Basically alcohol is a suppressant, so being drunk causes your brain to start shutting off, starting with more superfluous aspects—tact, fine motor controls, the ability to realize that you're still knocking back beers like water...
Birthright: an original web novel about Dragons, the Burdens of Leadership, and Mangoes.Speaking of which, I'm not sure I like the idea of Pinkie Pie getting drunk. What if she makes another Generation 3 face? x_x
Princess Aurora is underrated, pass it on.What I don't understand is why anyone would deliberately get drunk.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayIt's amusing in certain social situations.
Fanfiction I hate.In an unusual coincidence, "Love" and "Tolerance" are both part of my faux-Elements of Harmony in an original setting I'm building.

Halper's Law: as the length of an online discussion of minority groups increases, the probability of "SJW" or variations being used = 1.Got buzzed, regaled my neighbors with repeated stories of, "I was such a little bitch, when I was little."

@Meta Four Naturally I won't use that poem when she comes. I'll just speak from the heart, in other words I'll write my own poems.
Edit: Nothing happened here.

Trans rights are human rights. TV Tropes is not a place for bigotry, cruelty, or dickishness, no matter who or their position.Quite. A lot of people use it as an emotional crutch.
Others like having it as a social lubricant. If you're nervous about talking to people or being around others, a couple of shots to numb your inhibitions can have you gabbing like a party animal.
This is also where a lot of the addictive element comes into play, because some people get so used to being able to ease their anxieties with it that they lose the ability to function without it. Coffee has a similar psychological effect.

My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.Being drunk sounds awful to someone like me. Not being in control of myself is a massive fear of mine. One of the many reasons I don't drink.
For my own part, I happen to just enjoy the taste of alcohol and the drunkness is kind of an acceptable side-effect for me. I rarely drink enough in one sitting to get more than buzzed, though—it's fairly difficult for me too, considering I'm quite large. There's definitely an addictive element I can feel creeping around the edges though, so I'm careful about it.
And, the looseness of the buzz can be helpful with writing, I've found. At this point my biggest problem is that I'm often second-guessing my own work, so doing something to loosen myself up and get myself to just write is useful. It obviously requires editing after the fact and I'm actively working on loosening myself up for writing without a performance enhancer, as it were, but it's a useful side effect of something I enjoy anyways.

because it's fun to them, they don't even remember much afterwards!
Plus there's the escapism that goes with blind drunk, helps them forgot about whatever is going in life.
New theme music also a boxSo, when do you think you'll get started?

Hey. So regarding my post from before, is anyone here against reordering the Characters page so that it looks like this? We're all in agreement that Starlight should be added to the Main Characters section and that this is the best way to format it?
If you haven't, it doesn't really matter. I didn't read the second but participated in the third, resulting in a scene where I referred to a Zebra character as a Pony because I didn't realize they were a Zebra.
And in the... fifth? There was a character in the chapter before mine referred to as 'Skylark', and I assumed it was an actual bird, resulting in a chain of the Skylark switching back and forth between bird and pony randomly throughout the story.
Birthright: an original web novel about Dragons, the Burdens of Leadership, and Mangoes.that was thoroughly amusing
"There's not a girl alive who wouldn't be happy being called cute." ~Tamamo-no-MaeMmm? No, I haven't.
I was planning on sitting this out, actually. I'm notoriously unreliable when it comes to collaborative activities like this because I have the attention span of a goldfish, plus I'm new to fanfiction with all the crappiness of writing that entails. It's hard enough just getting my own work written.
I've just been trying to weigh in with ideas I had that might help.

My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.Well whatever we decide, I'm in. I had a blast with the last two.
This song needs more love. There was a character in the chapter before mine referred to as 'Skylark', and I assumed it was an actual bird, resulting in a chain of the Skylark switching back and forth between bird and pony randomly throughout the story.
I had read and participated in every round robin, but I forgot completely about Colt Skylark, and hence also assumed they were a bird.

Don't worry, your writing doesn't have to be any good. Heck, there was one person who participated in the first round robin who barely spoke English.

Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayGiving birth to one of the most consistent running gags of the series.
Birthright: an original web novel about Dragons, the Burdens of Leadership, and Mangoes.Technically, that was started in the chapter that followed.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayWell, yes, but given that it was directly inspired by the poor English I tend to think of that chapter as having been the source of it.

And are incapable of keeping thoughts to themselves. Or resisting the urge to act on whatever impulse comes their way. The part of your brain that goes, "Maaaaaaaybe not a good idea" shuts right the f*ck down.
And like I said on the last page, there's a time-delay between telling your body to move and it actually following through on what you told it to do. The more drunk you are, the worse it gets. It's the reason I absolutely cannot stand being drunk.
