And? It's a 3-part video. Clouding a point by looking at it from a single angle isn't any way to try knocking it down.

<_< I just said it doesn't really feel like logical conclusion. And if you want to argue it in "Its part of other videos", then I'd like to point that from entertainment perspective its not really satisfying third video either tongue

Because it's not a conclusion. As I said before, it's an aspect of multiple factors, detailed in other videos.

I'll accept if you just want to say "I didn't like it."

If that is supposed to be "combination of three things" then it comes across really badly since he doesn't connect them together. Better example is the second "Mario is a sociopath" video where he connects everything in the second video and first video together.

So you want the overall message to be better-organized? I thought you were arguing against the message itself.

Again, I'll accept you simply saying "I don't like it." Because, I'm sorry, but I genuinely can't find your point here; don't think I'm not trying either. If I'm misunderstanding you in some way, then we'll be going in circles.

I'll cut to the chase: what was specifically wrong with what MatPat said, and what would you prefer he'd said or done differently?

._. You seem to get too agitated by random person disagreeing with a video. I agree with video until he brings Nintendo onto it since Nintendo isn't taking down youtube videos so why the hell youtubers would be afraid of that?

I agree that it would have been smarter if Nintedo had promoted their stuff more and had gotten youtubers do more let's plays and stuff, but saying they are actively agaisnt that isn't really true. Companies don't really ever care about those things, sometimes their lawyers get over excited, but there haven't been single case where the company doesn't take back the "Take down videos with out material" thing.

I'm sorry if I come off as agitated, but I get zealous when I want to dig into where someone is coming from (especially if where I think they're coming from seems illogical). And right now, I don't with you.

For me, it's not just a matter of not caring about YouTube and the like: failing to embrace it or ignoring it can be damaging as well. And if at any point you actually do oppose it, your good favor is naturally going to drop.

Does that sound like a fair assessment?

I ran into this series a while ago and was fascinated by these WMG-esque nature of his theories (especially the "Link is dead in Majora's Mask" one). I've actually posted several of them on their pertinent threads just to see what people think of the theories. Aside from the Marjoa's Mask one, I also really liked his "Humans are Pokemon" one.

I haven't watched the others on that channel yet. I should correct that.

Yeah, some of the theories are clearly just for fun WMG with evidence backing it, one of my favourite episodes are "Mario is a sociopath" ones since they frame whole series in hilariously dark light in a way that makes disturbing amount of sense. The humans are pokemon was actually one of my own wmg/headcanons and I think its one that might actually be in universe canon to some degree.

New Gaijin Goombah video. It plays off of MatPat's last video a bit in the middle.

They don't really <_< It comes apparent in interviews with them.

Hell, a lot of Japanese developers ignore non Japanese market and seem surprised or sad when Western market sells better than Japanese one.

I believe this problem is a general societal one, as Japan has historically been a rather insular nation which is all to happy to export to the outside world but not so much take it in (unless coerced but outside forces ie post War US).

They also seem to serve their people first and foremost and the rest of the world as a mere added bonus. This worked in the past, but this is not going to be stable for long in this new global age.

I'd like to point out that Vivian's true gender is debated, to my knowledge. Over in Japan, referring to a woman using male pronouns is, obviously, insulting (and that's on top of the fact that using pronouns to refer to someone who's name you know is already insulting under most circumstances) possibly even more than it is in the US. Since those other two never hid their distaste for Vivian, it's entirely possible that they were intentionally referring to her using male pronouns to insult her.

On the She's a Man in Japan page, it says that she's transgendered but I'm honestly not too sure about that. Given the number of examples on that page, he probably should have gone with something else.

<_< I'll just copy this directly from super mario wiki since this confusion seems to still exist

" In the Japanese version of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, Vivian was depicted as a male who identified as a female. It is openly stated in Vivian's character description, which is translated as "One of the Shadow Trio, Vivian appears to be a girl but is really a boy." (in Japanese: 「カゲ三人組の一人だった オンナのコのようで ホントは オトコのコ」). Additionally, Goombella's Tattle reads: "That's Vivian. Of the Shadow Trio, she's the youngest sister... er, brother." (in Japanese: 「『ビビアン』よ カゲ三人組の一人で いちばん下の妹 ・・・じゃなくて 弟ね」)[1][2].

An example of Beldam's "Plug-Ugly" insults toward Vivian While Beldam uses the term "majotachi" (meaning a group of sorceresses) to refer to her, Marilyn and Vivian as a collective, she also objects to Vivian trying to call the collective 「カゲ三姉妹」 Kage Sanshimai, the "Three Shadow Sisters", correcting the name to the gender-neutral 「カゲ三人組」 Kage Sanningumi, the "Shadow Trio", reminding Vivian that she is an 「オトコ」 otoko, "boy", written in red katakana for emphasis[2]. However, in the end, Goombella's letter indicates that Vivian's choice to be identified as female is accepted by her sisters as part of their efforts to be nice to her after the events of the game. "

So it basically seems like Beldam isn't as much as insulting her as much as she is being a dick by refusing her gender identity and insisting that since she is male she should refer herself as such tongue

A quick video from Gaijin Goombah. I found it pretty interesting, even as a non-fan of Mega Man.

It just serves to remind me that I'll probably never see a new Mega Man game. Mega Man Legends 3 will certainly never exist, at the very least.

I like the theory videos that focus on alternate character interpretations and things like that, such as the "Mario is a sociopath" video. The technical ones are pretty boring to me. Also Gaijin Goomba is annoying.
