Has anyone found a counterplay for Anklyosaurs yet? I heard that the spikeweed/rock was nerfed so it ignores them, and I can't find the easy level with them to test it... and I still don't know how to deal with them in endless zones numbers.
If everyone were normal, the world would be a dull place. Like reality television.So. Two events have come (and one is already over) since my last post.
Explode-o-nut won't be available for another year, and it was broken as heck.
Kiwibeast is now available. Don't know how well it works yet.
Aloe is either severely underpowered, or was overpowered, and nerfed, without considering how it would affect the epic quest to unlock it.
If everyone were normal, the world would be a dull place. Like reality television.Huh. My phone finally decided to update the game, so I guess it's time to jump onto the bandwagon. I have to check out the new plants and whatnot.
EDIT: After a little testing the Beghouled Quest is completely broken. The Dark Ages stage becomes borderline impossible the second a single jester zombie shows up, as it just pirouettes its way through your defenses, with your defensive methods being limited to a lucky chance, a reshuffle and a prayer.

Epic Quest stage 7 was so much fun.
A plan your defense state that starts you with 4 Plant food, and allows Puff-Shrooms? Oh my god yes.
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.Well, I don't know how many people picked up the Explode-o-nut, so I'll just say it flat out replaces the Wall-nut.
Same sun price, as far as I can tell it recharges just as fast, and has the bonus of exploding cherry bomb style when killed, except by ring outs and, ironically enough, by fire. I wouldn't say that it replaces cherry bombs, since those have an instant effect, and explode-o-nuts have a delay on their explosion.
The plant food effect heals them to full, and gives them a shield of equal hp, which also explodes when destroyed. So when boosted, it's a complete gargantaur counter in one (excluding primal gargantaurs, which have plenty of health.
If everyone were normal, the world would be a dull place. Like reality television.Yep. With Eo N, Wall-Nut is obsolete. Plus, they have a pretty fast recharge time compared to Wall-Nut.
...ehehI suppose the saving grace is that it's a limited edition real money plant, so not many people can get their hands on it.
If everyone were normal, the world would be a dull place. Like reality television. It's kinda a pity that the only new updates are going to be new quests and new plants... no true final boss or something.
...ehehMade it through the Dark Ages stage of Beghouled, probably by sheer chance. The Big Wave Beach one proves to be even more ridiculous. The good news is that you can switch places of plants that are being constricted by an octopus, so it does not halt the game completely. The bad news is that there is a wave of those goddamn zombies appearing towards the end of the level, which means that at some point of the level you'll have a field full of octopi. This makes the level almost impossible as a) you have no defenses and b) you have absolutely no idea which of the octopi will actually form a match of three.
I solve this by not upgrading my Magnifying Grasses to Coconut Cannons, and upgrading all the other plants when saving sun. The sun projectiles are very handy at quickly killing Octo Zombies, something Coconut Cannon cannot do due to recharge being needed.
...ehehOh shit. Right.
I forgot you had to tap the Magnifying Grasses for them to actually do anything, I was too caught up in finding the matches. Now I feel like an idiot.
Well, I certainly know how to improve my next run!
Yeah, Magnifying Grass is superior to Coconut Cannon when dealing with octopi.
If everyone were normal, the world would be a dull place. Like reality television. The main problems are the Beghouled Blitz levels where they sic gargs on you... those ain't pretty.
...ehehSo I'm finally able to play again. For some reason my ancient iPad refuses to open the game during the 4th July update.
So what does Kiwibeast do? And is Aloe worth it? It seems horribly underpowered in the Epic quest.
Kiwibeast starts out small and has a 1x1 area attack for 2NDS... but after 7 bites, it grows into medium size and hits a 3x3 area for 2.5 NDS. After another 13 bites, it grows yet again, attacking a 4x5 area or so for 3.5 damage per attack. Pretty cool if I must say so, but needs constant babying..
And yeah, Aloe is very underpowered. They should make it affect the 3 plants in front at least.
...ehehAs far as I can tell, the Aloe's problem is that it's way too conservative with it's healing considering how small the heal actually is. Either that, or the recharge for it is far greater than the animation indicates.
If everyone were normal, the world would be a dull place. Like reality television. It only heals half the plant's maximum HP or so once the plant's HP gets below a certain amount... which really isn't much
...ehehI don't think I believe that, I've never seen it take a wall plant to it's unscathed appearance in one go.
Then again, that's assuming it changes appearance at nice round 1/2 health. I haven't actually checked the numbers for them, so maybe I'm wrong.

If everyone were normal, the world would be a dull place. Like reality television.I decided to fight fire with fire when it comes to gargantuars in Beghouled. I just immediately patched up the destruction they made; the first time I've used the game power ups for anything, actually.
That's certainly true, I've picked up a collection of powerups from grinding gems in endless modes, so I could just use those to make up for the epic quest BS.
If everyone were normal, the world would be a dull place. Like reality television.Ok, today's pinata party is a kiwibeast themed beghouled in egypt.
Really badly designed, but you can watch an advertisement instead of paying coins to try again. Hopefully they'll keep this feature, since a lot of these seem to depend on knowing the level layout.
Should I create another thread for PVZ heroes, or can I discuss my opinion on it here?
Edit: I did not realize how poorly designed this is. It has the option to upgrade a plant to ice peashooters, but even after the upgrade, they don't spawn. So your intended counter for the explorer zombies isn't there, making this far more difficult than it should be.

If everyone were normal, the world would be a dull place. Like reality television.Yeah, this one was a very poorly designed pinata party. Literally Beghouled Blitz step 1 but with the peashooters replaced with Kiwibeast...
...ehehSpeaking of Kiwibeast, I did some testing, mostly with Aloe, to see what it can do.
Freshly planted, it's even weaker than Phat Beetz.
After taking a few bites (someone else posted the numbers), it knocks back zombies on top of it and grows a size, with it's aoe matching the Phat Beetz.
At the final size, it's now larger range than the Phat Beetz is.
Aloe means that it doesn't have to worry about the getting eaten and can work a bit like the infini-nut, but that combo does take up two spaces.
It's very vulnerable to zombies with either instant-kills, that attack from range, or both.
I'd be willing to say that Phat Beetz isn't totally replaced by Kiwibeast, despite the latter growing to be stronger in every way, and that's that it needs to take damage to grow to full strength. A grown kiwibeast can end up killing zombies in adjacent lanes before they can damage the one in that specific lane, which kind of makes for an irregular setup. Although, theoretically, you could plant them out on their own, and then use an escape root to retrieve it once fully grown, I'd prefer to use Phat Beetz, since the only time I use them efficiently is in Modern Day and Pyramid of Doom, and you don't have the room to experiment there.
If everyone were normal, the world would be a dull place. Like reality television. How I use Kiwibeast...
Power Lily and Imitated Power Lily, use it on those that haven't grown big yet. Once I have 2 columns of large Kiwis, most zombies cannot get past all that.
...eheh
Ok, this is a one in a million chance of happening, but it's disastrous enough that people need to know about it.
A very poorly timed raptor kick + stegosaurus fling can send a zombie rocketing straight into the lane right in front of the house.
I don't know how it happened, or why, but I know that it can happen. I assume that it kicked the zombie forward the split second it became untouchable from stepping on the tail, and the reposition from the fling took precedence over the reposition from the kick, giving him a much bigger distance jump than should have happened.
Seriously. If I hadn't hit them all with a Shadowshroom PF, that could have cost me a mower.
