This is a huge mess, yet again, with plenty of entries that take some pretty incredible stretches in order to make dirty jokes out of clearly innocent lines. Another problem is entries that aren't attempting to hide the joke whatsoever and in fact wouldn't be banned by a reasonable censor anyway.

Essentially, I'll welcome help, but all I really want is permission to thresh out all the chaff. I'd welcome oversight of my work, as well. I just don't want to axe three quarters of this page without warning or explanation.

Getting Crap Past the Radar is broken pretty much beyond repair across the board, in exactly the ways you describe. I'm pretty sure there's a general cleanup thread on Special Efforts somewhere that you might better take this to, though it won't do much good in the long run.

Yeah, I read that thread to completion and voted in the crowner. There hasn't been a ton of movement on it, exactly, and even after the voting finished there's really a sense of "Well, what now?" Not really optimistic on that.

In the meantime, until the broad-spectrum fix gets in, I was approaching the community for permission to clean up this particular page since it is large, on a popular series and gets a fair amount of traffic. It would even be in keeping with the conclusion reached on that crowner.

You don't need permission for removing bad entries. Never.

Well, the winning crowner option may as well have been "do nothing" for all the good it will do. "Very blatant" is subjective as heck, and trying to cleanup misuse on this scale without implementing any permanent change to the thing is like trying to extinguish a single piece of burning furniture while your entire house goes up in flames.

So it's no wonder little progress has been made.

I am almost inclined to restart a discussion in TRS, since it's not getting attention in Special Efforts.

Okay. Somebody check my work, please. I started out trying to be good-natured about the whole thing, but I was so annoyed by the end that I took a second pass with something approaching malice in my heart. It's entirely possible that I cut some legitimate examples in there somewhere.

Also, I wasn't sure if yanking the page image and caption was cool, but... come the fuck on. Really? (Not my official position should this decision be contested. But... come the fuck on. Really?)

Should I be rebuffed there that part should be pretty easy to revert.

Is there anything else that needs to be done with this one?
