I'm meh. First of all because Tony Jay is dead, so I don't see who would take up the mantle as Megabyte. Second because their attempt to bring it back as a webcomic was SPECTACULARLY bad. Like, Fanfic bad.
Lastly, well this is the third or so promise to bring ReBoot back to TV and well, the previous ones didn't yield anything.
Also they've not confirmed any of the original creators would return. Yeah, Rainmaker named one of its branches Mainframe, but that alone doesn't mean its the Mainframe we knew and loved. Ian Pearson, Gavin Blair and the other minds behind him have all left the company. And Rainmaker's recent offerings consists of Direct to DVD liscenced crap (Mostly in the form of a billion Barbie films).
I WANT Reboot to be back... But I want it more to be good than see its legacy continue as a piece of crap.

what's a reboot

man, the CGI has not aged well
"we have to get vaccines against hunger"Does CGI ever do? Also, they were the first to do a TV Show that way so...
To be clear, they're actually rebooting ReBoot, as opposed to re-airing all the old episodes?
This "faculty lot" you speak of sounds like a place of great power...i'm pretty excited. i wonder how many other shows from my childhood will be getting a revival...
All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.I have next to no confidence that the reboot of ReBoot will actually happen, let alone that it will be anything good. Keep in mind, the original was fun, but it was never actually really good. It was between Captain N good and Mighty Morphing Power Rangers good, which is to say, make sure you take off your nostalgia goggles.
Signatures are for lamers.I, for one, refuse to pass judgment for a (maybe possible) series that doesn't even have previews yet. Will it be good? Bad? Follow the plot of the original? Take the setting/premise and take it to new places with new characters? Who knows?
This "faculty lot" you speak of sounds like a place of great power...What did you watch? Seriously,I totally get this opnion if you've only the seen the first season or so, but after season one they began employing long-term story arcs and the series got genuinely good. There was solid villain characters, solid character development for the heros (hello Enzo Matrix), great world-building with a unique vernacular, and plenty of crap getting past the radar to enjoy as an adult.

"If I reach for the stars, you can't hold me back"I actually revisited this show a while back and I enjoyed the hell out of it - so I'm skeptical that reviving this series, especially after a failed web-comic based on it is the best idea...
There will likely be changes - and not just to the art-style, either, especially ones that will need to be made, to keep things... relevant. Sigh.
Even if I had different face, I AM STILL DISGRACED.I remember seeing it as a kid, but I don't remember much about it. What I do remember is the Duke Nukem rip-off character (Who I think was evil), a Haunted House Mission where they failed, the Green Kid growing up, and then a plot where there were two main guys (The Blue one) and the rest of them had to know which one was the real one. That, and Tony Jay as the Villain.
I'll certainly give this a chance, though. This might be awesome.
The "Duke Nukem ripoff" was probably grown-up Enzo Matrix (the green kid). I can't remember anyone else who fits the description.
This "faculty lot" you speak of sounds like a place of great power...I think he means the oneoff oneshot villain from one of the gamecubes.
Sounds cool I did like it when I was younger.
Batman Ninja more like Batman's Bizarre AdventureAll I really remember from the old show was the female villain (Hexadecimal I think), and that's probably because she sort of terrified me at first.
I also remember Megabyte somehow becoming Gigabyte at some point, but that may have been a temporary change.
I haven't seen any of the episodes set after the time skip/the kid grows up.
Toy Story trilogy.
Also, suprisingly, i'm not real excited about this like back in the days. Weird how feels change.
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceI was just thinking the other day about how the show could benefit from a reboot, the irony there is apparent every time we use the word. The CG hasn't aged well, especially the first two seasons, but the writing and the voice acting is still top notch. Looking back on the whole series there are a few things that didn't work well within the whole mythology, especially as the Net and the Web became available to the characters. I think it became a little too arc driven later on, while well written it didn't let us really enjoy the characters and the setting as much as the earlier seasons.
But "Talent Night" is just a laugh riot from beginning to end and the creativity and imagination in "Painted Windows" still holds up (the Principle Office becoming the Sistine Chapel is a standout). Season three was expertly paced via the strict four episode arcs and while season four was overall a disappointment, it still had some great moments (Megabytes return and effortless capture of the principle office is chilling).
What he said. Reboot was one of my favorite shows, and I think it has lots of potential to be remade. But of course it all depends on how they handle it.
Dude, I am so sad we no longer have the win of Tony Jay. So 5 bucks idiots are going to cry out Ruined Forever without bothering to lay up if whether certain voice actors are alive or not.
Also I look forward to this. I just hope to god this Reboot is actually good unlike others. I look forward to the Gamecubes featuring modern games. XD.
It all depends on who they get to replace him. It's like Garry Chalk and Peter Cullen. Cullen is more legendary for being the first Optimus Prime, but that doesn't negate the work Chalk did. They find a sufficiently excellent and respected voice actor and it won't matter.
I will agree that the new voice actor should make the role their own and not try a straight Tony Jay impersonation, those tend to be problematic. David Kaye comes to mind, with a mixture between his deep Megatron and calm Sesshomaru voices.

The GameCubes could contain GameCube games.
Not me, I see no reason why this show needs a reboot instead of a revival. It ended on a Cliffhanger and all. What, the CGI? It is not suppose to be realistic or anything, the "antiquated" look works here because it gives a stylist feel to computer world.
A main villain's voice actor is gone? That is sad but he is not needed. Megabyte's a trojan horse now so he won't be using his voice too much anyway. Finally, you can show reruns while making new episodes, getting the new comers up to speed and giving anyone who actually remembers reboot some nostalgia. Cartoon Network rose to prominence with reruns along with TNN and syphilis Sy Fy.
So...is any one else tentatively excited for Mainframe Entertainment's return to children's television and the come back of ReBoot? God I hope they keep Hexidecimal in there. And the computer speak.
Hell I'm just happy the company's back. They created some of the most memorable shows of my childhood!
