I could see cthun and yog being ran together in a Reno Priest deck.

Cthun feeds into your Yog condition and gives yet more removal.

As a wild player, I’m hyped for Lothraxion. Trade a little speed for IMMENSE resiliancy. Being able to have at least two 3/3 dudes with Divine Shield at any point is nothing to sneeze at.

Helps out a lot against Odd Paladin’s bad matchups (Cube Lock, Reno Priest, Reno Mage).

Question: Can you discover a Chtun piece with Shadow Visions?

I would assume Shadow Visions would work to tutor a piece, yes. Although I am not sure if doubling a piece would speed up the activation of C'thun. (i.e. you Visions an Eye and then draw an Eye, would playing both end up 2/4 or 1/4)

Speeding it up isn’t the point. The point of tutoring the pieces is extra removal given I’d be doing this for Highlander Priest. The potential speed up is a nice extra.

Yeah I get that. Just also idly wondering if it's internally coded as "play A, B, C and D" and the counter is just a simplified indicator or if the counter is all there is.

I got Deck of Lunacy (lol) and Whatley. Guess I'll be trying out this Menagerie Warrior stuff later down the line.

In the meantime, I'm doing Demon Zoo. Twisted Knowledge saved my bacon more than once already.

The new experience system isn't the greatest but I think people are reacting too harshly to it. Yes I miss the 10 gold for 3 wins and challenge a friend quest but the new weekly quests were a great idea. I think I'm at level 18 rewards wise. I got rinling rifle as my free legendary. Now if I could just pull zixor, rifle + zixor would replace hunters pack in my secret hunter deck standard. I also pulled whatley from packs, he'll combo well with captain greenskin should I build a standard warrior deck. Right now I'm only running warrior in wild, a taunt quest deck to take advantage of me pulling lich king and armagedillo. Sky gen'ral kragg runs out my legendary cards in that warrior deck. It does pretty dang good.

So far i only crafted C'thun because i don't even have enough Corrupt cards for Y'Shaarj, though i should have gone for Yogg me thinks.

Also around lvl 22. 3 more and i get another legendary, hopefully i roll one for Priest or Paladin because i have most of the legendaries of the other sets

Got the Hunter weapon from 1st reward and the totem for my legendary.

Crafted Cthun to test my hypothesis. Shadow Visions CAN discover Cthun Pieces. Unfortunately, Cthun is shuffled into your deck after getting your 4 pieces out. This whole mechanic proves someone REALLY loves Castlevania given the blatent reference to Castlevania 2 (and the 2nd half of Symphony of the Night).

That experiment aside, I’m having good results with Cthun in Reno Priest (wild). Reno Priest has ways to make Cthun consistent via Polket. Polket -> seance -> 4th piece -> Polket -> guaranteed Cthun in your hand.

Unfortunately I only went 3/3. With a quest open to get 4 wins, of course.

To my delight, I have discovered that the challenge a friend quest DOES still exist: it nets both players a good deal of XP, no gold. I am very close to rank 25 and my legendary.

I may be able to get the tavern pass next month and enjoy the bonus features (that card back looks lovely. I want it in my collection.) The C'thun bundle is tempting, new legends are a great deal and the extra scholomance can help duels builds but if I have to choose between the 2 I think the bonus features of tavern pass may be slightly better.

What option would you choose if you could only pick 1?

I'm around the 28 level cap and the legendary i got was G'Huun. I did buy the Tavern Pass because in my country's currency it's about 3 dollars.

I also bought the new bundle because it's a lot like felosophy bundle a few months prior and i got a pretty good deal out of the former. That said, it did net me a few epics, Raz and the two legendaries i opened was Inara and the Pandaren dude.

Been a while, i have wasted most of my time playing heroic duels since that the most reliable way to earn gold quick if you roll DH or Warlock. Though ironically my best attempt was with Shaman, that's because i rolled stealth as a passive and who knew Grand Totem Ey'sor was pretty OP with stealth huh?

I tried ladder buuuut it's a complete Demon Hunter clown fiesta, agro everywhere and most of my decks are midrange. I have my own DH deck but it's honestly boring to just Smorc all the time.

Blade Dance is ridiculous now that DH can just have 6 attack by turn with no effort. Control can't do shit when they are dead by turn 5. Risky skipper armorsmith is the best tool against these fuckers.

I haven't tried Heroic Duels yet but I did hit 10 wins with DH on vanilla duels. I'm waiting till I have the dust to craft an Ancient Void Hound to start with. I'm so much better at Duels than I am Arena. Still waiting on Nagrand Garrosh bundle to drop. Maybe after C'thanks bundle leaves? I've reached rank 30 (without the tavern pass boost.) I'm going to get the tavern pass closer to Christmas. Having a lot of fun with the new cards. Still think Scholomance is my favorite set from this year. Dual classes was a great idea.

Played Heroic Duel with my free tavern ticket. Only got 4 wins, but still netted 60 gold + 10 dust + the darkmoon card pack. So even if I'd paid I would have gotten a little something extra vs just purchasing packs at 100 gold a pop.

They've done some balance changes. Notably with the increase in Blade Dance cost (3, used to be 2) you can't combo it with Inner Demon unless you have the coin or a means of discounting card cost (Thaurissan in Wild.) I don't think many people play Inner Demon any more, I've switched to Relentless Pursuit as the cost is much cheaper (3 for +4 attack and immunity, comparable to Warrior's Heroic Strike which at 2 grants the same attack boost but lacks immunity.)

In celebration of Winter Veil they're giving everyone 500 gold + 5 darkmoon packs for logging in and the chance to buy the Winter Veil cardback if they didn't have it already (I do. I've been chugging away at Hearthstone for a while now.) I also heard that Garrosh's chapter in Book of Heroes will be coming this week, I've seen previews of his hero portrait, looks nice, can't wait to see what I pull from the Warrior packs.

Even in wild the lifesteal to face otk didn't use Inner Demon, instead opting for a handful of smaller buffs to get more Thaurissan/Skull discounting.

Well the 500 gold plus the reduced xp actually allowed me to buy the Tavern Pass and first game i managed to get N'Zoth.

I was somehow the first to reach tavern 6 and even landed a triple Baron Rivendare. My opponents were big demons and big pirate as the last two i had to face but rolled poisonous in amalgam and somehow managed to beat both players (helps that the demon players was down to 2 health).

Also i checked the gallery and the Uther skin has a different voiceline so it might be just like the Warson Rexxar one. Maybe i will buy that one.

Merry Christmas, everyone! I waited til today to open my 6 warrior packs and what a treat: I got a golden Deathwing, Mad Aspect. (Currently my 2 warrior decks are pirate- standard and quest taunt wild. But I might mix it up and craft a dragon wild warrior deck sometime. Having a golden legendary in a deck is just so awesome.)

I haven't bought the tavern pass yet, but still managed to reach level 41. I'll be so stoked when I reach level 50. Not sure which skin I'd select.

• VV was working on a remake of Diablo II.
• Blizzard's Team 1, who was behind the classic-styled games like StarCraft II, StarCraft Remastered, Heroes of the Storm, and the critically-panned WarCraft 3: Reforged, were also doing a Diablo II remake, but they got Hakai'd last fall.
• They're being selectively tight-lipped about any of VV's current projects, though they've been working with Blizzard for a while. So no word on any possible remakes of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4.
  • Theoretically, we can assume VV will be doing games based on Blizzard IPs from here on out. (Is an action-adventure single-player Overwatch game too much to ask for?)
• Former head of VV, Jennifer Oneal, will have a spot in Blizzard's leadership team and will report directly to Blizzard's president.

I'm not a fan of the new cards released in the pack... Maybe it's just me, but they kind of feel like power creep.

The basic and classic set are being turned into a new "Core" set

Core Set Breakdown:

• 88 cards returning from Classic (54 class cards, 34 neutral cards).
• 54 cards returning from Basic (41 class cards, 13 neutral cards).
• 55 cards returning from Wild (36 class cards, 19 neutral cards).
• 4 cards returning from Ashes of Outland (4 Demon Hunter Class cards).
• 4 cards returning from Demon Hunter Initiate.
• 1 card returning from Hall of Fame (Shadowform).
• 29 new cards (20 Class cards, 9 Neutral cards).

The new Core Set is available to all players.

The original classic and Basic set become the "Legacy" set

Also a new format. "Classic". It will be just the basic and classic set, as they were in 2014. Cards sent to the HOF will be in the format, and cards added to classic later (Like Icicle) will NOT be in the format (But will be part of the legacy set). The goal is to mimic the 2014 launch state. Furthermore in Classic Format, all the cards will have their June 2014 card text (Patch 1.0.0.5832). Ie: Warsong Commander gives charge again. For example.

Number of Deck Slots going up to 27

HOF is being retired. HOF cards now part of the Legacy set. Which means you can get HOF cards by opening Classic packs. Classic cards you own will appear in two forms, one in their "Current" state, and one in their "Classic" form. Ie: they give the example that your collection manager would show two versions of knife juggler.

Classic cards are now disenchantable and craftable. But you can't disenchant one of the two versions of a classic card (ie: can't disenchant nerfed Knife Juggler and keep regular nice juggler)

What's interesting to me is that most of the demon hunter cards are not making it to the core set? Only 4 Ashes of Outland ones, and 4 from Demon Hunter Initiate.

New expansion: Forged in the Barrens

The aforementioned core set is coming. Some card info came out. Annoy-O-Tron, Tomb Pillager, Tirion Fordring, Menagerie Warden (now 5 mana 4/4), Assassinate (Now a 4 mana card) and Fireball are all Core set cards. The core set legendary dragons are being changed (Meaning the old versions of Ysera, Malygos and Deathwing will be Legacy only)

Ysera the Dreamer: 9 mana 4/12 Battlecry: Add one of each Dream Card to your hand

Malygos the Spellweaver: 9 mana 4/12 Battlery: Draw Spells Until your Hand is full

Deathwing the Destroyer: 9 Mana 12/12 Battlecry: Destroy all enemy minions, discard a card for each destroyed

Shaman is getting a rework like Priest did a while back.
