And the series ends with Akko finally completing a basic task, so I have faith in what we can become! A believing heart etc.

So on a whim I looked into the newest Little Witch manga based on the anime.

Its pretty delightful.

It seems to be wanting to do its own thing so while it reuses the first episode for its first two chapters, the third chapter is witch volleyball, the fourth chapter uses the Super Shooting Star mega ultimate broom concept but re-envisions it as a Lotte story, and the fifth story is a Sucy story. Green team and red team start interacting with each other a lot earlier too.

I've only skimmed through so far but it seems pretty great and worth a look if you're thirsty for contents. I really get the feeling that its going to give that secondary cast focus I wanted from the show.

Idle question: does Diana ever laugh in the series?
