MI 3 was kinda bleh tho.

Also at least they acknowledge Cruise's good roles at the end. (Especially Collateral. I love that movie)

[up][up]it has Phillip Seymour Hoffman and one of the best running scenes in any movie though

Doug left out the part that the reason the henchman disguised as Hunt couldn't speak was because Hunt gagged him under the mask.

Damn it, Doug! I'm still trying to boycott you, and you go and review "Bartok the Magnificent"? (grumble, grumble).

I saw this film once when it first came out, and I honestly don't remember the animation really looking as good as what's presented in the clips in Doug's review.

The prequel joke may fall under Accidentally-Correct Writing, since Don and Gary have claimed that "Magnificent" does in fact take place before "Anastasia", although it seems to be only because the legend of Baba Yaga predates the real Anastasia Romanov. (shrugs).

I personally always put "Magnificent" in the same category as films like 'Shock Treatment'. Not a sequel, or a prequel, just an equal.

If I had a nickel for every film where Emma Stone falls off a balcony... I'd only have two nickels, but weird that there's two of them.

This week, Nostalgia Critic takes a look at Sonic the Hedgehog: The Movie.

After the last week's "meh" episode, this was a fun review. Best jokes:

  • "I'm required to say...'before DeviantArt'?"
  • "I'm not a scientist! I can't understand this technical jargon!"
  • "Well, we didn't learn jack shit."

Just a person. He/him.

I lost it at the Robotnik-faced explosion. [lol]

But yeah… weird sexual jokes between Sonic characters and a literal catgirl are about what you expect from Japan.

Funnily, the exact same "Sonic Sez" bit was used by a French youtuber not so long ago… I guess it must be a meme I wasn't aware of. X)

Hey, he mentioned Adventures Of Sonic The Hedgehog and didn't say anything bad about it! That's good enough for me. I do wish he said how it ranked compared to the other Sonic cartoons. Yes, this is another thing he reviewed that he said he wouldn't.

I kept going to cons and just missing meeting Doug Walker. I don't want to spend money on someone who has done questionable things. I went to Momo Con in Atlanta and waved at Rob Walker. He just looked annoyed at me. At least his acknowledged I exist!

[up] That seems really unfair. Personally, if someone waves at me, I'd probably look annoyed because my reaction would be "do I know this person?"

Maybe he was just tired and that's why he ended up looking annoyed? I've heard these cons can be rather tiring.

He's an imperfect human being. You expect him to go to a con and smile at literally every single person and their dog who's on the premises??

When you go to a con to promote yourself and interact with your fans, I think a base level of polite interest and positive demeanor is not too much to ask. At a very minimum, reserve a smile for fans waving at you. Its not THAT hard to do, and it makes your fans feel appreciated.

Was this an incident, or was he like that through the whole con?

[up][up][up] He was with Doug and they were talking to a bunch of fans in line. The problem was that not only did you have to pay money to see them, but they were so popular at this con, they simply didn't have time to talk to everyone in line.

The first time I went to a Con, I was at least in the same room as Doug, but I didn't know when he would be available. Obviously, I couldn't just go and randomly talk to him. I made sure to know when he'd be available at the next one I went to, but like I said, he unfortunately was too busy to see everyone.

Do they even go to cons anymore? I've been monitoring Doug's Facebook profile for a long time now. I don't think Rob's Facebook profile even exists anymore. As you might have guessed, ever since the mass exodus at Channel Awesome, I haven't seen any post saying what cons Doug will be at. Are they just afraid someone will bring up the exodus?

Uh, wow. I had no idea so many people would respond to this post. It was pretty devastating that I missed him twice. I had to drive five or six hours to those cons too. Well, at least I got to meet Jim Cummings at that second con. Wow, you guys are awesome!

[up] Doug and Rob (along with their dad and Malcolm and Tamara) were at ConnectiCon last month, though oddly, CA had not promoted their appearance beforehand in any way. No mention on Twitter, Doug's Facebook, etc. As for CTC, apparently almost no one touched the subject at the con.

They indeed were at Connecticon, I attended a panel they were in. So it would make sense that they are going to cons again.

Unfortunately, the way i found out was through the con's email newsletter. So unless CA advertised it on their own platforms in a small way, the only other strong way you would've found it out was if you had already ordered a con badge.

I imagine they do not want to attract too much attention to themselves at the moment. My guess is that they are hoping just showing up at the con unannounced will be enough for them.

Doom.

Okay, this is really bugging me. By the way Doug and Rob wrote this review you'd think they expected 90 minutes of ONLY the game, like just 90 minutes of a gamer recording a playthrough of the game! News flash: a movie needs pacing with quiet moments to balance out the action, some grounding in reality, and suspenseful elements. If they had done it the way Doug and Rob expected, the movie would be worse. Hell, maybe Doom isn't a good choice to make into a movie! Maybe the movie would've been excellent if it wasn't called Doom, and if it were just an original story. And if that were true, this review wouldn't exist, because it would be GOOD! Am I stupid? Are Doug and Rob at their lowest point of critiquing here!?

I dunno, I still think Sailor moon and that Simpson video game (sorry, forgot the name) were their lowest point in reviewing.

I'm not crazy, just creatively different.
