If I did Lets Plays I probably would do that. I like teaching people things.
Why waste time when you can see the last sunset last? It's a lot more work, but the effort would be worth it...
It's pretty much the exact same game-plan as doing a speedrun, but the plan is showing off everything about a game instead of speeding through it.
This would be why someone like Chuggaaconroy didn't produces as many LP(s) as the average let's player.
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.A lot depends on the type of game being played. I tend to watch plays of 4X, grand strategy and city builder lets plays, which all have enough variety between individual runs that they’re still generating a new experience each time even though they have insane amounts of hours in the game.
Nobody does a speed run of EU 4 or Dwarf Fortress, but they’re not going into the game blind, just playing a new nation or trying a new style of fortress.

“And the Bunny nails it!” ~ Gabrael “If the UN can get through a day without everyone strangling everyone else so can we.” ~ CyranYou can do a speedrun of sorts in EU 4 if you set yourself a goal (like world conquest in x years or before y event).
Optimism is a duty.I more had giving advice and explaining while playing. I'd rather create a written walkthrough so people can instantly find what they need.
Why waste time when you can see the last sunset last?Well...until Youtube took away annotations and...a certain other feature, that would've still been possible in video form.
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. What feature would that be if you don’t mind me asking?
Help me. I can't get it out of my head.Put me down as another who prefers to watch blind let's plays.
To the extent that, as I recall, I've occasionally actually stopped watching let's plays upon finding that they're not blind.
For me, a big part of the enjoyment of a let's play is in seeing the let's player discover the game: seeing them encounter the plot twists, learn the mechanics, uncover hidden things.
Seeing their journey through the experience of the game.
That said, there have been exceptions.
For one, I think that I vaguely recall seeing and enjoying playing games that they loved
For another, a format that I find to be fun is that in which there are two (or more) let's players, one of whom knows the game, and the other of whom—the one actively playing—doesn't. There can be some interesting dynamics from that, I find.
And for a third, I've seen at least one case in which the let's player was spoiled on a certain fact from later in a game-series—and being so spoiled actually enhanced their enjoyment of the development of that fact. And that greater enjoyment was lovely to see.
Funnily enough, back when I streamed games (and before that, when I made edited let's plays), I primarily played games that I had played before.
Now, I had various reasons for this, as I recall—for one thing, it was much more affordable to use the games that I had already to hand. Plus I am fond of a lot of old games, so I was primarily a retro let's player.
Admittedly, in some cases it had been long enough since my preceding playthroughs that the experiences were all-but-blind! ^^;
But still, there were also cases in which I enjoyed sharing my favourite games, and talking about various elements thereof. ^_^
My Games & WritingIn addition to annotations, videos could have like...sub-videos that basically act like unlisted videos now except it acted like the same page.
I forget how it worked exactly.

You can still technically do it with unlisted videos, but it's not really the same.
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.Say, are adds getting longer or am just going crazy? It's always 2 unskippable 15 second ads for me. They are recommended through an algorithm right? can you avoid the longer ads or it's something i just have to deal with?
Very close to using U-block youtube
Uni catI've been getting the same recently.
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them. It’s not just you. Ads are getting longer and they are even worse (For me anyways) if I’m signed in. You can reload the page and hope the ads lessen but that only seems to work when you’re not signed in,
It feels inevitable now to get a fifteen-second ad every ten-to-fifteen minutes. I got a similar strategy in just getting reloading as soon as the ad appears
Also, were those unskippable 2-3 minute ads ever real? I’ve always heard stories about them but have never seen one in the wild.
I’m sorry, but you have Stage 9 Animes.I do remember seeing a few but that was at least months ago. Edit: Also is it me or is Youtube rather laggy at random points?

You Tube embeds seem to be borked on mobile for some reason.

I blame gremlins
New theme music also a boxIt's not just on mobile; I'm on desktop, and trying to post new embeds are don't work. Old embeds still work, as shown in this post, but anything posted in the afternoon got borked.

Hitokiri in the streets, daishouri in the sheets.Same here.
Burning love!I just thought I was embedding wrong.
Why waste time when you can see the last sunset last?embedding has always been wonky I've found
New theme music also a boxThere seem to be issues with embedded video on these forums as well. I just spotted two instances of this happening.
EDIT UPDATE:
Edited by CursedBarney on Mar 15th 2024 at 8:10:36 AM
Fear it... or not.Well I’m least I’m not alone on this but still it’s annoying. And it has not been fixed since when I zoom out of a video, it lags.
About two days later and the embugs (embed bugs) still haven't been exterminated.
Well, it was over the weekend.

People who play games blind aren't "showing the game off"...
That's not really the appeal and the skill will develop naturally.
Most people don't do...what are essentially commentated walkthroughs, unless they're playing something really old.
