He's earning his paycheck.
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.Well, at the very least, we won't have to worry about different writers writing characters inconsistently. (*glares at Dark Crisis: Young Justice miniseries*)
If I recall correctly, the Post Crisis Absolute Power involved Superman and Batman killing Wonder Woman after she failed to turn them back to normal, because The Legion Of Super Villains time traveled to change it so there never was a Superman or Batman who were friend with her. Diana wearing a Troia like star field suit suggested she knew the problem came from space...that Donna Troy bit the dust trying to find it...I never finished that one but The Bad Guys Win or Set Right What Once Went Wrong right?
It doesn't have the reputation of Amazons Attack, I remember that much clearly. I kind of get revisiting it.

I think metas were made just to make it easier to justify new villains and heroes.
Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters.Mutants are about the same, really. Instant Origin, just add water.
Wake me up at your own risk.Damn, RIP to a legend. Kept doing what she loved until 97, a life well-lived.
In other news, Arthur Jr. is confirmed dead in the new timeline according to DC Power 2024.
Poor Aqua-family. Andy better stay okay!

The Protomen enhanced my life.Huh so Jrs officially canon again.
Guess he was mentioned in the Black manta story. Anyone read the new Power Special?
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."TIL of Showcase #100, which united 60 DC characters who made their debut or had a magazine spin out of Showcase, from the Metal Men to Fireman Farrell, as they try to stop an alien from pulling Earth out of its orbit. While the Phantom Stranger and the Spectre help stop the initial invasion with help from everyone's memories, Lois Lane and Angel O'Day save Earth as they crawl through increasing amounts of radiation and pain to stop the alien machine and tear at its wires until it shorts out. Angel cries tears of joy and remarks that she's never been so happy about breaking something before.
I wonder if that radiation crawl inspired Metal Gear Solid 4.
The Protomen enhanced my life. That's a real kick to the balls for that one writer whose name I forget that was really obsessed with trying to make Manta a good guy.
Ngl was never a fan of that. Like eobard, Manta works better when he's an utterly petty monster with cool moments. Trying to make him a hero misunderstood the appeal.
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."I love how the movie didn't make Black Manta at all sympathetic, but did humanize him if that makes sense.
Like yeah his love for his dad is genuine, but they were pirates and they were doing a lot of bad things.
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.Like I don't mind the dad stuff. But Turning him into a good guy like eobard or Slade does not work.
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."Even if you want a good guy with that awesome look you can just use Manta's son.
So am I correct in hearing that Wonder Woman has adopted a little girl?
The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire.Manta being a good guy is more the personal obsession of one rather bad writer who's name escapes me; nobody else seems particularly willing to indulge it.
At last... Wonder Milf.
That was Chuck Brown. He at least seems to have given up making him a hero now as his appearance in the Waller Rising special he wrote had Manta back as a villain.
Though it also featured an appearance by his annoying creation Gallus Goat, who really should be killed off.
We're not at the point yet but it appears in the new Wonder Woman run Diana adopts Lizzie from her mother somehow.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."So they pulled that ball from Chuck Brown, huh?
I get the feeling that the instant Brown isn't working at DC anymore, some writer will drop an issue that opens with Manta shooting Gallus and burying her in a shallow grave.
It's funny cause the Waller Rising issue ends with the black heroes like Batwing and Vixen deciding to form a new super team comprised of all the black heros in DC, and Manta isn't included.
Though Goat was shown getting chummy with Dr Mist so she's still written as a decent person despite ya know working for Manta.
Something should really kill her off.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."That reminds me that Kite Man's real name is Chuck Brown, and yes it is an homage to Charlie Brown's kite-flying (Kite-Man first appeared in 1960, but didn't get a civilian name until his Who's Who entry in the '80's).
Cal Durham started out working for manta but quit and became mayor of Sub Diego. I could see her doing something like that if she realizes just how bad Manta is.
The Protomen enhanced my life.Charlie Brown debuted in 1955 iirc, although I don't know when the strip began doing the kite gag.
The Joker's seventies series actually had Joker kidnapping a Charles Schulz inspired cartoonist in one issue.
Interesting experiment in trying have one person write every part of a Crisis Crossover.
