Grant (the show's lead) released a statement backing the producers
Oh. That's not good.
One Strip! One Strip!Well, now that I've gotten over the surprise I find myself apathetic to Sawyer's fate. It's just by now these sorts of controversies feel as common as rain. Fire him or hire him back, means the same to me.
Adding to the Gunn mess was the fact those tweets were ALREADY KNOWN to various PTB when he signed the contract to direct Got G Vol 1 (2012 or so), at that time Gunn apologized and I believe deleted the tweets at that time.
They resurfaced in a very deliberate 'hit job' by some right wing jerks shortly after Rosanne was canned from her show for racist tweets- justified as her tweets were recent, and this was the second or third time she did something like this promised to 'do better' then didn't keep said promise, all this happened right in the middle of the Disney/Fox deal. So to insure that the deal wouldn't be soured they 'fired' Gunn.
Rumors were that Disney told Gunn to keep quiet and keep his head down and once the Fox deal was complete he'd be re-hired. Sure enough a week after the deal was finalized he was re-hired.
I'm still salty about this whole ordeal because it pushed guardians 3 after the next Thor movie, so Thor will not be in G3 😠.
You lost!I thought Thor was getting a cameo? Which was honestly all we were going to get anyway.
Gunn was EP of IW and Endgame and has stated he did get control to make edits to the scripts as needed for the Guardians, he also had access to the scripts while writing Vol 3 so Gunn had planed to deal with Thor in Vol 3. He had at least a first draft of Vol 3 completed before he was 'fired'.
My guess both the Guardians will have roles in Love and Thunder and Thor will be part of Vol 3 because why the heck not?
I don't mind Thor not being in GOTG 3. Endgame left Gunn with enough baggage to deal with without having to also push one of the other major characters in The 'Verse into his characters' story.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Any idea when this show will be back? Also Sawyer is screwed unfortunately. He's no big name like Gunn so he can't garner much audience support other than dedicated Flash fans. They might just recast him
I really wonder if the next Season will be an Immediate Sequel or have a few months in-between.
Because....well, poor Iris will probably have gone insane if it is the latter.

One Strip! One Strip!Trailer for Season 7 (or rather, the end of Season 6):
This just in! Once again, the Flash is too slow!
She's faster than me! says Barry Allen, to the surprise of NO ONE.
One Strip! One Strip! Now, Barry, when you say "we get everyone back..."
You can tell how much of a bind they've been in by how the majority of the trailer is just a recap of the previous season.

At the end of Season 6, Eva framed Sue Dearbon for a bunch of crimes. If Sue goes on the run, and Ralph tags along to help her, that might be simple enough.
"It takes an idiot to do cool things, that's why it's cool" - Haruhara HarukoGoddamnit, I really, really wanted to see Ralph and Sue Dibny on screen together for a long spell. Those two are great characters and keep getting screwed over one way or another.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Well, thank Hartley Sawyer for fucking that up major league.
One Strip! One Strip!Fingers crossed they have Ralph take the blame for the crimes, then adopt a new face (allowing in a new actor).
The longer they stall the inevitable Identity Crisis storyline the better.
You fell victim to one of the classic blunders!Ralph to be recasted

"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."
I want to hear what his fellow actors have to say about it. James Gunn had a lot of the Guardians cast defending him, and some family. He also had the fact that he'd apologized years in advance.
Lets see how Sawyer's fellow actors (especially Jesse L. Martin, Keiynan Lonsdale, and Candice Patton) have to say about him. If they are willing to vouch for him, then he probably should get another chance.
