How did you handle it?

An important update: I found out my computer is in need of a memory upgrade.

Can anyone tell me the situation involving Livejournal? And should I move to other Wordpress or Dreamwidth?

It's all there on the trope page, they've moved servers to Russia,so they abide by Russian law,so I certainly wouldn't use their site anymore if I thought my information was being sold to the Russian Government

New theme music also a box

Should I delete my old account? I don't want my information leaked

Okay, I'm completely lost.

On my old network, I was able to get Samba working fine between my Windows 10 computer and my mobile devices. Now I'm on a new wifi network, and it's all broken.

When I dumped ES File Explorer (good riddance, nag-bloat-adware), it took me five tries to find an app that would connect to my computer by Samba, and at that, FX File Explorer would only do it if I just let it scan the entire range of possible IP addresses on the network to find it automatically.

Now I'm trying to get Challenger Comics Reader working on my Fire again, and I can't get it to connect by Samba like I used to be able to. It gives a network error 100% of the time no matter what I try. I've told my desktop that this is a private network, I've tried changing the port settings and monkeying with the capitalizations in Challenger's config, and I installed FX on my Fire and that can't connect there either, but on my phone, I installed Challenger and Challenger wouldn't connect on my phone even though FX still will there.

At least VLC will connect to the Windows DLNA server, but that doesn't help me with the problem of accessing the comics stored on my computer from my tablet.

Update: I didn't want to, but I copied all my comics onto my tablet directly instead of streaming them from my computer.

Next problem: One of the comics was making the reader crash, thanks to a gigantic file size, even now that it's in local storage. So I pulled the file back onto my computer and did a bunch of CB archive file management. Open the CB 7 files in 7zip, extract all the pictures, split into three new folders, still crashing, bite the bullet and resize the ridiculously large pages.

There has to be a better way to standardize the runtime environment (or whatever the thing actually is) than how every program that's dependent on MS Visual C seems to install its own copy of vcredist.
