So, another option to sorta slow the action down without making it too nasty is just to make a, like, general slowing. I know you guys have history in WAOA and so are predisposed to go fast as fuck, but R Ps like, for instance, City of Weirdos, generally you just don't immediately post a response. I dunno, maybe how about everyone just slows down a bit?

The Red Fever - The Atlasian Epidemic

When Atlas was torn apart, through war and greed, for approximately six centuries of colonization by the Kingdom of Vale (and, too a lesser extent, the city-states of Mistral), the kind-hearted and rebellious, who sought to see a return to equality, often focused purely on the human elements: the violence, the prejudice, the oppression and crime.

They didn't, generally, think of the disease. At least, not in terms of who would be affected. While it's true that on several occasions diseases from Vale and Mistral (or diseases as a result of difficult circumstances) led to the destabilization or erasure of entire tribes, the truth is that there was often frequent contact and trade between Vale, Mistral and their many colonies.

No one's sure how the Red Fever spread from the areas now controlled by the Sixth and Seventh Courts to the lands of Vale, but it's clear that no one was expecting it, principally because the disease didn't come in on infected animals or food, or people. It came in on Dust.

A peculiar virus, the Red Fever was eventually all but completely wiped out in very recent years (save for areas of the Seventh Court, where it remains untreated due to 'apathetic opinions', generally agreed to be something of a code-term for 'they've stopped supplying us with Dust, so what's the point in clearing it of infection?'), especially in Vale, where the vaccine was developed. However, it remains a sore point for many, due to its long history and the fact it was only 'stopped' very recently. Many individuals alive today both in Vale and Atlas will have lost relatives to the disease at some point.

Most viruses simply hijack the host's cells, reproducing, then spreading, rupturing the cell in the process. The Red Fever, however, was known to be able to do the same through not only human cells, but also Dust, albeit at a drastically slowed down rate. Dust infected by the Red Fever undergoes similar 'symptoms' to that of infected humans - body and organs become more brittle, the appearance of scaly red and pink patches on the skin as the blood begins to solidify and dry out, and in the case of humans, difficulty breathing as said brittle patches begin to form on the lungs, eventually choking the person. Infection further spreads by carrying itself on the breathe and fluids of infected people, or by hibernating in individual traces of Dust.

Needless to say, untreated infection is extremely painful and nearly always fatal - treatments to slow its effects (with the intention of giving the body enough time to adapt and kill it off directly) include applying ointments or lubrication to the skin and drinking three to four times as much water as normal: said treatments are found to work only about thirty percent of the time, due to the fact that the danger comes from internal dehydration.

Hey so we should probably index all of these posts about stuff. There's already 62 pages of discussion, and hell if I know which page has the thing about Grimm tiers, or nation descriptions, or what NPCs look like, or what the teams and partners are, and a week from now I won't remember that this page has the plague stuff.

What I ship?

I'm sorry thats classified.

I've seen Golden Sun and Percy Jackson shipping.

Thats enough for me to stay out of shipping discussions for my entire life.

Depending on whether I've already gone to the wedding reception before Insano posts or not, my next post may well be a recap of Initiation from Urujauni's perspective (technically, does this mean that I've got the pseudo job or recapping the entire thing in a single post(s, depending on length)?)

Ahahaha, oh you poor scrub.

I read Homestuck. You don't know shit about Shipping until it is actually in-universe. I'm not even talking like a character being a matchmaker, there is someone who says the word ships, and has a shipping wall. Drawn in blood.

oh please you think i haven't heard all about shipping in that from my friend?

And seeing a guy shipped with the roof of his house is just about enough for me. Course, even while I say I stay out of shipping discussions, one would most likely be able to clearly discern who I ship in Golden Sun Dark Dawn...

Lernaean

Based off of the Herculean Hydra myth

Upper β-class, lower α-class

Appearance: A reptilian Grimm with a body twice the height of a Deathstalker and just as thick, a tail that made it twice as long and a multitude of serpentine neck that made it a towering thing, ending with draconic heads. Its underbelly is armored with white bone, as are the top of its heads, with the bone masks signature to Grimm kind. The rest is exposed black flesh, with streaks of purple, red and rose throughout.

Abilities: It can exhale a toxic gas from all of its mouths and its blood is acidic, toxic and virulent all at once. Its signature ability, however, is its rapid regeneration. This is especially apparent in its necks, letting it recover rapidly from decapitation, replacing each lost head with two more.

To avoid growing too many heads, it will engage in periodic culling. The heads will attack each other, the winner devouring the loser and spitting its toxic breath on the stump. Historically, there are three stories told of how a particular Hunter defeated one of the Lernaen. One used fire to burn the stumps before they could regrow. A Hunter with a Semblance of incredible strength choose the expedient route of dropping a huge boulder on it.

An ancient Snikersnax champion, with the Vorpal Sword, came up with the novel method of chopping off its heads until it grew too many for its body to support, and fell unconscious. Then they set it on fire.

...I've got an interesting idea — is it possible that some families of Hunters are connected to families of Nobles, similar to the knight-nobility connection of medieval times?
