Not getting into this debate.
However will say not all media caters to your specific political beliefs.
GIVE ME YOUR FACEI know that, but you do see it when one side it's the overwhelming representation and rarely the other side does. Also there is the fact that with Hollywood it is in a bubble where certain views are brought up more than others, especially intertwined views that can be handled gracefully or with a great slump.
Except no.
Artists will engage in whatever ideas they like.
If they have a "liberal bias" simply deal with it personally.
GIVE ME YOUR FACEAnd people do deal with it personally by calling them out. That's what popular feedback is.
But what are they being called out on?
Demanding bodily autonomy?
Not all criticism is valid criticism.
GIVE ME YOUR FACE@OverwroughtDoeling First of all, I'd like to say that I'm not a conservative and I've never posted on this thread before — I do look at it frequently, so as to expose myself to viewpoints other than those presented in OTC. I'm only popping in to respond to this post I saw, because I think it deserves rebuttal.
First of all, the very definition of conservatism is "not being willing to change the status quo". Yes, it is possible for conservatives to want to change the status quo, but only to revert to a previous status quo. (For example, Trump challenging the status quo established by the Obama administration, and reinstituting pre-Obama policies.) Thus, I think it's hypocritical for you to accuse liberals of enforcing the status quo, considering that what you want is for Hollywood to revert to a previous, more conservative status quo, in which case you would likely criticize liberals who would be "willing to challenge the status quo".
This is just blatant fearmongering. The characterization of the opposing political side as "They hate us and want to dehumanize us!" is just an excuse to foster hatred and dehumanization of said opposing political side.
Thank you for your time, sorry for intruding.

Trimming the hedges, one trope at a time. Both sides are guilty of fear-mongering and dehumanizing. And honestly, all of that has turned me off greatly from politics. It’s all name-calling and mud-slinging. No one wants to work with each other anymore. And let’s face it, Trump only cares about himself and not the good of the country. Now I’m not a Biden backer (something else I hate is assuming those who don’t like one candidate then they assume you like the other. But that’s another topic), but I really do hope he does the country good
Yeah, if there was anything we've learned over the past administration, we shouldn't let paranoia and fear override our ability to work together, and I hope this can patch things up a little bit.
It's been 3000 years…However, I have this sinking feeling the political satire is going to be dialed down like in the Obama years, due to their being a president in with their values and the fact that Harris is his vice president. Unless there is someone out there that is willing to still be as biting of a satirist under Biden like they did with Trump.
One thing I really wish people would focus back on is dealing with China. And I have seen many nations fold under them. And it's fear that Biden will talk, but will fold. And asshole companies like Nike and Coke get away with working through labor camps.

I’m working on a project. Even though the Fossil isn’t in it, I am going to mock the mindset of certain activist groups from time to time.
I can't wait to see it.
@China - It's not Biden I'm afraid of. If he's smart (or his people are) - they'll remember what Clinton did. Contain China and at least give them way out to cool things down. Clinton thought that the "Hole in the Flag Revolutions" would somehow spread to North Korea. That didn't happen and we're still paying the price for his misstep. He didn't make this mistake with China. He and George W. Bush just didn't pay attention to their military build up.
Biden (or more likely his SECDEF) will make sure that the CCP behaves.
It's Harris I'm worried about. She's a Drug War era prosecutor and still thinks like one.
There is a nasty rumor that went around during Clinton's intervention in the Kosovo Conflict, some say it was during the The Yugoslav Wars: during a meeting with the National Security Council, Madeline Albright wanted Clinton to have a U-2 fly really slow around Serbia. The Serbs would shoot it down and thus provide a cause for intervention. Colin Powell went ballistic when she said this - it's risking an American pilot, millions of dollars of American property and a real dick move. Supposedly she kept at it until Clinton talked her down. Supposedly she also said "What's the use of all this military power if you're not going to use it?"
Trump was a flaming moron but he listened to his people. Obama was more interested in being a celebrity President than actually executing the duties of the office - but he trusted his people and selected them for the ability to do his jobnote .
Harris is a hothead and has a big enough ego that if she's president she'll get an administration that won't "speak truth to power" - she'll fill it with yes-men.
Hopefully Biden (or his people) will be able to talk some sense into her. Lloyd Austin sounds like a good pick for SECDEF but, eh I think he was picked to be Biden's "Mad Dog"note .
We'll see who Biden's Secretary Of State is going to be. That person needs to stand up to Biden and Harris.
All night at the computer, cuz people ain't that great. I keep to myself so I won't be on The First 48Seriously, China will be a threat if we allow them to continue.
Do you think the Republican Party has just committed political suicide?
The Capitol protests has soured many people who were Trump supporters or at least ambivalent about him, and there does appear to be a threat of a party schism.
I keep hearing how the GOP will sweep the Congress in the midterms, but I don't see it happening.
I think all the events of the past year is a huge black eye for the GOP and I just wonder how they’ll recover from these fiascos
Probably a lot of months or even years to do so.
You can be conservative, but you can't spread lies. That's beyond what we'll permit.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"I think the Republican Party is going to split right down the middle, with half of them supporting the GOP and the other half supporting Trump's crazy band of loonies.
It's been 3000 years…Yeah. Like how Perot kept doubling down on being crazy and weird, his reform party took away votes from both partied but mostly from fed-up GOP voters who didn't like Bush Senior.
Trump will siphon off the crazy "I believe it because I saw it on the messageboard/fackbook/it was sent to me by five people" crowd.
The GOP will likely loose the Whitehouse in 2024 unless they really purge the party of the Qidiots and rabid Trumpers.
But on the state and local level, voters are not going to be kind to a party that's been locking them down (while flouting COVID restrictions) and has been seen as in bed with hedge funds while average people are making money on the $GME short squeeze. Democrats could - ironically - see the national GOP become the 'sick old man' of politics as they lose statehouses, governorships and mayors.
All night at the computer, cuz people ain't that great. I keep to myself so I won't be on The First 48Well, it looks like the Paris Climate Agreement is shown to be more and more of a joke because apparently the French government itself hasn't done it's commitments at all. It's a joke to even let Biden join back in when the other governments are doing crap.
That's a common fallacy. Just because someone ignores the rules doesn't permit us to break them as well. We should lead by example.
GIVE ME YOUR FACEI just think that the agreement is useless. I think there should be a different way to handle environmental issues than the mainstream has tried to shove down our throats. And I have a lot of skepticism for a good reason.

"Shove down our throats."
Sorry but if they actually were trying to shove those policies down our throats there would be very little resistance to them. Personally I feel environmental policies make too many compromises.
Although let's be real here again, even the smallest promotion of liberal ideas is considered "shoving it down our throats" as far as conservative talking heads are concerned. They're not interested in having a conversation they just want those ideas shut down.
However I'll bite. What better environmental initiatives do you have in mind?
GIVE ME YOUR FACE
I don't think it's as messed up. They keep telling us to make informed decisions, but then many people push away the notion that this isn't a clump of cells. I do think there is warranting the partisanism in a creator's message and think it's bull.
