Oh God that was hilarious. [lol]

I so cannot wait for the arc to be animated in like 3 to 5 years & for even more people to start hating on Gabi. tongue

At least we can all be united in our hatred of Floch.

Floch was always a asshole and never had the excuse of being a kid that was brainwashed thoroughly.

Man's a Hate Sink, for sure. In RTS, he's Jerkass Has a Point with heavy emphasis on the jerkass part, afterwards he's just a raging fanatic asshat.

He does have a point in somethings. Like yes Erwin would of been the better choice on a pragmatic level to inherit the Colossal and Marley did not spare Paradis's civilians in anyway but its so overshadowed by him being a sanctimonious asshole and a coward to boot.

[up] He started out having a point, but somewhere along the line he's been drinking the koolaid with Yelena. And he's gone so far beyond having a point, since he's become a fanatic that believes in crushing anyone that doesn't worship Eren and gleefully betrayed his own nation to Zeke the dude that slaughtered all his comrades with rocks.

He's a prime example of how radicalization happens, in the real world. He's exactly what the world is afraid Eldians are like, and exactly what they claim the old Empire was like. He's a supremacist that wants to slaughter the rest of humanity, to establish dominance over the world and believes in inflicting all manner of horrors on anyone that isn't a loyal follower.

Well that plan failed, and badly.

Keith "Who's Man's Is This" Shadis.

But seriously, cut the man a break Isayama, he's suffered enough. Though I hope he's more involved, he was a character foil to Eren back in Uprising, and I'm curious what potential interaction he could have with Eren in this arc, if any.

Seeing Zeke put through the ringer is so sweet. I love how he underestimated Levi andbits just delicious.

The catharsis comes with Keiths suffering though.

Isn't torturing Zeke kind of a bad idea, though? Back in the uprising arc, Rod and co. did everything to prevent Eren from hurting himself, and Kenny cut Eren's forehead in the hope he would transform (but he chose not to). Inflicting a lot of pain on a titan-shifter seems like what you'd want to avoid.

Or is he forcing him to focus on regeneration instead…? They might have mentioned something like that…

But damn, why Shadis. sad The poor guy didn't ask for this.

PS: I also wonder, considering what we see in this chap, does physical training as a human impact the mobility of the titan?

Yikes, a fairly exciting chapter but also really disturbing in many ways.

Based on this chapter, it seems Zeke is being framed as a Well-Intentioned Extremist that genuinely believes whatever he is planning is for the best. These few moments of seeing into his thoughts seems to frame him as having an extremely negative view of the world and a belief that his actions are "unfortunate" but necessary. And it sounds like he had plenty of time to speak with Eren, and decide on a plan.

But ultimately, no matter what "truth" the Yeager brothers believe they know that everyone else doesn't understand.....I still think they're wrong. Because Zeke has been the grand engineer of this entire conflict over the last few years, setting things in motion and manipulating everyone to this ugly point where something horrible seems impossible to avoid.

So we have confirmation that you have to be close to Zeke for his scream to work. The people infected felt the activation similar to how Reiner, Bertolt, and Ymir sensed Eren using the Coordinate. But the distance means that he couldn't transform them — though it means pretty much everyone but Hanji and Levi are screwed in terms of the higher ups we know.

Man, Shadis just......has a horrible lot in life. It's clear as day even without an internal monologue that he sacrificed himself for his students. He's always been the kind of man that takes the safety of his troops personally, and plays the hard-ass while genuinely wanting them to succeed and survive. Just like with hazing them during the ceremony, he antagonizes them to push them to survive even if it meant being beaten within an inch of his life.

God, I hope delicious Karma comes for Floch in the most horrific manner possible. With Yelena in custody, he's really become The Dragon loyally carrying out Zeke's plan.

Or, perhaps more likely, Erens goals dont align with Zekes either and he has something planned beyond what Zeke seeks.

Someone who antagonizes the people he cares about because he thinks doing so will ensure their safety. Where have I seen this before? Hmm, I'm drawing a blank.

(Was that Eren connection a bit of a reach, totally, but I'm seeing this Keith/Eren foiling through to the end!)

The other thing I've seen people point towards concerning Eren is the conversation he had with Reiner. It's starting to have new meaning with his current actions — having to betray and hurt his friends, because of a larger goal he believes must be accomplished.

It's definitely interesting that the only person Eren has confided in was Reiner, while he's left everyone else completely in the dark. He refuses to talk to anyone else, but he took the time before everything started to sit down with Reiner.

Oh damn that chapter makes me feel sad for Shadis. He egged the trainees onto to nearly kill him purposefully to save them the trouble of possibly being singled out and killed by Floch.

Are we sure Eren ordered him to do that? It just looks like he was just watching and this was more a case Floch yet again being a absolute asshole. Keith's dressing down of him definitely wasn't wrong.

You know what suddenly hit me?

Shadis makes a point to call Floch by name.

He remembered the name of an insignificant kid from a class of 200+ that he instructed nearly 5 years ago.

Shadis remembers even the kids that weren't exceptional.

So, the spoilers I've read turned out to be completely false. I'm really glad that we didn't get a scene that confirmed how Eren conceived Historia's child. When, I saw how the chapter had mature content, I was worried but turned out just to be Zeke and Levi being brutal.

People hoping for Eren to be the father of the child, so they can validate their ship is imo quite disturbing. Probably in my top five disturbing behavior of Shonen fans.

So, who does not have Zeke's fluid inside him? At first I thought that the fluid would be used to turn the situation around by turning a relatively small or large amount of people into titans. But now it seems that almost everyone has the spinal fluid inside him, so I guess Zeke is not going to activate it. Unless Isayama needs to get rid of many characters fast.

So, something I saw pointed out was the guy at the end of the chapter with the glasses had been shown before. He was in chapter 87 on page 2 with his hands on Zeke's shoulders in the shot with his crying grandparents.

[up] Yeah, he seems to be the previous Beast Titan.

I wonder whether the flashbacks to give us a glimpse of the others that proceeded the Warrior Program? The only thing we know about them right now is that they were adults (as opposed to Child Soldiers) and participated in a major conflict to the south. They also weren't as skilled or strong as their successors since they weren't raised basically from birth to be Titans.

Speaking of being raised from birth to be Titans, if the Titan factor migrated through the paths and made some newborn a shifter after the previous holder died without transferring it, would the kid live only a decade or so?
