Man, I still remember the clusterfuck around Cadence's introduction.
Dude, there was an orgy?
Your momma's so dumb she thinks oral sex means talking dirty.I'm reviewing the Equesteria Girls comics and I'm kinda confused about the first Equesteria Girls comic. The first story in the comic is about Sunset Shimmer and how she got to the Equesteria Girls universe. Here's the problem: I remember reading on the YMMV page of the My Little Pony: IDW comics that this comic was supposed to be published (or was written before the movie was published) before the movie proper was released. However, I looked up the release dates for both the movie and the comic and they're pretty different.
The Movie: June 15, 2013 (Los Angeles Film Festival), June 16, 2013 (United States and Canada). The Comic: July 18–21, 2013 (San Diego Comic-Con), October 30, 2013 (United States and Canada).
I'm trying to as that just how much did the writers of the bloody comic know about the movie itself while writing it or is there any explanation for why a prequel comic meant to be published before the movie would be published AFTER the movie?

Trans rights are human rights. TV Tropes is not a place for bigotry, cruelty, or dickishness, no matter who or their position.I just saw something that would make Maud happy.
On one of the crosswalk signals I use during my bike ride, there was a white rock sitting on top of it, with the words "You rock!" painted on it in gold and a heart symbol.
I like to keep my audience riveted.Just for Sidekicks and Spike at Your Service did not do wonders for my brother's rapidly declining opinion of Spike.
This song needs more love.At least "Spike at Your Service" had Twilight being too absorbed in her book to notice Spike leaving her, and also Spike being crushed by a boulder. XD
I like to keep my audience riveted. My favorite part of Spike At Your Service is AJ successfully breaking Twilight out of her reading coma by using her OCD against her. Especially since it takes her, like, half a second to come up with the idea.
She was a fun character back when she was allowed to interact with characters outside of Rarity and the Apple Family.

My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.Anyway, your brother might change his mind when he sees "Gauntlet of Fire." ;)
I like to keep my audience riveted.Post of the Day #1931
Spike's one of my favorite characters, I'm just super-annoyed that he very rarely ever gets a competently written episode that doesn't involve short-term Character Derailment or some big plot hole. Spike At Your Service, for instance, has him swearing by a Dragon Code that he wrote himself.
You know, while I do understand people being annoyed by Spike's 'dragon code', I never considered it a big issue. After all, we've had episodes that deal directly with Spike's loose connection to his heritage, his anxiety over it, and his attempts to connect more firmly with it.
Gauntlet of Fire does demonstrate that Dragons appear to have some general law and code. Even with Spike's acceptance of his dominant Pony culture, I can still easily imagine him wanting to connect to his heritage. Likewise, I can very easily imagine him reading the few scraps of information on Dragon culture they have, and extrapolating that... poorly.
Bottom line Spike is a kid who feels out of place and wants to connect to his people, but doesn't have a real means of doing that, and I think some stuff probably got lost in translation for him.
Birthright: an original web novel about Dragons, the Burdens of Leadership, and Mangoes.Reminds me of how Worf had a sort of idealized version of Klingon honor he followed based on what he knew of his culture, while Klingons who were actually raised in that culture were much more prone to being assholes.
Damn, I think I just hit peak nerd right there.
Nah, Spike would have to get the shit kicked out of him constantly first in order to be compared to Worf.

Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayPost of the Day #1932
Must...Complete...Mane 6...Collection... But serious I plan on getting the micro tomorrow.
That Post of the Day is almost hypnotic.
I feel a sudden desire to buy Mane Six micros.
My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.And now we get to the truth of it. Story's posts of the day have in fact been a five year long con to sell mane six micros.
Well joke's on you story, I'm too broke to be buying micros.
Curses! Foiled again. Now I shall disappear to fight another episode.
P.S. I can't believe it's actually been 5 years.

Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayYeah, Spike's episodes tend to be really uneven. Especially since a lot of episodes that aren't about him tend to make him the straight man, so he comes across as competent whenever things aren't focusing on him. Maybe he just gets meta-performance anxiety or something.
Reaction Image RepositoryI like how DWK put it: the common sense switch is either in the Twilight or the Spike position in any given episode.
My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.And then in Triple Threat it was set on neither of them.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?I like how I introduce you to that show and now you're always referencing it.
Do Viking and, er, wassername, Birdy? Do they watch it?
The episode made the mistake of introducing Starlight to the mix,and then the switch wasn't sure what the fuck to do.
