I have a question: Why does it feel like everyone just HATES Disney right now? It's like the new punching bag of the decade. And if you say something like 'It's spreading a political message' or 'They're sacrificing good stories for the sake of diversity', I'm not going to take that seriously.
TBH, I think those specific examples are an influx of bad-faith actors.

SoundCloudThey have done a ton of shitty and shady stuff like exploiting their workers, for one (though thats par for the course of capitalism).
Too many remakes and sequels. There is original stuff but it's bogged down by those.
Too many works have mixed morals that are awkward at best, regarding of one's sociopolitical takes. The ways Mulan's remake in live action handles empowerment (hard work in the original, being born with a talent in the remake), Turning Red handles youthful expectations versus adult expectations (I already spoke my piece on it pages ago), Raya handles issues of forgiveness and repentance/unrepentance, Wish handles wishing and 'easy' ways out and entitlement, Duck Tales 17 (which I mostly love) handles family (it's all a subject of heart bonds over bloodlines, lolno you're actually related anyway), and so on are all badly to mediocrily handled by the story.
They don't make charismatic villains anymore.
They don't really make good love stories anymore either. For the most part it's 'family' stuff but it feels like a decade already without a good romance story.
They bought so many things that they have painted themselves as the big corporate freak swallowing everything on its wake versus the underdogs.
Despite the joke I made before, this has always happened, trends ebb and flow, a bad trend will eventually give way to a return to form.

Disney remakes stuff so much I wonder if at some point we'd get a remake of Disney itself.
live action remakes
New theme music also a boxI never noticed that Disney doesn’t do many love stories anymore. That’s fascinating. Even Nick and Judy and Raya and Naamari never get beyond Subtextville.
The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."Well, with the sequel to Zootopia just around the corner, maybe Nick and Judy have a chance to go beyond simple teasing..
I wonder if Disney feels like they have to include some kind of lesson in their movies. Would be cool if they did a movie again along the lines of The Great Mouse Detective or the Rescuers movies where it's just kind of an adventure story and nobody has to learn anything (except maybe "don't be evil, and commit crimes" 🤷 ).
If I had a nickel for every film where Emma Stone falls off a balcony... I'd only have two nickels, but weird that there's two of them.Meanwhile, Pixar had its first unambiguous romance with Elemental and that eventually did well, so who knows, maybe that will give an avenue for further romance movies.
It's been 3000 years…Zootopia the Live Action Remake: I Will Survive
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here.Everyone is hating on Disney because the company continues perform heinous acts from mistreating its workers and swallowing rest of the media landscape into itself. They have more recently monetarily supported a highly visible and reported ongoing genocide.
I think it also has something to do with the fact that their media output is actively floundering. While the live action remakes ostensibly make money, the outcry against them seems to grow with every release. MCU's latest phase(s) have struggled to find footing, and the Disney+ era of Star Wars seems similarly hit-or-miss. Even their own animated studios have not performed particularly well recently, culminating with the critically and financially disappointing milestone Wish.
It is harder to shield yourself behind the beloved media you create if the media you create doesn't end up becoming beloved.
Yeah, it's why the whole Florida vs. Disney isn't really good vs evil but evil vs evil.
Death is a companion. We should cherish Death as we cherish Life.Granted, given that it's Florida under the yoke of a political party that openly wants to completely destroy Western democracy and human rights and replace them with a brutal and fascist hybrid of religious fundamentalism and Orwellian ultranationalism, while Disney is (comparatively) less evil by just being a bog-standard entertainment MegaCorp whose only real endgame is making more money this year than they made last year, I did still want the lesser evil to win in that specific fight.
It's kind of like, if the Joker and Darkseid ever had a battle for the fate of the DC universe, I'd be rooting for Joker to somehow win simply because Darkseid is far worse by every metric, even though the Joker is still objectively awful in his own right.

Oh definitely, Desantis stuff is way, waaay worse.
Death is a companion. We should cherish Death as we cherish Life.I wanted to say this. I know Disney doesnt need any defense or deserve it, but they are SO VERY MUCH the lesser evil.
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here.I'm a foreigner and I can't claim having a good knowledge of US politics, but honestly, from an outsider's perspective at least, it doesn't feel like there's too much of a difference whenever Republicans or Democrats are at the helm.
That would have been true maybe 20 years ago, but today it's definitely not. At least not in a lot, if not most, states.
Republicans overturned Roe vs. Wade, democrats left it alone for decades. I will forever hate Trump's Chief Justice appointees because of this. Sorry if this is too political, I just strongly support women's reproductive rights.
