Choose your actions! They will be taken when Consensus is made. And then... Kaiju time.
Basic actions are:
Repair a Jaeger
Research new equipment. A roll will be taken to determine level of success. You might not get exactly what you want, especially if you try and research more esoteric weaponry with a level 1 lab, but a high roll will always get you SOMETHING.
Build stuff! You currently have blueprints for:
- AKV-1 Tanks: 300 per squad
- Rocket Jeeps: 150 per squad
- Attack choppers: 350 per squad
- Ninja attack drones: 250 per squad
- Transport choppers: 300 per squad
- MARC: 100
- AKPT Boats: 200 per squad
- Railgun Bunker: 500
- Railgun Bunker Enhanced Powercell: 250
- Jaeger frame: 20000
- Revolver Cannon: 500
- Revolver Holster: 200
- Cryo Bayonet 300
- Sturdy Cryo Bayonet 500
- Cryo Katar 800
- Dragon's Wrath Plasma Cannon: 1250
- Hiryu Plasma Mortar: 1500
- Wild Tekko: 500
- Bushi Guard: 750
- Ronin Kogake: 1000
- Project Eraser Rigging 2000
Upgrade Stuff! Upgrading a Jaeger is more expensive the stronger it gets. Upgrading a city stat takes 1000 until the stat reaches 5, at which point upgrades are 2500 thereafter.
“Other” is ALWAYS an option if you can think of something clever.
Basic map until I make something better.◊

- Upgrade Labs
- Upgrade Scanners
- Research Railguns

Click Click Boom BoomI'd vote first for a priority on researching a way that cannon to fire cauterising ammo to reduce Kaiju Blue spread.
You've missed out resource cost for upgrading the city, but if we can afford it I'd get upgrades to scanners and research asap so we can get more details on incoming Kaiju and we're more likely to get useful stuff.
Tealove is best pony.Pony Fanon IndexThis really belongs in Forum RP's.
Fix'd XD
Yeah I'll probably miss things here and there. I'm trying not to write a whole rulebook into the forum.
-shrug- It wasn't planned as a roleplay exactly, but it can go wherever.
Hmmm so we can only upgrade scanners OR labs at the moment.
I'd say upgrade labs first. Then upgrade scanners next turn.
So...
Plan: Let's get this party started
- Upgrade Labs
- Research Cauterizing ammunition for revolver cannon
- Research railguns
I'm definitely in favor of the cauterizing ammo research idea, and of upgrading the lab.
EDIT: And yeah, railguns, why the heck not?

"We're home, Chewie."Then I'd.
- Upgrade Labs, we'd be out of resources but it's better to get it sooner than later.
- Research cauterising ammo.
- Do we want stationary Railguns or ones that could be mounted on a Jaeger?
Railguns in general. If you get the basic stuff down, you can upsize or downsize or what have you without too much of an issue. Well, at least that's what I would say. Shirow has the final word on the matter.

Click Click Boom BoomI'm good with either, but mounting them on the Jaeger sounds better for taking the fight directly to the Kaiju.
"We're home, Chewie."You could try researching "Railgun technology" but something that general would give pretty random results at the whims of the dice.
Actually, railguns as defensive emplacements make the most sense given the fact that railguns would have pretty extreme range.
So, railguns as defense first then maybe attaching them to a Jaeger.
Ok, so we should narrow it down to stationary railgun emplacements. Would that make the results less random?

Click Click Boom BoomYeah, didn't really take range into account. Gonna go with Kosjurake on mounted defense railguns.
"We're home, Chewie."We'll probably have a weight limit on a Jaeger and a railgun would probably be heavy. On the other hand we'd have to build a lot more stationary ones to be able to fire in any direction, or build them high up I guess, and we'd probably go through a fair few and need to replace them when multiple Kaiju show up.
On another note, will there be a way to get more actions per turn in this variant?
edited 1st Aug '13 1:25:09 PM by Badwolfwho
Tealove is best pony.Pony Fanon IndexIf its stationary though we can't take them with us if we decide to go monster hunting later on.
We can make them non-stationary later. And going hunting has the potential to backfire big time if we only have one Jaeger.
Click Click Boom BoomThere is a weight limit. The Revolver Cannon takes up 1, and your power level gives you 3.
And yes. Currently tokyo is half deserted. Once more people begin coming into the city, the population will get you more turns and resources per week.
Sure, although they're currently mostly for show.
edited 1st Aug '13 1:28:39 PM by ShirowShirow
Oh yeah, do we have the bayonets on the cannon like we do in the picture for the Jaeger or not?
Click Click Boom BoomAs for my votes
- Upgrade Sensors
- Research Cauterizing Ammo for Revolver
- Search for survivors/stuff in surrounding areas
edited 1st Aug '13 1:37:56 PM by lordnyx
We can't afford to upgrade both the sensors and labs in the same turn.
Ooh maybe we should try and research better blades. Electrified to get another element with the cauterising bullets?
Tealove is best pony.Pony Fanon IndexWe only have enough resources to upgrade one thing at the moment. If I read right.
Maybe. But I say railguns for now. Maybe electrical upgrades later for the blades. Stands to reason with railgun tech we'd be better at electrical tech in general.

Click Click Boom BoomYeah, I'm just gonna vote
- Research cauterizing ammo
- Research stationary railguns
- Upgrade labs
So is it...
- Upgrade Labs
- Research Cauterizing Cannon ammo
- Research stationary railguns
Then? Do we have consensus?
It all happened so fast. Before a resistance movement could be organized, something hit us. An unidentifiable energy pulse knocked out communications. Worldwide. Suddenly every city, town and hamlet in the world was as isolated as they were in the middle ages. And then the Kaiju burst forth from new breaches all over the Pacific. Stomping towards population centers, they unleashed hell on earth.
Luckily one Jaeger is still operational. A thousand-ton titan of iron armor and hydraulic muscle. WILD RONIN◊ stands at the PPDC headquarters in Tokyo bay, ready to defend the people who are left from the onslaught of alien monsters.
You are one of the commanders of the hastily scrabbled together defense force. You must decide how Tokyo will act, as for all you know you’re all that’s left of humanity. You must make the Kaiju pay. You must build your Arsenal. You must hold the line.

This is a co-operative wargame based on Pacific Rim
ripped off ofinspired by Cherno Alpha Versus The World from another forum. The setup is the same: We are defending an Isolated coastal city from weekly Kaiju sieges. And you need to hold out as long as you can. Every week is divided into preparation and combat; first the players come to a conclusion on which actions such as building more weapons or researching new technologies to take before a red alert is sounded and you need to deploy your forces into combat against giant alien monsters. Once an action is decided, it is taken and then combat continues until all threats are dealt with. The game will be "Rules lite" but will have enough crunch and dice rolls to make sure everyone's on the same page. This is not a roleplay, but if anyone wants to add some extra flavor they are more than welcome.
Please note that Hollywood Science is in effect. Math is not your friend.
Anyone is free to join in at any time!
