I'mma bandwagon because those ideas sound good.

The remnants of the PPDC immediately come to a conclusion; if we're gonna win this war we need bigger guns. A flurry of orders hit volunteer workers and a plan is ironed out to increase research production and immediately begin drafting up new offensive countermeasures.

The labs are immediately expanded with new machinery brought in from abandoned buildings on the outskirts of the city. Nobody knows who owns them now, but it's clear who needs them.

Before everything can be even powered on, though, scientists begin working on ways to upgrade current Jaeger-based weaponry with incediary ammo. (Roll: 3) Unfortunately, attempts to create a flat upgrade system fail. However, the simplicity of merely upscaling current incendiary rounds does mean that the revolver cannon can be loaded with cauterizing shells that will cause less damage starting next week.

Oddly, the more daunting task of designing railgun-based defenses makes more headway (Roll: 7) and a new blueprint is made available to the Pan-Pacific Defense Corps command roster.

I'm assuming we ought to send some sort of scouts to analyze the Kaiju and get a better feel for what we're dealing with.. Some of the attack choppers, maybe?

Plan: Gather Info

• Scan it
• Send out Helicopters to get visual confirmation
• Prep Wild Ronin and helicarriers for launch.
• If its in the water send out patrol boats but stress they should keep their distance

Also, how fast are the boats? And the attack copters for that matter? And the heliarriers?

Fast enough. They'll be able to engage the Kaiju before it makes landfall if that's the plan.

I'm on board with that idea.

I suggest the helicopters try to provoke it to see if we can get it to reveal its abilities.

We should research attack drones at some point for this purpose so maybe its best to just have the helicopters scout and get disposable attack drones later.

If it looks like it won't be able to attack at range we can try to plink it with the helicopters.

Sounds good. Also, I've got to wonder have you told the dude running Cherno Alpha vs the World about us? Since you are participating in both?

That's a good idea but we need to instruct the helicopter pilots to be more careful than the jet pilots from the opening of the movie who were the opposite of careful.

Yeah, best stick to land combat for now. Most kaiju seem to have the advantage when it comes to water combat.

And the boats for scouting.

A transport chopper squadron prepares the rigging for Wild Ronin as the sensors blare and the pilots (Anne Onimous and Jenny Rick, notable only for their lack of notability) make their way into the cockpit. Wild Ronin waits patiently in the shatterdome, ready for its turn to strike.

Meanwhile a flight of attack choppers soars over Chiba province and heads towards the Kaiju. Instructed to keep their distance, the pilots still get close enough for visual contact. One of the co-pilot's voices squawks over the short-range radio relayed through listening posts; the only method of communication currently possible besides yelling really loudly.

"It's hard to make out from beneath the waves but... I think it's humanoid. Squat though. Almost as wide as it is tall. It doesn't seem to notice us."

The choppers hover at a distance as the Kaiju continues towards land, making a decent clip. It's halfway to the beach.

Plan: Get the Party started

• Launch Wild Ronin 300 meters up the beach from the shoreline and withdraw the helicarriers.
• Have patrol boats and helicopters follow the kaiju closely but do not engage till it emerges from the water.
• When kaiju emerges from water launch a single volley of attacks from the boats and then have them hightail it out of there.
• Copters then fire at the kaiju while Wild Ronin charges in.

I think Ronin ought to go towards the Kaiju as opposed to having it lured to her. It makes more sense to keep that thing as far away from the shoreline as plausible.

Good point. I'll edit. Well, not the keeping away from the shoreline thing. At least not entirely.

Humanoid sounds like it won't have a massive advantage in water so I'd agree with fighting it just off the coast. We should fire 3 rounds rapid from the revolver as soon as it's in range. Preferably have the choppers and boats fire at the same time, maybe have the boats in between Wild Ronin and the coast so we can keep them in the fight and relatively safe.

I forgot about the gun.

Yeah switching my vote to Badwolf's plan.
