Equestria Girls: A MLP:FiM Spin Off

Oh damn, this is exciting! I'm especially excited about Human!Dash and Sci-Twi getting to visit Equestria! I wonder if they'll meet the pony versions of themselves too.

YAY! Like Tobias, I'm just really glad to see someone other than Sunset visit Equestria, and having the human versions visit (at least Sci-Twi and Rainbow, in this case) is something I've wanted to see anyway.

Also, we have now officially entered the WTF Timeline Zone and can firmly slot this in with the show's complete lack of f*cks given.

The previous special featured Rarity working her new summer job. Now, with this next special, we're going on SPRING BREAK WHOOOO!!!

And unlike Equestria, the human world doesn't have the excuse that seasons are pony-made and winter just happens whenever Cloudsdale gets here.

So is this the last EQG movie? I assume they are going to wrap the series up for the end of FIM? That would explain why they are FINALLY adressing the plot coupon magic leakage from Equestria.

Also, I'll second that it doesn't make sense for human Twilight to have wings in her pony form. I feel like she only has wings because Twilight's been an alicorn longer than a unicorn and the writers have forgotten that she isn't naturally one. If anypony in this cast gets to be an alicorn, Sunset Shimmer's the most deserving. She's been the team Big Good for a while now.

It's weird when you think about it. Twilight is instantly beloved at Canterlot High because Princess Twilight was here. She's accepted into the group before she even knows who any of these people are because Princess Twilight was their friend. Now she gets to be an alicorn because Princess Twilight is one.

The human Twilight seems to be the passive recipient of a lot of cool perks from happening to share a cross-dimensional gobbledygook with somepony important. Some folks are just born lucky, I guess.

Yeah, its really weird when you think about it. Sci Twi is basically the humane six's Replacement Goldfish for Pony Twilight. I don't think anyone besides Sunset even references Pony Twilight anymore. For all intents and purposes, Sci Twi has now fully replaced the original Twilight.

To be fair, they only knew Princess Twilight for, like, a combined five or six days out of their entire lives. As those days drift further and further into the past, it's understandable that they wouldn't talk about her much. She's more like a distant cousin from out of state who popped in to visit briefly than one of the group.

As months and months pass without any subsequent visits, Princess Twilight drifts from True Companion to "Once, when I was a kid, a pony princess alien visited my school. It was weird."

Well, except of course that this show refuses to acknowledge that such a thing could EVER happen. Once you make a friend on this show, you're supposed to be friends forever, or you're doing something wrong.

Super excited for this special. We finally got that cruise trip, the girls in new outfits (which I something I always like to see, I fricking love when characters change clothes), Sci-Twi and Rainbow Dash visiting Equestria (and I really love that Dash is getting some spotlight in this special).

A thing I noticed in the blurry previews is that Fluttershy apparently has a pet lobster. That's fricking adorable. She continues to be the best character in both franchises.

Why finally? I wasn't aware that fans had been pining for these characters to go on a cruise.

I've been expecting the cruise for a while, because of Dance Magic and some other bits of out-of-universe trivia I picked up leading up to the release of the Digital Series.

I had figured the cruise would end up being a series of shorts, like the beach ones, turns out it was a special like Forgotten Friendship. That's even better.

If this is the final Equestria Girls thing, and I hope it's not, I want original Twilight to be a lot more involved.

Because of leaked material, the fandom had figured that The Other Side would be the name of the next special, what with it being about finding a new portal to Equestria. Turns out it was something else entirely. Uless this short is connected to the special? There is a theme of mirrors there, but I think the fandom just jumped the gun on the title.

Would that be the Christmas special? Or was that a ponies special?

By the way, I finally got around to writing my chapter for the next Round Robin (the one about EQG). So it is back on track now. Sorry everyone for procrastination on it so long.

Anyway, here's the current list of participants I have recorded: Rainbow, Kyler Thatch, Rytex, Lord Vatek, Meta Four, Sereg, Kegisak, and Wryte. If any of you want to go in a specific order, please tell me. Otherwise, I'll just send it out to whoever happens to be ready. Also, if there is anyone not on the list who wants to participate, please tell me.

Birdy 18, if you want to see villains suffer, go to Berserk. If seeing villains suffer is, at all, what you're expecting from My Little Pony, then you'll be waiting until the universe becomes a cold, lifeless place.

Eh, I can't say that they were entirely separate from one another since Shimmer still has her tome that lets her converse with Sparkles. I think that, yes, they have grown quite distant by now but considering what had happened with them, they still have a bond that has become cold and staid but can still be revitalized.

there better be a flippin' quality Watsonian reason that Sparkles stopped going over there and, yes, "being a Princess means lots of work" will not do in the slightest.

Yeah, I doubt that will ever happen. Introducing Sci Twi has pretty much shut the door on Pony Twilight appearing. This spinoff clearly wants to be it's own thing.

I wonder if this show will end as well when the series proper comes to an end. If it does, there will only be one or two more EQG movies, I think.
