FirockFinion THE SLORG! from The Red Desert Since: Jul, 2009 Relationship Status: Wishfully thinking
THE SLORG!
#76: Jan 2nd 2013 at 1:32:35 AM

Going ahead with this, since I've finished it anyway and I'd like to know if it's acceptable.

  • Name: Firock Finion

  • Age: 20

  • Gender: Male

  • Species: Lizardfolk

  • Appearance: Mainly like this, but without the fins or tail spike, a different bow, and the forearm guard being plain leather instead of detailed metal.

  • Personality: Firock lives by an unshakable personal belief of what makes a true hero,* and strives to be just such a hero. He is first and foremost a "good guy", always seeking to help and protect the helpless and innocent. However, Firock is not really naive to how things are, and does not blindly believe that good will always triumph evil; and yet he strives towards his goal anyway, because as he puts it, "somebody has to."

  • Skills: Having grown up on a remote farm, Firock is familiar with menial labor; this has made his body and endurance strong, along with his tolerance for pain and exertion. Regular hunting in the nearby forests has made him adept with a bow and his claws, as well as knowledge on tracking and how to live off the land. Being a Lizardfolk, Firock has a certain degree of natural armor, though it only really helps against glancing blows; being Lizardfolk also makes him an excellent swimmer, and able to hold his breath for over an hour.

  • Assets: A bow along with thirty iron-tipped arrows, and sparse strips of hardened leather make up Firock's starting non-natural weapons and armor. Other than that, he usually carries a bed roll on his back, and has a few bags along his belt to store small, miscellaneous things in; though right now they are almost all empty, save for a few medicinal herbs he gathered.

  • Bio:
Twenty years prior, a Human farmer was exploring through the forest near his home when he happened across a village in a more swamp-like area. The village was Lizardfolk in origin, but completely abandoned; there was no sign of the previous inhabitants, leaving him to wonder what had happened. There he found a single, large egg, and decided to take it home with him to his wife. That egg hatched, and the couple decided to adopt the young one, naming him Firock.

The farm and forest were far out of reach of Lord Karnas, allowing Firock to live in peace and ignorance. Firock grew strong and helped out around the farm constantly, eager to repay the kindness his adoptive parents had given him by raising him as their own. As he grew, he was captivated by stories of heroism told to him by his parents, quickly settling his own opinion on what he thought really made a hero.

Finally, not long ago, his adoptive father spoke with him, telling him that he had repaid them more than enough, and that it was time for Firock to do with his own life what he will. He also told Firock of the hardship the rest of Aldaris was going through, having kept it from him so as not to depress him.

Firock knew then what he would do. Just as he was spared from almost certain death by the kindness of others who had no real reason or obligation to do so, so too would he show the same kindness to others. Firock willingly gave up any chance at a peaceful, quiet life, to go and see to it that the tyranny of Lord Karnas came to an end. Because he felt that in order for that to happen, someone would have to make a stand, and it might as well be him.

  • Name: Aria Silverbullet
  • Age: 28
  • Gender/Sex: Genderless, technically, but she can take male or female forms (usually female, and she identifies herself as such)
  • Species/Class: Magical Construct/Battle Sorceror
  • Appearance: Don't believe it, she's never really this calm
  • Personality: Destructive, bloodthirsty, and extremely grumpy on Mondays. She's got a bit of a god complex and an ego, and has a deep seated grudge with the current regime. Mostly because she's not the one ruling it. She's an all around typical villain, and professes to be nothing less. She wants all the power, money, and everything else she can handle. While she is fulfilling her intended purpose, she couldn't care less about the people, and more wants to topple the regime just so she can rule it herself, and for the satisfaction of making Karnas piss himself. She shows shades of being a Noble Demon at times, but her being anything other than a bloodthirsty psychopath is just asking too much.
  • Skills:
    • Advanced Destruction Magic: Her preferred form of magic, which she's practiced since she was nothing but a formless spirit. She's got the unbridled bloodlust and power to qualify as one of, if not the most destructive Sorceror alive.
    • Magical Shielding: While it's not exactly her specialty, she's leagues more competent than less hardened sorcerors at magic shielding, which makes sense since she dedicated her magical talents to combat.
    • Other: She has a few other tricks like shapeshifting, but they're mostly standard fare for sorcerors, and nothing really special.
    • Berserker Rage: She's fucking nuts. Not great for sensitive situations or out of the box thinking, but it helps blow shit up.
  • Assets:
    • Magic Flintlock Rifle Pistols: Two flintlock pistols with rifle grips and optional attachable barrel extensions for longer range shooting. The bullets they fire are magical, and their flight can be controlled, although they will automatically seek out the nearest target when fired on their own.
    • Powder Charges: Various powder grenades packed with mana. Can be imbued with various destructive elemental spells.
  • Bio: One of the many magical constructs created to combat the spreading darkness, Aria's past is something you really don't want to get into. Without minding specifics, something happened to her a long time ago that made her want power, convinced her that she needed it if she wanted to survive. Ever since then, questing for more power and proving her own superiority over others has become a force of habit rather than a survival mechanism, and she now considers it to almost be like a lifestyle.

Okay, I'll say something.

Now, I'm not speaking for the GM, at ALL, but I do feel that Aria Silverbullet, is not only over-powered, but those powers combined with her personality and goals are completely wrong for this RP.

Advanced Destruction Magic: Her preferred form of magic, which she's practiced since she was nothing but a formless spirit. She's got the unbridled bloodlust and power to qualify as one of, if not the most destructive Sorceror alive.

To start, she has "Destruction Magic". Yet, you don't tell us what that means at all. What can it "destroy". Is destruction like disintegration? Chaos making? How wide a radius? Touch only? This sounds way to powerful and way to vague. Honestly, it seems like it was too intentional.

Magical Shielding: While it's not exactly her specialty, she's leagues more competent than less hardened sorcerors at magic shielding, which makes sense since she dedicated her magical talents to combat.

Secondly, "Magical Shielding", once again, you're being so vague that in the RP you could just say any which thing. How powerful is the shielding, or long does it last? It is it a dome or just uni-directional? Does it protect against magic and physical? Or just magic? We. Need. Specifics.

Other: She has a few other tricks like shapeshifting, but they're mostly standard fare for sorcerors, and nothing really special.

Third, "standard shapeshifting". You aren't fooling anyone. I can see the little tricks you pull to make things seem like they aren't OP. Are you sure that is standard fare? What can she shapeshift into? How long, etc. etc. etc.

VAGUE = OP nine times out of ten. More like ten actually. Because if we do not know what you can do, you might as well be able to do whatever you want.

Magic Flintlock Rifle Pistols: Two flintlock pistols with rifle grips and optional attachable barrel extensions for longer range shooting. The bullets they fire are magical, and their flight can be controlled, although they will automatically seek out the nearest target when fired on their own.

Next, her weapons. Let's start with the pistols. Just, the tech, and long range and everything just sounds so OP. And the bullets are "magical"? What does that even mean? Why would you say that fact if it wasn't important? DESCRIBE THINGS. And their flight can be controlled? You can just shoot and aim any which way, with bullets? Do you know how fast bullets are? Very. OP.

Personality: Destructive, bloodthirsty, and extremely grumpy on Mondays.

Now. All of this. ALL OF IT, would be one thing. One very OP thing that would need fixing. But the part that makes it all just WAY TO MUCH, is her freaking personality. She is bonkers. insane. She can't be reasoned with, and she wants power. She kills, and does what she wants. Daltar has said that this RP has EXTREMELY minimal PVP. Which is why your character, who revels in her insanity, and her ability to kill and destroy, is completely incompatible with the other characters, and this RP.

This is not a personal attack. I am not bullying you. But I, and I KNOW other people, think you have a huge problem with making characters that are too overpowered.

Again, I am not daltar. I do not speak for her. But I think I speak for everyone when I say, "KSPAM, this is ridiculous."

.... Dude, seriously. Chill the fug out. It sounds like you're about to pop a blood vessel, and frankly, I don't think I've done anything to warrant that yet. Destruction magic simply means elemental magic. Think Skyrim. Thunderbolts and lightning, very very frightening etc.

Secondly, magical shielding means exactly that. Magical shielding. Think of it like a thin membrane of mana which acts like an energy dampener. Kinetic energy, heat energy, and all other kinds of energy are dampened and absorbed by this membrane, reducing damage taken by physical and magical attacks (except those of a more abstract nature like curses, these shields only protect against brute force).

Third, standard shapeshifting means she can change her appearance at will. I don't know how much easier it is to explain. Since Green Dragons can usually all do it, and their magical prowess is nothing compared to sorcerors, I made a logical assumption that doing so would be simple for a magical construct who never really had a "true form" to begin with.

Fourth, I honestly don't know why you're overreacting here. Flintlock is perfectly within the timeframe, and magic bullets means magic bullets. They're magic because she can control their flight pattern. Have you ever seen Hellsing Ultimate? Specifically the part with Rip Van Winkle? It's like that. And honestly, I assumed speed levels would be high enough that bullets would need to seek for them to be effective (a.k.a I was expecting supersonic bullet timers, or at least advanced aimdodging).

Edit what? I addressed everything he was concerned about. As for personality, that's for daltar to decide. However, I don't really see the problem there, either. Every ensemble has to have its Richards and Greeds. It's a fantasy setting, we practically need the reluctant Noble Demon/Loveable Rogue/Token Evil Teammate. It's in the rules. Somewhere...

You don't understand. It isn't just the vagueness. Just clarifying some things isn't enough. Your character has a HORRIBLE personality, that is incompatible with this RP. Her goals, ambitions, quirks, and flaws are not going to work here.

You're right. It's for daltar. I won't say anything else.

How doesn't it work? Like I said, this kind of Noble Demon Token Evil Teammate is par for the course in most fantasy. And frankly, I kind of find it hard to believe this isn't a personal attack when you refer to my character as having a "HORRIBLE" personality and saying they're just no good here.

  • Name: Prince Alexander Ironharte

  • Age: 22

  • Gender: Male

  • Species/Class : Human Hero

  • Appearance: Stand aside, or you'll be another stain in my armor.

  • Personality: Alexander is witty, cultured and likes his way with words. He's also disenchanted, cynical and scoffs optimism. Many think that this is a defense mechanism to deal with the situation he's thrusted in. He doesn't like the responsibilities that come with royal blood and a crown, but deep down he's a kind, if grumpy soul, that adheres to Noblesse Obligue the best he can. He also tries to be chivalrous whenever possible, but knows that sometimes one has to compromise to save his vassals. Down to earth, he knows the world at large is an ugly place, but it's a place worth fighting for.

  • Skills:

    • Gifted Intellect: Alexander is a rather bright youth, a trait he puts into use when leading his folk or advising peers. He has a great understanding of tactics, logistics, administration, politics, diplomacy and economy, necessary traits to rule a kingdom. He has also passing knowledge on alchemy, blacksmithing and engineering.
    • Fitness: Alexander had the luck to inherit the ridiculous and over-the-top constitution of both his parents, and it shows. Alexander has a degree of stamina, reflexes and strenght comparable to those bearing Divine Arms. He lacks the healing and decreased need to drink and eat factor, though, and his conventional swordmanship is just passable.
    • Master Assasin: Alexander is not very proud of it, but thanks to the rigorous training of his mother, he's very adept at killing people with underhanded methods. Stealth, poison, traps, killing blows with martial arts, are things he's incredibly good at. He however understands that they go against the chivalry nobility has to keep and thus is reluctant to use them save in the most dire circumstances.

  • Assets: Alex is royalty, and it shows. He could probably raise an army given enough time to recall his loyal subjects, and his word can only be superseded by the King in his homeland. However, the movement and time limitations means that most of the time he'll stuck to having a fine horse, a shiny armor, a good crossbow, some throwing daggers, a sword, gold for travelling expenses, and a warm cloak.

  • Bio: Alexander is one of the two love children of perhaps one of the most bizarre stories of love in the entire land. King Cael Ironharte of Blackstone was once one of the few monarchs opposed to the Dark Tyrant. He was a strong, kind soul, but a little boisterous, and could never find an adequate woman. A female assasin named Nightshade was dispatched to kill the King. Instead they fought for twenty nights and twenty days, before both fell in love with eachother. Alexander grew in a court always besieged by dark forces, under the strict grooming of both his parents, who shaped him to be the next ruler should they die. Alex, thus felt chained to his position and responsabilities even since he was a child, unlike his own pampered sister. He dreamt of living without a crown attached to his head, be a simple adventurer, but he could never fulfill his dream due to his obligations. However, he always smiled a little when he saw the faces of the people who were happy their rulers were fair and supportive in these dark times, specially now that their so-called kingdom is reduced to only just one city in the outskirts of the Dark Empire, the eponymous Blackstone.

His decision to part was thus not motivated for thirst of adventure, but because the Queen, King and himself acknowledged that the old tales of Sacred Arms, Dragons and Sorcerers, were worth a shot, and perhaps the last chance to upset the balance of a losing war.

Edit: Oh, and for the record, I have asked daltar wether a defector demon was okay as character and he/she did say it would not work, so chances are that's not gonna buy it, KSPAM.

I've been getting more hyped for this the more I think about it, so I think I'll put up my character sheet now.

  • Name: Elizabeth Wren (she goes by Eliza)
  • Age: 21
  • Gender: Female
  • Species / Class: Human / future Sacred Arms user
  • Appearance: Since we seem to be using picture links for this, she looks kind of like this, minus the flower. Also, if you subtract the necktie, add a cloak and make the whole ensemble patched, dirty and worn, then this is what her outfit looks like.
  • Personality: Originally quite friendly, if a little short-tempered and impatient, Eliza has learned the value of caution and the benefits of distrust the hard way. Intelligent and above all prudent, she will do whatever it takes to survive. She is not too proud to run away from a fight if she possibly can, and not too noble to fight dirty if she can't. When she has the opportunity, she is still friendly, although considerably less open and honest than she used to be (another precaution). When she has the luxury of being in a situation where she could be kind to something without putting herself at a disadvantage, she will usually do so. She has a somewhat personal hatred for Lord Karnas' regime, and is currently searching for one of the Sacred Arms, in order to personally rejoin the Resistance without simply throwing her life away as a completely normal human. She wants Lord Karnas to be gone, but she also wants to be alive to see the world without him.
  • Skills: Eliza has always been athletic, and over the past four years, she has been honing her skills with particular vigour. Fast, agile and flexible, she excels at getting herself out of danger. She knows how to blend in with a crowd, is a fairly good pickpocket, and has grown rather proficient at using knives as weapons. Other than that, though, she's pretty much what you'd expect of a scrawny young woman, which is why she tries very, very hard to avoid fighting if she possibly can. She also technically has a pistol that she can technically shoot, but due to her lack of ability with the weapon and the fact that it only has five bullets remaining, she is only likely to use it if she fears for her life. She is, however, much more likely to pull it out and brandish it in an attempt to scare off attackers.
  • Assets: Aside from the clothes on her back, Eliza has currently managed to scrounge and steal a little bit of money and some food, which she keeps in an old knapsack, along with a waterskin, a needle, and some thread. She has five knives of varying size and quality hidden on her person, and her prized possession is a stolen pistol, which she keeps in a makeshift pocket stitched to the inside of her cloak. It only has five bullets left, and she really doesn't know how to use it, but it makes her feel more secure.
    • Sacred Arm: Eliza's Sacred Arms will eventually be Wolf and Rabbit, passed down by Korik, the Hearth God. Wolf and Rabbit are a pair of ornate twin daggers, set with jewels and bearing, respectively, carvings of a wolf and a rabbit on the handle. Possessing the daggers will make Eliza immune to age and disease and allow her to go slightly longer without food, water or sleep, as well as making her a little bit more durable and giving her a slight healing factor. More importantly, though, it will drastically increase her speed, balance, agility and flexibility. She'll be able to run, jump and otherwise perform acrobatics at a superhuman level; basically, to put things into context slightly, she'd probably be less durable than the average Sacred Arms bearer (although still more durable than a regular human), but she'd be faster and more proficient at things like jumping and flipping around than most. Additionally, she would gain access to Wolf and Rabbit's special abilities. Calling on the power of Rabbit would allow Eliza to turn invisible, while calling on the power of Wolf would let her do a massive amount of damage to her target. She can only call on one of these abilities at a time, though, so while she is invisible, she'd do as much damage as you'd expect from a regular person with a dagger, and while she is calling on Wolf, she becomes visible. And she's not going to start out with her Sacred Arms. Addition: After receiving Wolf and Rabbit, she will also gain the ability to see in the dark, and her sense of smell and hearing will be heightened.
  • Bio: Hoo boy. This is going to be the long part.

Eliza was born in Verthnix to a pair of servants of Lord Karnas, who had been allowed to live in relative comfort within the city thanks to their meek obedience. As Eliza's father was an eighteen-year-old student just starting out at the university of Teras, and Eliza's maternal grandparents were both academics at that same university, both sides of her family retained a love of knowledge that endured despite the reality of their new lives as kitchen staff. Eliza and her older sister, Miranda, were both haphazardly educated by their parents, and welcomed their education with varying degrees of enthusiasm; Miranda with absolute academic devotion, and Eliza with moderate interest tempered by her greater love of physical activity. Despite growing up in Verthnix under Lord Karnas, Eliza's childhood was not unhappy, and was in fact mostly uneventful; she had a large number of friends among the other servant children, and her loving family did all they could to shelter her from the realities of life in Verthnix, teaching her and her sister to lay low and be obedient.

As Miranda and Eliza grew older, however, they were increasingly exposed to the harsh realities of life in Verthnix. Both sisters grew resentful of the regime, but while Eliza believed herself to be powerless to do anything about it, Miranda sought out and joined the Resistance. When Eliza turned seventeen, Miranda attempted to recruit her; frustrated with the city's state of affairs, and longing to do something to change them, she accepted.

Their first act of rebellion against Lord Karnas went smoothly, as far as Resistance operations in the heart of Verthnix can go. In the dead of night, Miranda and Eliza helped a raiding party strip a small guards barracks bare of items, taking away weapons, ammunition and food (incidentally, this was where Eliza got her pistol, as well as what was, at the time, a fairly good amount of ammunition for it). However, the next morning, news of the raid had travelled through the city, and an announcement was put up encouraging citizens to turn in the culprits. Such messages were not uncommon, but this was the first time any of them had directly affected Eliza. She began to panic, convincing herself that she and Miranda would both be arrested within days, and, after unsuccessfully attempting to convince Miranda to join her, made the decision to run away from Verthnix alone and wander the countryside. For the past four years, she's been scrounging a living as a thief and beggar, trying to avoid the many dangers on the road while she attempts to reconcile her attempts at self-preservation with her desire to change the world for the better. She does not believe that Miranda is likely to still be alive, but still holds out hope that her obedient parents and her friends are, and wants more than anything to return to them someday.

Is all of that okay? I can take away the pistol if it looks like it's going to be a problem - Eliza only has it because I felt like she would logically steal one if she had the opportunity, and because Verthnix apparently has that sort of technology, and because she could probably fend for herself slightly better just by brandishing it at people who might otherwise see her as an easy target. But if it clashes with the setting or something, then I can easily get rid of it.

Anyway, thanks. This looks like it's going to be a lot of fun. ^_^

I can see where the detrimental part comes from, considering it's a group of people that are the last hope and are fighting for a good future, so having a backstabbing evil teammate wouldn't be that good of an idea. Also, Greed isn't really that good of an example, considering that his first form didn't do anything to help the heroes and his last form only really helped them at one of the final battles and his "turning good" moment had more to do with Ling himself than Edward and the others. Also, Ling would periodically get in control of his body, giving the others more reason to not beat up Greed.

That's what I mean by one of the last battles. Really, Greedling appears in the last leg of the manga, and he only goes "good" in the last leg of the last leg.

"Fucking nuts berserker" is not the word I'd use to describe your character. "Villain with no redeeming qualities that will obviously use people to reach power and then kick them out, leading me to question why would the heroes be dumb enough to get someone like this in the group, never counting you yourself say there's nothing past shades of noble demon in her, and how she'd do anything to be the one ruling" is what I'd use.

Actually, no, "obvious setup for a second main villain that'll show up after we "defeat" the first main one" seems better. Believe me, I've done those.

Alright, here's my sheet. Let me know if this looks alright, Daltar.

  • Name: Corbin Bulbarak
  • Age: 61
  • Gender: Male
  • Species/Class: Mountain Dwarf/Sacred Arms user
  • Like this, only with black hair. Also, no wings on his boots.
  • Personality: Stout and stern, Corbin is a product of equal parts paladinhood and dwarven culture. He is devout in his service to Berrothoin, dwarven god of craft and quakes, and holds a deep respect for all that he sees as his patron's domain. Once a mellow, content craftsdwarf, over a decade of military service in defense of his mountain-home has tempered him into something of a front-line strategist, though he has also become bitter and slightly paranoid after so many years of fighting Lord Karnas' forces or the Jotun with whom his people 'share' their mountain. As a man who has survived for so long under threat of avalanches and invading armies, he also knows that retreat can - and often is - a sensible strategy when facing down unfavorable odds; just because he knows that doesn't mean he likes it, however. While he is clearly more combative than diplomatic, Corbin's numerous brushes with death have taught him, even in the face of his devotion to his own god, that an open mind and willingness to sidestep convention can be vital tools for survival, so he is unlikely to push his morality upon those who are not actively acting against his own.
  • Skills: Corbin is, as one might expect from a military paladin, more than capable of handling himself in multiple forms of combat. Sturdy, strong, and innovative, his prowess as a craftsdwarf helped set the foundation for what he would eventually become. A battleaxe and shield are his favored arms, but if limited by range, he is also quite an excellent shot with a crossbow. Mostly a defensive fighter, Corbin shows surprising agility for a dwarf, as his battles against the Jotun have necessitated over the years. With that said, particularly agile warriors will be able to outmaneuver him, but might still find his shield difficult to get around. In addition to his martial abilities, Corbin has also mastered a small amount of divinely-granted magic, which mostly consists of minor healing words and protective enchantments. Nothing he does is unique to him, and a sorcerer could no doubt outperform him in this regard several times over, but the added versatility serves him well.
  • Assets: Aside from his clothing, Corbin possesses his suit of blessed armor, which he can don or dismiss into the ether with a short verbal command. The armor itself has no other remarkable qualities, aside from being of particularly high quality. He carries a knapsack with a few days' worth of food, a waterskin, and some flint and tinder for starting fires. He keeps his crossbow strapped across his back, along with a small supply of spare bolts at his belt, and of course, his Sacred Arms.
    • Sacred Arm:
      • Name: Braut'nyr and Bazsten.
      • Shape: & Abilities Braut'nyr is a dwarven battleaxe forged from obsidian that crackles with electricity when wielded, and is capable of firing off lightning bolts from its top if so commanded. Bazsten, by contrast, is a powerful bulwark shield which, on command, can take the shape of a swirling torrent of flames, while still providing Corbin its usual protection. Bazsten is particularly effective when combating ice magic, such as what the Jotuns shamans typically rely on in battle, though it is somewhat resistant to magic in general, providing Corbin with quite a lot of protection.
      • Enhancements on the wielder: In addition to the protections Bazsten provides, wielding either of the weapons will allow Corbin greater strength and overall durability, while wielding both will provide greater strength for his divine magic. They also, as is standard for Sacred Arms, stop his aging, provide a healing factor, and allow him to go for longer periods of time without sustenance.
  • Bio: Let me know if the way he acquired his Sacred Arms is alright. It seemed like it would fit with his overall theme, but if you'd prefer, I've got not problem with changing it.

Corbin was born and raised in the mountain-home of Harwerlode, the son of a locally-famous craftsdwarf. Since the time he could stand the heat of the forge, both he and his father knew he'd spend his days whetting his hands and talents creating his craft, and Corbin was more than happy to settle into that life. However, that was not what Berrothoin had in store for him. Jotun raiding parties knocked at their gates steadily more often, and while their walls were never breached, the frost giants' axes and wargs were always just beyond their doorstep. The soldiers fought with steel and faith, and while Corbin was not yet old enough to fight alongside them, he and his father provided what Berrothoin allowed. As their prayer of thanksgiving goes, their god gave them the steel, and the stone, and the tools to shape both.

Once he came of age, however, Corbin decided he'd had enough of watching others fight with the weapons he'd given them; he wanted to defend his mountain-home with his own weapons, held in the very hands that forged them. Had his father not supported his decision - albeit with a healthy dose of concern - he'd likely have rethought his stance at the time. However, he came of age during a period of relative calm, so his training went uninterrupted as he was inducted into both the Harwerlode military service, and the sacrament of the Holy Runeforge of Berrothoin. As their craft is, in itself, a form of worship, the Paladins of Harwerlode were expected to forge their own arms and armor, whilst praying to the Lord of Craft and Quakes for skill and stability.

Corbin's first set of arms and armor served him well, but were eventually worn down with time and repeated use. His next lasted longer, as did the set after that, and so it continued for just over four years, during which time his service and devotion tempered him into a true Paladin with a fairly impressive record of victories, and a talent for holding the line against attacking frost giants. After several of such sacred repairs, Corbin was tasked by his city's holy smiths to reach the peak of their mountain-home, where the Holy Runeforge itself rested. After days upon days of weathering jagged cliffs and the very elements themselves, to say nothing of the ever-present danger of the Jotun, Corbin reached the Runeforge and, in accordance with Berrothoin's sacrament, immediately set about the arduous task of transforming his mundane armaments into the Divine Arms: Braut'nyr, the lightning axe, and Bazsten, the iron flame. Since then, Corbin has defended both his patron and his mountain-home with even greater devotion for a decade and a half, using the tools Berrothoin gave him to defend what he values most. Since the call has gone out for heroes to rise up against Lord Karnas, however, he has since taken to the road to join with any heroes and heroines who might also seek to save Aldaris.

How was that? Let me know if I need to fix anything, Daltar. I'm really looking forward to starting this. This seems like it's going to be pretty awesome.

  • Name: Arcaros, the Golem Lord
  • Age: 24
  • Gender: Male
  • Species / Class: Black Dragon, Goblin in the humanoid form.
  • Appearance: The dragon form. The humanoid form.
  • Personality: Arcaros is a rather withdrawn dragon, the kind of guy you'd see sitting in the darkest corner of the tavern, drinking alone. He likes herbalism and alchemy, although he vastly prefers the poisons, acids and similar to healing potions and the like. He really doesn't like to be called names because of his height in his humanoid form and if you do, it might be the last comprehensible thing you have said. Arcaros doesn't change his humanoid form, as the namecalling serves as a good excuse for him to test his latest brew on his victims. He usually has an "I'm surrounded by idiots" mindset, but once you prove yourself not to be utterly incompetent to him, he will respect you as equal. This probably stems from the incompetence of his golems, which tend to be not very smart.
  • Skills:
    • The standard Black Dragon powers, Acid Breath and surviving underwater.
    • Arcaros favourite magic is animation and thus he is usually creating golems. Although they are quite strong and enduring, their intelligence comes close to nonexistant and they will fall apart if not maintained for too long.
    • Arcaros is a skilled alchemist, usually focussing on potions of the "I-wouldn't-drink-this-if-I-were-you" type. He also knows a bit about various herbs and their effects.
  • Assets: This staff, a caldron made out of a black metal with a greenish hue, various herbs and flasks and a few other alchemical utensils.
  • Bio: Arcaros was born and raised by an old man in a larger city, who passed away while Arcaros was still rather young. He then made his living as an apothecary, although it is fairly well known, that he is selling some less legal substances as well. Yet, noone knows of him being a dragon. Having to survive on his own, he soon started to animate various golems to do his chores for him.

  • Name: Atheli the Ebon Blade
  • Age: 23
  • Gender: Male
  • Species/Class: Human (Sacred Arms Bearer)
  • Appearance: Might put a description later, but here's the general gist.
  • Personality: A crude, selfish man, Atheli believes in strength above all else. He dislikes helping others, generally only willing if they give a incentive for him. The reason for this however, is that he has the firm belief that one should be able to be strong enough to overcome anything. He respects those who do, and may even be willing to assist if the odds are unreasonable in their favor. He keeps a jolly and raucous mood even in battle, and never harbors any personal hatred or dislike towards someone. He's completely honest with those he likes, and flirty with women. Although he actually has no grudge towards the Dark Lord, although he does find the thought of him fighting one of the strongest warriors of this time a great challenge. He also admire the people willing to stand up against him, and thus is more compliant towards them.
  • Skills: Atheli has constantly trained and fought in battle, to the point where he excels with most weapons. Swift with a sword, accurate with a bow, and mighty with a hammer. Even with his armor, he's surprisingly nimble while still striking with great force. His stamina is excellent; In a equal battle of attrition, he would almost surely be the winner every time. He can also be sneaky when he has to, and can be near silent. Aside from combat skills, he knows enough to survive on his own, foraging, scouting, and being able to tend to wounds.
  • Assets: He carries a short sword, in case of too close-combat and as a emergency weapon. At this time, he also has a horse with most of his travelling supplies on it, including a crossbow just in case.
  • Sacred Arm: The Harbinger of War, Arleon.
    • Shape: Arleon is in the shape of a pole-ax, a axe-blade on one side, a hammer on the other, and a spike at the tip. The entire head is pitch-black, but other than that, it doesn't anything ornate on it.
    • Abilities: Arleon is nearly impossible to dull or break (and self-repairs when it does). As a embodiment of war, it slowly gets stronger as it's in a battle. It provides a energy shield surrounding the wielder, defending against mostly magical attacks.
    • Enchancements to the Wielder: Aside from what it gives like all other Sacred Arms, it lets Atheli survive longer without any nourishment or sleep. He can survive mortal wounds, and recover from anything less. It also gives him a aura of fear during fights, making any weak-willed enemies cower, and unnerve the rest.
    • Bio: Orphaned at birth and left to die, Atheli was taken in by a elderly quartermaster of the Ebon Blades, a once noble and renowned mercenary group, but now reduced to taking dirty work at best, and raiding merchants or villages at its worse. Not wanting any extra burdens, the leader had Atheli work from the very time he could stand. When other children played with toys, he practiced with weapons. When others whined about bedtime, he stayed up until all chores were finished. When they liked to play soldier, he was off being one, although only to finish off the wounded at his young age. Only the quartermaster helped to truly raise him, taught him things not of becoming just a brutal sellsword. Even then, seeing how the other members of the group mocked the old man helped forge his thoughts about strength. When he could wield a sword (soon after the quartermaster died) he joined the others in fights. He enjoyed the decent fights, being the first one to go in, and the last to go out. He slowly became disappointed and soon disgusted at the Ebon Blades's cowardice, picking off weak targets and running from anything else. This eventually came to a head when they captured a adventurer, said to have found a great treasure. Whatever cold-blooded interrogation they tried to do to him, he didn't yield of its location. Interested and now tired of the Ebon Blades, Atheli gave the man a choice. If he freed the man, he'd get the treasure. Surprisingly, the man agreed, and in the middle of the night, the two left. They were pursued, but Atheli quickly fended off any attack (and left many corpses). When the attacks stopped, the adventurer thanked him, giving him a map and warned him of the dangers before disappearing to parts unknown. Having only a few supplies, Atheli followed the map, taking whatever work he could find. Eventually he reached the location, a hidden shrine long since abandoned. As he set foot on it, he was rushed by a onslaught of constructs. Fighting his way through them, he eventually made his way to the end, exhausted and his blades dulled. He found a weapon laid on a pedastal, looking as if it newly placed there amongst the ruins. Taking it, he felt a rush of energy. He went out of the temple, with renewed vigor, and set out to find a worthy fight.

More than likely has its own problems, so telling me anything that needs to be downplayed or fixed would be nice.

  • Name: Talia Al-Jazari
  • Age: 40, a teenager to the Ifrit.
  • Gender: Female
  • Species / Class: Ifrit.
  • Appearance: Eyes up, jerk. A few details, she is considered to be in the top standard of Ifrit beauty. Full figured, and a pretty face behind all that heat and flames. Ifrit are only anatomically correct when they want to be.
  • Personality: Talia has tendencies to be stubborn and selfish, and has problems where she acts like a typical spoiled teenager daughter. She is very curious about the world around her, and often acts too much before she thinks, but she has a good heart. She really loves humans, and wants them to like her. She fears being alone, and being rejected. She is constantly trying to prove her worth to those around her. She can be flirty, naive and sometimes immature, but she still values the qualities of responsibility and doing what is right. She has some valley girl tendencies, and is easily swayed by a pretty or handsome face.
  • Skills: As an Ifrit, she has a few natural abilities. Ifrit can live for around 200 years, and their bodies naturally produce heat and fire. Only her hair is actually made of fire. The rest of her is just very hot to the touch. When she is calm, it is equivalent to touching a functioning hot iron. But when she is angry, it gets much much hotter. She is resistant to both high and low temperatures, but very susceptible to water. It burns her when it touches her. She can fly, and leaves behind a small trail of flame, and she can also expel fire and heat from her body as projectiles.
  • Assets: She wears nothing but a small heat-resistant satchel given to her by her father. Inside is some small amount of money and a picture of her mother.
  • Bio: Talia is the princess of the Ifrit Kingdom. It is a very far-away land hidden in the desert, but it is infamous. They are a mostly prosperous people, and reluctantly keep to themselves. Ifrit are discriminated against more than a lot of other races, and as such, trade and foreign affairs are mostly non-existant. When her mother and father died, Talia would become queen. She was very popular among the people, but she was irresponsible and stubborn. She was a party-girl and made foolish decisions. One foolish adventure far into the desert put her own life at risk, and got her mother kidnapped by demons. She was banished from her kingdom by her father, until she fulled had what it takes to be queen. She has vowed to not return until she brings back her mother, and she has discovered something that would help all of the Ifrit people. Talia has learned that the demons that took her mother were controlled by the Dark Lord. Because her mother was the queen, this was equivalent to an act of war, and before the Ifrit people go out into danger, Talia wants to try and prove her worth by not only saving her mother, but being apart of the cause to defeat the Dark Lord.

Ninja2634 CAPTAIN MEMEFACE from MEME HELL Since: Dec, 2012
CAPTAIN MEMEFACE
#96: Jan 2nd 2013 at 1:16:35 PM

Name: Arxis

Age: 28

Gender: Male

Species / Class: Sorcerer, Human, "muddy white" (A sort of white/grey mix)

Appearance: For all intents and purposes, he appears to be distinctly average in height, build and general appearance. He has blue eyes and scruffy black hair. This is due to wanting to blend in and camouflage himself when he first entered the realm. Then he realised that is he looked like a Sorcerer, enemies would be more fearful of him, so he wears a dark, ominous robe, and a pointy black hat that is lined red.

Personality: Most of the time, he is friendly, outgoing and generally a kind person, being able to make friends easily. He is not known for showing mercy to those who stand against him, but if you're not against him, he is a very nice person. He is also very much a scholar- he enjoys observing and taking notes on different species, races and cultures, and keeps a journal with notes about different cultures in it.

Skills: As a Sorcerer, he has access to various different kinds of magic, but the area he excels in is using magic to manipulate the surrounding area, like telekinesis, but with magic rather than his mind. He can also use this to change the temperature and, to a small extent, change the size and/or surface area of an object (ie. make a corner of an object sharper so that he can slam it into a demons' eye)

Assets: He owns the aforementioned clothes, as well as a backpack containing a weeks' worth of food (mainly bread) and water, a journal in which he has made notes on various cultures, races and species, a box of matches, a pencil to write in said journal and a spare robe. There is also a small dagger in his pocket, just in case.

Bio: He first came into this realm to study and observe the Dark Lord's influence, but after a few brushes with the him and his forces, he soon realised that that was going to be made impossible by this foul tyrant. So, he has decided to help rid the land of the poisonous beast, just so that the land can become bright once more for him to study and observe, and to allow him to catalog the various species uninterrupted.

Judgement shall be delivered from High Above.

Subject, Donatus: Approved!

Subject, Lann: Approved, pending changes. Morrighan can be a morally dubious Goddess, like one that might be found on the Greek or Norse Pantheon, however do remove the Dark description off her, otherwise one might confuse her for one of the Deities serving the side of evil and demons. Also, the Gods are absent from the world since decades ago, so he could not have heard her voice on his head.

Subject, Loren of the Wood's Embrace: Approved, pending changes. I would be more comfortable if you scale back her optimism and happiness. While idealists can certainly be approved, these are Dark Times. The Dark Lord has killed countless people, dealt incredible pain and destruction to the land. Thus someone that wants to befriend him is far fetched to the point where it will not work. Specially since the first encounter she has with a demon patrol will teach her that no matter what she says, they will still be out for her blood. Willingness to kill will also be necessary, though trying to prevent as much loss of life of possible is doable. Also, I would appreciate a last name change.

Subject, Firock Finion: Approved!

Subject, Aria Silverbullet: Denied. A Token Evil Teammate is not necessary on this occasion and the fact that she would be a berserker egomaniac villain does not help. Specially as a Sorcerer. While a Sorcerer could certainly be corrupted and evil, they by nature were created to help the world stand against the darkness. It is in their nature to help and one that falls that hard onto the other end of the spectrum would instead be on the other side of this conflict.

Subject, Alexander Ironharte: Approved, pending changes. There are no remaining big Kingdoms left after the Dark Lord's conquest, especially human ones. Thus the most he could be Prince off is a city state on the edges of the Empire.

Subject, Elizabeth Wren: Approved! Good job Kiri!

Subject, Corbin: Approved, pending changes. Once again, the Gods have been absent from the world for a good while, so not even to guide his hands would the Dwarf God been there. However, there might be a sacred forge with materials at the end of a dangerous dungeon put there by Berrothoin so that his children could give form to their own Sacred Arm.

Subject, Arcaros: Approved, though his apparent focus on the magical arts might leave him slightly weaker on a direct confrontation compared to his other black dragon brothers.

Subject, Atheli: Approved, pending changes. Would like some feelings for him towards the Dark Lord, even if they are just wanting to defeat the mightiest warrior of his time.

Subject, Talia: Changes pending. Would need a retool of her motivations and history. While most people don't realize it, the threat of the Dark Lord might bring an end to the world. Thus her adventuring out merely as an errand to get the approval of his dad is rather jarring. Her personality can work, but there needs to be some drive for the quest at hand.

Subject, Arxis: Pending changes. There are no clans of Sorcerers, so I would bid you to read the information on the setting and Sorcerers. Once again, Sorcerers are meant to be saviors and while they can develop unsavory personalities, one that is completely self absorbed in battle and is more than willing to eliminate allies for his benefit does not mesh with it.

Thus has the Judgment been passed.

If I'm sure of something it's that I'm not sure of anything.
