I think the channel itself is fairly apolitical and covers a bunch of things including both legitimate and minor. It might be spread around by creepy weeaboos mad they can't stare at naked little girls anymore but I don't think the videos themselves are particularly incendiary so much as informative.

Its kind of sad that the alt-right has tainted youtube so much that we are on a first impression very suspicious and cautious just from a youtubers channel name.

I am not surprised though. A lot of them pick really dumb or pretenious names

Honestly I just kicked a number of channels from my Youtube abos, all for the same reason: Punting ideas which are familiar from the Anti-SJW-Anti-Captain Marvel campaign. One "genius" even quoted f... Jordan Peterson in order to make the (completely idiotic) point that good Art needs to be "nuanced" (and with nuanced he meant that you always need to present both sides of an argument) if it decides to tackle politics.

(And that particular quote by Peterson was stunningly ignorant, considering that he was citing Picasso of all people as an apolitical artist...really?).

Anyway, it is kind of depressing. Those were all youtubers which used to have a lot of potential, and who all managed to get ensnared into the whole Anti-SJW narrative. With a few of them I had seen signs for a while, but for some of them the turn completely surprised me.

I forgot his name but there is one infamous alt-right youtuber out their whom made a ridiculous amount of anti-Captain Marvel videos within a month. We are talking more than 20+ videos. And this was before Captain Marvel was released too.

Like I genuinely don't understand. If I don't like an work I'll just drop it and leave. That level of hate and obsession is something else and is just an absolute waste of time.

I did...and that was nothing. There were multiple people who did 20+ vids about this oh so hot topic (usually roughly the same vids), but one channel managed to make over hundred videos about why Captain Marvel would be terrible and sink the MCU before the movie was even released.

And they still haven't stopped.

It's really sad how they are dominating the conversation about the movie just by pushing out more and more of their fake news, and that some of the stories are now bleeding into the work of youtubers which technically don't belong to this group.

"Captain Marvel doesn't have an arc" is nearly a meme now, even though nothing can be further from the truth.

Come on, we all know that 99% of Anti-SJW Youtubers don't do any research (or do, but very badly) and most of the time just imagine all their "sources" and "quotes". Don't forget all those guys, who screamed about Anita Sarkeesian propaganding "male genocide", even through she didn't do anything even half close to that in any of her content.

Sure, but sadly a lot of people take the fake news they spread as factual. I bet a lot of people now just "know" that the Avengers Cast doesn't like Brie Larson because...she was joking around with them during the press events.

This is how propaganda works. And thanks to social media it spreads like a wildfire.

It's quantity over quality. Add that to how quickly things proliferate over social media...that's how you get people believing the "Captain Marvel has no arc" bullshit.

It helps that there are already a lot of people ready to believe the worst of the movie and Brie Larson anyway, making them receptive to the message.

6xThat reminds me of an Anti-SJW Youtuber I saw when Mortal Kombat 11 was announce and when they got Ronda Rousey to voice Sonya Blade.

He made a video that made it seem like angry SJW were boycotting the game because Ronda Rousey said something about trans people he try to use the IGN twitter thread to prove his point but when no one was boycotting the game there he had to go out of his way to find people boycotting the game and even then none of the tweets went over five likes or retweets.

I still remember the stuff with DOOM Eternal last year when few people made tweets on twitter not liking UAC hologram lady's lines about "mortally challenged" or "earth is a melting pot of the universe" but liked everything else. It was honestly just few disgruntled people with writing, nothing controversial/outrageous

Naturally, the people who want to stick it to the "SJ Ws" decided to make lengthy videos about it and spread it all around, making drama and trying to create (or find) controversy in it. Too many results... like just type "doom eternal sjw" you will not be disappointed by results! (but will be disappointed it's a thing)

I watched Shaun's video about it, satisfying.

And to repeat: I do NOT appreciate these bozos associating Alex Jones with Doomguy.

Anti-SJW are creatively sterile. The one dude that was making videos about Captain Marvel is enough proof.

That type of content is hard to pump out consistently since, you know, SJW like they like to portray don't actually exist so they have to shit on anything that is diversive to even have something to make a video of.

Why do these people have to be gamers too? It's salt, isn't it? Gamers are salty by nature and that has corrupted our core.

I am glad I ignored their poison. I always felt really suspicious about those "Anti SJW" guys in general but I could articulate what exactly is wrong with them. I wonder how this whole "SJW" came about anyway? I always thought it was really nebulous term but how did come about?

The rise of political correctness and some of the general public perceiving some of the defenders of that as Political Correctness Gone Mad.

I'm pretty sure Gamergate has a lot to do with the origins of SJW as perceived by it's anti counterpart. And certain popular incidents, like that woman who was dubbed "triglypuff" or the "Hugh Mungus" joke that triggered some nutjob into harassing the dude for a dumb joke, it's how those people think the SJW behave.

Or at least that's how i think they think.

It looks like Youtube made a general change to the desktop version. It uses the buttons from the mobile version and adds a quick overview of your channel on the home page.

I kinda like it. It doesn't feel as cluttered.
