being named King of the Dead. So, now he seeks to free Norwegia, and ascend to godhood.

  • Village info: Named Gammurdang, it has a population of 170, and is home to a small magic school, and houses a cursed graveyard filled with the spirits of the restless dead, who may, possibly, be convinced to help fight Loki. Also, surrounding the village is a marsh filled with both potion ingredients, and undead, which arise from dead bodies which fall in the mud, which channels dark magics. Said undead are controlled by a ancient draugr. Should the ancient be killed, command will pass to whomever killed him.

[up]It's the damned spellcheck wrecking my wordssad I just write Ragnarok usually, I don't even know how to write those fancy characters in particular, I just know they need an alt-code.

@Caliburnplm: So in general, I'm not gonna be too hard on signups, but there's still some stuff there that's not very clear to me. I'd need to know some more specifics about those spells, just having a name with no description means I have to guess. And he can claim whatever he wants, since what your characters say/think is up to you, but his patron can't be ambiguous, is it Vili or not? And the last thing is about that Life Drain shout, for being on the weaker end of the spectrum, it should just drain people's stamina (Like an improved version of GAAN from Skyrim, which I think you were going for).

Oh, also, if you use an asterisk (*) at the start of each line, instead of that bullet character (•) you have now, it'll make things much easier to read. Right now that post is a bit hard to make out.

  • Name: Sigrun Roskasdottir
  • Age: 24
  • Sex: Female
  • Power Ballad: Absolute Configuration
  • Appearance: This, but with human ears and the hair pulled into a sensible bun
  • Personality: Sigrun is extremely devoted to the cause and her goddess, as the temple of Freyja raised her her entire life. She generally tries to remain focused in battle, but a sufficient threat can cause her to go into a berserker rage.
  • Patron: Freyja
  • Stats:
    • Muscles: D
    • Machoness: E
    • Movement: C
    • MADNESS: B
    • Magicks: A
  • Spirit Axe: Mercy - a halberd with runes engraved into the blade. At the center is a stylized flame. The entire halberd is clearly well-cared for, with the blade polished to a shine and the handle wrapped in carefully-cleaned leather.
    • Spirit Axe Ability: The axe can throw arcs of energy.
  • SHOUTS:
    • E rank SHOUT: Basically just Fus Ro Dah
    • D rank SHOUT: Throws bolts of lightning.
    • C rank SHOUT: Encases Sigrun and her weapons in a shell of golden fire, which acts as a very basic protection, and which can be controlled by Sigrun (ie, if she gets thrown into a wooden wall while using this shout, it won't be set on fire unless she wants it to).
    • B rank SHOUT: Immobilizes opponents, though the effectiveness varies based on how many targets there are and their respective magical resistance, ranging from complete immobilization to disorientation.
  • Spells:
    • E rank spell: A basic healing spell
    • D rank spell: Gives a sort of magivision that can see any active magic someone has on them or is using.
    • C rank spell: Allows Sigrun to become aware of positions and movement within a 10-foot-radius. She would not be able to use this to read someone's facial expression, but would be able to tell where they were and if they were rushing to attack her.
    • B rank spell: Gives extremely fast flight
    • A rank spell: Allows Sigrun to summon construct-animals shaped like cats, falcons, or boars of varying sizes. She can summon six of normal size for reconnaissance, three about the size of a large dog, or one big-horse sized one.
  • Weapons:
    • E weight weapon: 15 throwing knives
    • D weight weapon: A pair of long knives that can be dual-wielded.
  • History: Sigrun was a warrior-dedicate of Freya at a temple. She lived there for as long as she can remember, as her mother Roska left her there after giving birth at the temple. She spent her life learning the arts of battle and magic, and though she always wanted to be the sort of warrior to cleave through battlefields, she knew that this would require breaking ties with the temple, which was nigh-unthinkable for her. Thus she has largely accepted that she would instead spend her life protecting the temple and those who sought its help, and was mostly happy with this. When Loki's takeover began, she viewed it as her duty to work to defeat him.
    • Temple info: The Temple of Freyja is located within a day's travel to one of Norwegia's major cities and a handful of smaller cities. It offers protection to anyone in need, especially to abused women or children (though men are as welcome to their aid as anyone).Healers from the temple often help in pregnancies that have gone wrong beyond the midwife's abilities, and often take in orphans.

@Karrin Blue: You didn't list what her last SHOUT was, so I'll wait until you finish that up. For her axe, you have to choose just one ability. But I guess you can just make her C-rank SHOUT do the fire thing to her axe and body, instead of just her body, so it might be better to just give it the boomerang power and add her weapons to her SHOUT's effect. Which I guess in the end winds up being almost the same thing.
Also her B and C rank spells are pretty similar, I think it's unfair to you to have them separate, since I wouldn't be able to make a very big difference between the two in terms of how NPCs react, so you can just combine them into one thing. Maybe like if you use it against weaklings it'll immobilize them, and using it on groups or people with increasing levels of magic resistance would make them suffer some extent of disorientation instead. Since that's more of an offensive ability, I'd say you should just make that your B-rank SHOUT, and then you'd have two more spells free.\\ Also you don't need to make flying that high-rank, you could just bump it down to B and then you could have a fancy new A-rank spell in its place.

@Claw: He looks fine but that E-rank spell seems like a little much, bolstering other stats like that. If you were to replace it with some other low-power spell he'd be fine. Also, did you have any ideas for his village, since I guess from that backstory that you'd want to visit it at some point.
And is Oden how you Swedish guys spell it over there? I think if it is, I'll count that as the fun fact of the day.

• Name: Hildr Korydotter

• Age: 30 (looks about 10 years younger because of goddess shenanigans )

• Sex:Female

• Power Ballad: [1]

• Appearance: Hildr has dark hair that’s cut at her shoulders, heavily tanned skin, and dark brown eyes. She’s shorter than most people, but she’s stocky and can get a surprising amount of muscle out of her small frame. She wears a simple breastplate of armor and leather arm guards over her purple tunic. Her weapons are strapped to her back under a deer skin cloak. She also wears brown boots and an iron helmet with little antler nubs of a deer built into it.

• Personality: Hildr is pretty much the personification of youth, or at least the parts about having enthusiasm for Viking style living. The world is an amusement park and she thinks everyone just hasn’t figured that out yet. But that’s okay, because she’s always willing to help them understand via demonstration. Hooray for voracious living! She stays cheerful in any situation about 95% of the time, and the other 5% when she’s actually pissed, she’ll cheerfully beat the cause halfway to death until it gets the program. Hildr loves food, alcohol, trees, horses, cattle, people, hammers, parties, boats, sunlight, rainstorms, fighting, snow, …etc. Interrupting her or someone else’s enjoyment of life is one of the few things that grate her nerves. Basically the happiest Viking in all Norwegia.

• Patron: Iðunn, goddess of apples and youth.

• Stats:

o Muscles: B

o Machoness: A

o Movement: E

o MADNESS: D

o Magicks: C

o Spirit Axe: Double headed hatchet named “Sunbeam”. Its blade seems to glow an ethereal golden color all the time, and the wooden handle is still rough like bark in places, like it just came off a tree.

o Spirit Axe Ability: Sunbeam’s blade can reflect and give off light and energy, absorbing and firing blasts of it at will like lasers.

• SHOUTS:

E rank SHOUT: Brighten-Increases all the power of light sources in the area, blinding enemies.

D rank SHOUT: Thrive- Causes plants in the area to grow very quickly and far bigger than normal.

• Spells:

- E rank spell: Harvest (usually causes apples to appear, but anything that can be grown naturally can be summoned.)

- D rank spell: Cook (creates heat waves to burn things like wood and well, cook food. Mmm, pie…)

- C rank spell: Butter Up (It calms NPC people and animals down if they’re angry, but it can be overcome if they’re annoyed enough.)

• Weapons:

o E weight weapon: A sledge hammer, like the one you’d find in a tool box.

o D weight weapon: A long simple throwing spear made of wood and iron.

o C weight weapon: A round wooden shield reinforced with metal

o B weight weapon: Fix-It, a ridiculously large battle hammer made of solid metal that takes 2 hands to hold. The hammer’s head is bigger than the average person’s head, and is used both for battles and occasionally tenderizing meat for cooking.

• History: Hildr was born in the small village of Grønnby as the child of the village’s chief Kory Manningson. She grew up in the Jarl class, watching her father attempt to please his people with flowing food and treasure. Knowing she may ne day be in this same role, she made it her livelong goal to be as cool of a guy as him, helping people out and generally spreading happiness. Her patron goddess encouraged this, and gifted her with longer youth so she would not have to grow old and cynical just yet. As Iðunn already has a grudge with Loki, when she was captured, she chose Hildr to help free her and punish the one who wronged her once again.

Grønnby has around 300 people in it, and specializes in wood products, like boats and shields and wooden weapons.

This is exciting. I have a friend with some intention of joining as well.

  • Name: Xarok
  • Age: 35
  • Sex: Male
  • Power Ballad: Timeless Miracle - Curse of the Werewolf (Had to do some digging to find this.)
  • Appearance: Six-and-a-half feet tall, Xarok ripples with the appropriate amount of muscle for a pro wrestler. He tries to keep his balding head and face completely shaven, though he isn't consistent about it. When it does grow out, it is dark brown in color. His feral eyes are ice-blue.

He wears gray half-plate armor, with the other half being lots of dark, ragged chainmail. His pauldrons resemble wolf skulls, and a wolf motif is found throughout. Xarok's helmet, rarely worn, appears as a simple steel skullcap with a noseguard and mail draping around the sides of his head.
  • Personality: Xarok is slow to anger, having mastered that emotion for use in battle. He usually remains calm under stress and has a good sense of humor. However, his lycanthropy sometimes manifests in animalistic, instinctual behavior. For example, the bared teeth in a wide smile or the arched back of a respectful bow can come across as threats, and it takes some self-control not to react inappropriately. Like any predator, he prefers attacking the weak and vulnerable in battle, and is not above using tactics some would find dishonorable.

Xarok thrives in the tundra and taiga, but hates the open water, and becomes easily seasick on longboats and other raiding vessels.
  • Patron: Skadi, goddess of ice and the hunt. Xarok prayed to her occasionally for a rewarding hunt, but was a poor supplicant until she designated him her champion and granted him her power over the cold of winter. Given Njord's hand in marriage as a sign of peace, Skadi has no loyalty to her Frost Giant kin and is as faithful to the Asgardians as any other goddess.
  • Stats:
    • Muscles: D
    • Machoness: C
    • Movement: B
    • MADNESS: A
    • Magicks: E
  • Spirit Axe: The Bitter Splitters - Twin war axes, each about two feet long. They have large round blades on one side, with cruel spikes on the other. The business ends also have spikes for stabbing-action, making it difficult to swing the weapons in a way that wont hurt the intended target. The dark metal of the axes is inscribed with runes, and a wolf head is artfully worked into the hilt.
    • Spirit Axe Ability: Teleport Toss - The axes can instantly reappear in Xarok's belt, but only after a throw. Despite their melee-oriented shape, they throw as well as any francisca.
  • SHOUTS:
    • A: Wolf Form – Xarok slowly and painfully assumes the form of a bipedal wolf, losing the benefits of his equipment completely, but gaining many others. He is half a foot taller and covered in white and gray fur, camouflaged well against the snow. His SHOUTS become HOWLS.

He is physically much faster, stronger, and his claws and teeth can rend armor and flesh alike. He begins to regenerate damage at an incredible rate, recovering from wounds that would be mortal for most (except those caused by silver, which regenerate at natural human speeds). Xarok can remain in this form indefinitely, though his speech is harsh and unclear, he has poor manual dexterity, and his animal instincts are harder to fight.

When he does shift back, his equipment miraculously reappears, although he is in great pain and will require rest.
    • B: Berserk – Xarok unleashes his full fury after a short period of concentration, dramatically increasing his melee attack rate and dulling his sense of pain.
    • C: Frost Nova – A ring of bitingly cold air bursts from Xarok's feet, chilling and slowing anyone nearby.
    • D: Shiver Armor – A personal arctic whirlwind swirls around Xarok, deflecting ranged attacks and the cold.
    • E: Rime – Xarok's weapons become coated in extremely cold ice, slowing foes with each strike and potentially leading to frostbite.
  • Spells:
    • E: Passive Lycanthropy - Xarok's senses are better than those of a human's, and he regenerates somewhat faster from wounds (other than those caused by silver, which regenerate normally).
  • Weapons:
    • D: Hunting Bow
    • E: Skinning Knife
  • History: Xarok was born to an isolated pack of nomadic werewolves known as the Úlfhéðnar (singular Úlfheðinn) in the northern tundra. Though he favored the hunting game in the western taiga and gradually became distant after adulthood, he would always defend his pack when they faced a direct threat. And a threat they face indeed; imprisoned now by the frost giants in a place unknown to Xarok.

He seeks to free them above all else, but his great sense of personal liberty (as well as the goddess Skadi) calls him to help the entire land.

Ok, I edited it, but I can't think of a good A-rank spell.

@ Karrin Blue: Summon a fire giant.

Also, I think horned helms should only be encouraged in an RP like this. Maybe they give your enemies an advantage, but it's well worth it. Only reason Xarok doesn't have one is because he wouldn't wear it enough for it to matter.

@Scorpio: [tup] But please, for the love of God, you have to use the phrase "how do you like them apples?" tongue

@Styg: [tup] Though for the lycanthropic SHOUT, specifically the healing part, figure that if he takes a ton of damage - like gets a limb chopped off or something like that - he wouldn't be able to regrow it super-fast in the middle of a fight.

@Karrin: If you can't think of another spell, you could leave it blank and I'll randomly assign one for you. Or you could shift your stats around to focus on another category. Just let me know what you decide.

Sure, I'll keep him a few steps away from vampire regeneration. It's a toggle, not an active.

Would it work if I made my A-spell the ability to form animal constructs of varying sizes? Say, six small ones for reconnaissance, 3 about the size of a big dog, or one really huge (size of a very large horse) one? In the shapes of cats, falcons, or boars, since those are the animals associated with Freyja as far as I can tell?

Ok, edited. I also expanded the history and added a bit about the temple.
