So it seems that Zootopia has just cleared the $800 million mark, making it the third highest-grossing Disney movie after Frozen and The Lion King. And it hasn't even hit Japan yet. Nice!
I'd love to see it beat Frozen. Not 100% sure if it'll actually happen, but it has a good chance considering it's broader appeal and (arguably) more interesting premise.
My fanfiction.net account, for those brave enough.Add one more peculiarity to the list: that application to Zootopia's Police Department has nothing about a mailing address, or residence, or e-mail, or any contact information whatsoever. How exactly is Z P D 's personnel department going to let Nick know one way or the other whether he qualifies? Do they have a furry Professor X that handles telepathic messaging? Track him down by scent? The Force? (Whoa, both Judy and Nick are force-sensitive, awesome!) Oh, and Clawhauser's love of frosted doughnuts? Peculiar, in that felines cannot taste sweetness; they lack two key enzymes that would bond to glucose / fructose to trigger the "sweet" sensation in taste buds.
I think I saw a fish market while Judy is passing through Tundratown. Tuna, cod, haddock and salmon to feed a hungry world. Really, you expect to feed polar bears, largest of the ursines, with thousands of bugs per meal per day? Times however many bears there are, on top of all the other carnivores and omnivores in Zootopia? You'd need insects as numerous as oxygen molecules in the atmosphere to feed everyone!
But, there's Bellisario's Maxim, and this is a Disney feature-length cartoon, after all.
I think it's confirmed that edible fish are a thing too. And I think there's at least one question on that application that is off-screen. That, or Judy just gave him the first page to see if he was interested. It seemed too short to be the whole thing regardless.
The donut thing...yeah, that one's reaching a bit.
They can walk on two legs now. I'm sure his tastebuds evolved too. Or those donuts wouldn't taste the same to humans.
Fun fact: cheetahs have one of the roughest tongues in the animal kingdom. They can literally lick the meat off of bones. It's almost like sandpaper.
Being licked by Clawhauser would be frightening on multiple levels.

Unless we have word otherwise, the way things were laid out gives me reason to think it's just mammals that are sentient, it could mean that birds, lizards, and reptiles are possible food sources as well.
...... you mean Japan's been crazy over Zootopia and it hasn't even been released their yet!??!
I had one cat who loved muffins and pop tarts, and another we need to keep away from angel food cake, so the donut thing didn't seem strange or surprising at all to me.
I recall a cat that liked pumpkin. Ate half a jack o'lantern once. Its face looked even more terrifying after that.
Ooh, that's unsettling. Watch out for Clawhauser◊.

Could this be the start of something?◊
Zootopia finally made it to Kingdom Hearts, just not the way we expected it to be. But who knows if we'll get more than this?

My DA account... I draw stuff sometimes! It looks like the tongue itself has teeth. O.o
I would love it if the film became more successful than Frozen. We'll have to wait and see on that.
Lol! Zootopia being labeled as propaganda by Chinese professorXP

okayyyyyyyyyy.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersYesss, those dangerous foreign predators are always the true enemies. There is no need to suspect ANY of your friendly politicians of attacking their loyal citizens in grabs for power! Especially not in China!
I can't draw worth s***, so I can't do this myself, but does anyone else kinda want a Zootopia drawing with Nick as Travis Bickle, and Judy as Iris from Taxi Driver?
Shoo her in, Effie darling, shoo her in.You can tell a propaganda theory is crazy when you can't even tell what the theory is supposed to be. Though I admit, the thing that stuck out to me most in that article is that the movie is apparently called "Crazy Animal City" in China.
I mean...it's fitting.
I think - but I can't say with any certainty - that they're actually trying to make Zootopia an economic metaphor, with 'predators' representing the 'evil' bourgeoisie and 'prey' representing the innocent and helpless 'proletariat' that Communism exists to protect against the unfairness of capitalism, and their problem with Zootopia is that is says that "bourgeoisie are people, too".
But I'm just guessing here, honestly.

You're on!
After I finish this comic this weekend, which is a dig on F.A.N.G and his "Predator and Prey" storyline, that is.
