Well, Goer may be many things, but he is loyal. Thats something.

Whew, lots of rolling additions, but hey, it's looking less sparse now.

Needed to ask help from the Yamato vets at Asuki, and I was seriously surprised at who among the Gamilons were actually new for this remake rather than returning faces.

The biggest surprise for me was the fact that all of the Cosmo Navy characters are all from the original iterations of the show, and the movies. There are NO Canon Foreigners among them apparently.

I got caught up on this show a couple weeks ago (holy crap it's amazing but the wait for new eps is absolute murder) and am currently in the middle of a rewatch. Apparently in my first time through, I somehow completely skipped the episode where they leave the Solar System. SO MANY things that confused me or bothered me about the show make so much more sense now.

This looks like a fanmade trailer for a Hypothetical Film/OAV/? about the Battle of Mars. Am I the only one who think "I WANT!" about such a thing?

started watching the whole series in July, went through the horrible period between August and October to wait for the last chapter, and I finally finished it this weekend. most majestic series, with stellar visuals, cast, and music - really measures up with the original, and then some.

I was actually surprised at the lack of discussions, though; for a series in the 40k sales range for each volume it seems awfully underrated.

I suspect that's because most of sales and like are occuring in an older, nostalgia driven crown and less in the younger, more active and vocal areas of fandom.

Edit: That being said, I've not long finished watching it myself (via a friend getting the Blu-Rays from Japan) and was quite impressed.

So canon pairings are Kodai/Yuki, Makoto/Saburo, Yurie/young security officer who's name I can't remmber and Akira/Melda? Sound about right to everyone?

More or Less. I suspect Yamamoto gave up on men after Kodai, and instead started the first Gamillian/Human relationship. It was also nice to see some of the other characters have a larger role towards the end, especially Miki Saijo^note  I'm a Saijo fan, and I'm not the only one... and her blue-suited friend^note  Anyone got a romanisation for her name?.

...and Niimi is now not really there. We all know why.

Not one on that website. I mean her◊, who also serves as one of Sanada's assistants. Apparently, her Kanji are: 桐生美影.

• The one I was looking for above, in blue is apparently Kiryuu Mikage◊; she may have a thing for Sanada.
• The one that looks similar to Miki Saijo◊^note  Who by the end appears to be a full member of the Bridge Crew , but with a red bow in her hair is Kashiwagi Sayaka◊

Finally grabbed the last four episodes the other day, and I watch them all in one sitting while I waited for my poor ship girls in Kancolle to finish their maintenance bath after a bad sortie. Amazing stuff, though episode 26 itself seems more of a denouement to the climax in 25, what with the wedding, and the arrival back at Earth.

Oh, and no one expects a subdimensional submarine. Glad that Goer finally got his just desserts, but kind of sorry to see one of the Talan brothers go down with Dessler.

Speaking of Dessler, people are saying that this isn't the last we've seen of Herr Dictator. I mean, there's still the Gatlantis/Comet Empire arc after all, where in the old show we had Dessler breathe in outer space, of all things.

Well, I didn't see a body. And we get a feature film in '14 so...lets see. I for one am glad Gimleh is dead.

Isn't this essentially a reboot though? I bet things will be written differently if a sequel gets out or something. I think the ending got glossed over too quick, but considering the quality across ALL 26 episodes, I think this is definitely, hands down, a worthy remake of the original.

Actually if you look closely the Desura's bridge seems to be attempting to detach right before the main body blows up. (And we know that at least some Gamilas ships can do that like the Domelaze).

Found this. Dammit, I'm not someone who goes all into "feels" (as the tumblr types call it) but this gets me...

Welp, the subs for the second movie are out! So, I'm gonna need some help updating the page a bit with stuff from the movie.

Characters who feature in the movie. Note the new additions — like Niimi's assistant (who we saw at the end of the series), and the third duty officer for Yuki's seat at navigation. Oh, and the marines too.

Etheldred's translation of the character profiles for the movie.

Also some Comet Empire people (who seem to be designed after the Klingons, for some reason, real space barbarian vibe here), Gamilans (including survivors from Dommel's attack given expanded roles!), and... Jirelians? Yep, they're still around.
