Agree. Both articles aren't performing well, which makes me think they need a better name than X Parody.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanNominal Parody was recently renamed; its lack of performance probably can't be attributed to its relatively recent name.
Frankly, I'm not sure it's common enough to have too many examples. But by that same token, having two different tropes to cover what is more-or-less the same concept is probably excessive. Support a merge into Nominal Parody.

Speaking words of fandom: let it squee, let it squee.I second this motion.
The Revolution Will Not Be TropeableThirded.
I knew there were two tropes of essentially failed parodies, but the other one I was thinking of was Shallow Parody. I frankly don't see the difference between these two, so I wouldn't object a merge unless someone can come up with a good argument about why and how they're different.
Check out my fanfiction! Is there enough support for the merge at this point to call this done and take care of it?
Bigotry will NEVER be welcome on TV Tropes.Wait, hold on. Here's what happened.
Nominal Parody used to be Parody Failure, whose vague definition encompassed many things. We cleaned up the description a bit to its current form (which is pretty much the same as the current Redundant Parody) but the new description did not cover all examples. So we split off Redundant Parody, Spoofed with Their Own Words and Spoofed the Ironic Film Seriously, and we planned to split off other tropes too - SpoofingSpoofiness has four hats and Parody Shout-out has one. The plan was to either convert Parody Failure into an index or delete it altogether.
But we never removed examples from Parody Failure when we split off the new pages. And we meanwhile renamed Parody Failure to "Nominal Parody."

There was a crowner to rename Parody Failure.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI support the merge, too.
Yeah, there should definitely be only one page for the trope described in "Redundant Parody" and in the Nominal Parody intro. But "Nominal Parody" currently contains examples of Redundant Parody and also examples of other things that now have their own pages. Currently, Nominal Parody contains examples of Redundant Parody, Spoofed the Ironic Film Seriously, Parody Shout Out and Spoofing Spoofiness.
So we could merge them all back into one page, or we could leave them separate and remove the duplicate content from Nominal Parody.

"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI think I agree with this. Redundant Parody and Nominal Parody, as described, are the same trope and should be merged, but many of Nominal Parody's examples need to be spread out to the appropriate tropes.
What is the difference?
Check out my fanfiction!I removed the duplicate content, which was the majority of the article. It's now not clear what Nominal Parody is supposed to be (ignoring the intro, which describes Redundant Parody).
So, we can merge this. Now we need to find a name for it, since the current ones don't have 100% support.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI thought Nominal Parody was only recently renamed, but the rest of the clean-up work hadn't been taken care of.
The Revolution Will Not Be Tropeable^Yes, that's right.
^^You want to merge all the parody failure tropes back into one? Redundant Parody, Spoofed with Their Own Words, Spoofed the Ironic Film Seriously and Spoofing Spoofiness? Or you just want to merge a few of them?

I said this. Redundant Parody and Nominal Parody.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanSo it would make sense to merge it to Nominal Parody, then.
The Revolution Will Not Be TropeableI got confused because a couple posts ago, you said "No need to merge. Remove dupe content." And then I removed the dupe content, and you blanked out that post.
What do we do with what's currently on Nominal Parody, which aren't examples of Redundant Parody / Nominal Parody?
We just took a subset of Nominal Parody and put it on Redundant Parody. If we put it back on Nominal Parody, but exclude all the current bad content, that would be like renaming Redundant Parody to "Nominal Parody." Which is fine, I guess. But is "nominal" a better name than "redundant"? We chose that name back when the page still covered multiple things.

I blanked it because I now support the merge.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanWe've basically merged them now - merged them to Redundant Parody. All but the remaining "Parody Failure" examples, which aren't examples of Redundant Parody. It's not clear what they're examples of, other than Bad Parody.
So what now? Scrap the miscellaneous "bad parody" examples and redirect Nominal Parody to Redundant Parody?
Scrap these bad examples. I do not think we have consensus about which name to use for a merge.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard Feynman
Redundant Parody and Nominal Parody are the same trope with different descriptions — they're both clearly describing the same issue. They even have mostly the same examples, though there are a few examples that are exclusive to one or the other. The obvious solution is a merge, but we need to decide on which name to keep, which would normally be done with a Crowner.
