As for why Striker would want to attack Gargantia, it's a win-win scenario. Option one, Ledo uses his connections on the fleet to talk them into signing up with her burgeoning Galactic Alliance colony. Result, more recruits and more resources for her war against the Hideauze and for her goal of establishing a new base on Earth for the Alliance. Option two, she gets to demonstrate how monstrously superior a Machine Caliber's weapons are by utterly annihilating the fleet, and then sit back as the application requests come pouring in from terrified fleets who don't want the same thing to happen to them. Result, more recruits and more resources for her war against the Hideauze and for her goal of establishing a new base on Earth for the Alliance.

Yeah, no need to reason out a justification, it was quite obvious.

Its quite clear that is GA standard protocol, so its not really a big surprise.

Hmmm...This + "Stairway To Heaven" + Urobutcher writing last episode = Gargantians turning to squids to protect their fleet.

Of course not, Ledo will just be alone instead.

Or maybe he hooks up with Chamber after realizing how useful he was.

Said this before I even saw the episode, but having watched it I really do think its turning into Spec Ops The Line; especially the bit Ledo said about how he hasn't really made any decisions his entire life.

Chamber is simply the best.

Except that time he killed The Little Squidmaid, but she was clearly a threat to humanity.

Chamber could be the ultimate wingman. Anyone can picks up girls with a car. How many people can do it with a giant robot?

That was... unfortunate.

x2 Clearly the squidkid wanted to die since it came right up to the thing that killed a ton of its brethren nearby.

Edit: Oh wait my bad what I just wrote implies that she's intelligent and not a mindless beast, which is just silly.

The problem is when the giant robot picks up the girls. And then squishes them.

He's obviously protecting you from the gold diggers.

Yeah, that'd need adjusting.

But think of the wonderfull pickup lines Ledo could use.

"Hey Amy, wanna ride my enormous super weapon? And we could fly with Chamber too!"
