Would you say it's a difference in how countries approach releasing comics?

Pretty much, yeah. But I do think adopting an approach like the UK or Japan could be more beneficial for Marvel and DC. Their trades already sell better than their floppies now, especially since they are sold in bookstores.

What about Diamond? I imagine they have enough influence to quash that.

Diamond Distribution only has huge influence over the Direct Market, i.e. comic book stores, which are already niche. By selling directly to bookstores, Marvel and DC can avoid Diamond.

But I don't see why Diamond wouldn't want more anthologies and trades — they ship those too. And comic book stores should survive within the market. I mean, it's a problem that Diamond has a monopoly, but I literally don't see a way out of that unless the courts directly intervene and break Diamond up. (They tried that — the courts declined.)

I want to add a Wonder Woman villain to the Classic Villain trope page but am not sure who I should use - Circe, Ares or Cheetah.

Don't know if that's such a good idea. As of Rebirth, all of them are Anti Villains to some extent. Hell, Ares arguably isn't a villain at all anymore.

In fairness, so are Luthor and Doom under some writers and they're still on the trope page of classic villain.

I hope someone writes a book about this one day. It is obvious that Didio, Lee, and Harras are not running a tight ship and haven't for years.

Was there any truth to that Brian Azzarello Suicide Squad rumor? Because I totally believe Hi-C was done as a lead in to that and the company had to shift gears when it didn't happen. That is my idle theory, anyway.

I have given up on trying to figure out what exactly happened in DC Rebirth, Doomsday Clock, Metal, and what the frack is going on now.

All I know is Superman sang into some kind of machine, a woman showed up and got iced by a naked blue god, said god rearranged everything in DC Comics so that they could crossover with Watchmen, Moore is pissed that his characters are being used as a scapegoat for all of the bad sh-t like the evil Batmen, Wally West is Schrodinger's Speedster, there are 3 other forces related to the Speed Force, Lex Luthor joined the Justice League, Batman defeated his evil doppelganger who is being held under the Batcave I think...

...and there's a storyline out there about the Joker turning into a politician that somehow makes infinitely more sense than anything else I've just described.

I know I should just pay more attention but every time I come back wondering what happened with Thomas Wayne Batman and the Button and Manhattan my head starts to hurt.

I think I could go for happier, sillier, more self-contained comics right about now.

Joker becoming a politician is (I think) Batman: White Knight and is a elseworlds. Good book tho.

Lex was on the justice league since Forever evil, Hell he has just gone back to being a full time villain for less then a year now

Metal was its own event leading to year of the villain

Wally's in prison for a crime he did in fact commit

Preview of Tales of the Dark Multiverse: Knightfall. So basically, this is What If? for DC and Tempus Fuginaut is the Watcher.

Also, another crisis is coming, apparently the worst one yet. Perhaps this is where the whole 5G thing is going to come in.

Why are there multiple S-Forces?

Whatever happened to the Dark Knights? Wasn't a wormhole or something opened up to a bunch of other "dark" universes based around characters who weren't Batman?

Does the Flashpoint universe still exist - what was the deal with Batman meeting his father?

Wally has returned to the regular universe? I thought he was trapped outside of it due to whatever Manhattan was doing?

Aren't there still 3 Jokers running around that Batman was looking into after sitting on the Metrion chair?
