Okay I played the game and honestly I'm quite invested in it. It's not the same old Dynasty Warriors, but it's not the worst. Honestly, this kept me going better than DW6.
In addition... is it just me or I feel like I want to purge those comments on 'history' 'history' 'history'. Or as some people coined it, 'Muh history' people. Especially the shitting on Shu.
It's becoming a personal trigger that whenever I see people just redirect the Zhang Fei-Xiahou Ji stuffs into "But in history, one is a rape victim!"... I just want to yell... I mean, WE GET IT ALREADY, NOW WILL YOU PLEASE LEARN TO SEPARATE FICTION AND HISTORY!?

Started playing the game a few days ago. I will say it is odd having only the three main leaders as playable characters at the start is an odd choice, but not terrible.
I like open world aspect since it really works for some battles that don't need to be separate maps. The Yellow Turban situation and Dong Zhou battle being one open world situation each was really cool since it felt like a large scale battle.
While I have not gotten to that point I feel like for Chi Bi it is not going to work as well since I feel like that battle needs it's own separate from the map area.
I already miss the whole ability to change history and the outcome of a battle in the last game. It would have been great to have the opportunity to kill Dong Zhou in the assassination attempt or potentially have the chance to come out the winner with Wei during Chi Bi.
The open world aspect is probably going to work a lot better with Empires. Especially since it would definitely require a wise movement of troops and knowing when to fight and when to defend.
"When I offered to make Norea my third back-up girlfriend she just glared at me and started throwing things at me.." Renee CostaYeah, the open world is ripe for hypothetical situations. Lots of cool parts of the map where nothing historical happens, so you only ever visit those parts by exploring by yourself.
While the Yellow Turban magics are pretty cool, I think the game gives a very poor first impression due to the drabness of the area (one of the ugliest zones in the game, IMO) and the plainness of the combat at the start (weak weapons, no orbs). Really hope they can work on that if they try open world again with DW 10.
this place needs me hereThe one 'complain' I can have about Open World seems to boil down to "Uh, Koei, do you want to make 'China Tour' game, or do you want to make a 'Hack and Slash' game?" Granted, the Hack and Slash thing were still existent and good, but I almost see no point in visiting scenic area...
Except as extra waypoints.

Hey, I know that this is probably not about the game, but if anyone feels like the site might have been too much bashing Shu, influenced with this tumblr well, maybe I'm too late but now I realized that it isn't a good source for history, because he let his own bias obstruct his otherwise intelligent posts, as stated by the more neutral scholars
I might want to sweep around the site and see how much I can salvage from that kind of biased info.
Am I sensing that Koei will finally do the dream game?
Read carefully, "Prominent overseas IP".

GTA warriors.
Or DC Warriors.
Marvel vs DC warriors
"When I offered to make Norea my third back-up girlfriend she just glared at me and started throwing things at me.." Renee CostaThat would actually hype me the fuck up
"Have a good day. Have a good week. Have a good month. Have a good year. Have a good life." ~CiviaI'm about to come into possession of a PS 3 (Yes, 3. I don't have that much money.) and, looking for some good single-player games, came across this series. Where would a good entry point be for someone new to the franchise?
♭What.Dynasty Warriors 7, hands down. It does not have the replayablity of 3, 4, 5 or 8 but it focuses wholeheartedly on telling the story and characters.

Super Smash Warriors!
But actually, yeah, with the Star Wars/40K and Marvel/DC suggestions, I'll say that a Warriors game that's an effort to blend two specific, distinct properties would be more interesting to me than a mega-crossover.
7 has the best story, but I always liked 8's thing of giving every character a unique weapon.
Heart of Stone8 also had the hypothetical routes for the kingdoms.
"When I offered to make Norea my third back-up girlfriend she just glared at me and started throwing things at me.." Renee CostaFor getting into the series 7's story sells it better. 8 Complete is what you get after and dive into its modes and replayablity.
3:35 is just goddamn Gate of Babylon
"Have a good day. Have a good week. Have a good month. Have a good year. Have a good life." ~CiviaI recently downloaded Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends on Switch, and when I started up the game for the first time, I got a message saying that Warriors Orochi 4 save data was detected and that I had unlocked some costumes, which isn't surprising because the save data thing was already detailed in the Switch port's announcement.
... and then I get some more messages saying that I could unlock more costumes if I also had save data for Dynasty Warriors 8: Empires, Samurai Warriors: Spirit of Sanada, and Warriors Orochi 3: Ultimate. While those three games technically were ported to the Switch too last year, they were Japan-only releases, and mind you, I got the save data messages in the western release of DW8:XL on Switch.
I really hope that's a sign that those three Japan-only Switch ports are eventually getting a western release too, if only so I can replay Warriors Orochi 3 again on Switch and finally get to experience the Ultimate content (right now I'm limited to just the Hyper version on Wii U).
This is not the greatest signature in the world, no... this is just a tribute. You think the Gate of Babylon Perseus / Loki gets is ridiculous, you should see Odin - or as I like to call him "Dark Lord Broken". He gets a 15 second time stop move that has a three second recharge, which is just ridiculous - on top of his damage being through the roof.
He plays like a character backed up by a Gameshark.
I did note that Loki said that "all of my Sacred Relics are fakes", meaning he pulled a Shirou Emiya on it.
Sign on for this After The End Fantasy RP.Well i cant say anyone expected this!
Persona is and Koei are making a Mosuo game!
Alternatively, they can trust one of the biggest Dynasty Warriors fans in the world when he says the game has issues.
